The WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! If I could give zero stars I would. I started residential garbage pickup with them Nov 26th & needed a couch picked up also. It's now JANUARY 7TH & the couch is still sitting on my front lawn!! I look like straight trash with a couch on my lawn for 6 weeks! I've called every week & they tell me the same thing "I'm so sorry I can't believe that haven't picked it up yet, I'll make sure they come tomorrow." Well first they moved me to "top priority" then when that line didn't work anymore they started saying tomorrow. I finally said just refund my money I'm cancelling your horrible service & they told me they can't. I now have the Christmas tree out there too which it's going on a week now for that! I have had business with these people for years. They have always got paid. I went on maternity leave and paid 3 bills back to back. one of my payments didn't go through for some reason. they stopped dumping my dumpster and said they won't dump it till they get the one payment that didn't go through. so basically they don't have to do there job but I still have to pay them. they have tripled my bill since I started going through them and they only dump it when they want. no schedule as they say. the absolute most unprofessional business i have ever had to deal with i have to sit on my porch at 5 am to make sure they take my trash if I'm not outside they won't take it, i spent 60$ in trash tags for them to leave my garbage on the street till the next week when the garbage is now doubled. Things have been going pretty well lately I hope I don't jinx it. The only reason I gave them 3 stars and not 5 is because for a long while they would skip my house. Sometimes I got a reason why other times I didn't. When I would call them to hopefully fix the issues they didn't care. It's been good past few months though so I'm hoping it continues to stay that way. If it ever gets as bad as it was for us I think I'll have to drive our trash to the dump every week ourselves. That was a headache. One might wonder why I don't give it a good rating if it seems better now... well that's bc they have been highly inconsistent and I don't trust it will stay that way. After they picked them up about ten days later their corporate office called me asking where the totes were. After I told them you picked them up they sent me a $222.48 bill! It's so cliche to give a utility-like company a 1* review, but unfortunately it's warranted. The crews provide very unreliable and poor service. They routinely throw the cans about or leave the garage entirely if they have some gripe. Of course if the garbage is not bagged well or is inappropriate for pickup they should leave a note, but that's not the case here. There is never a good reason to throw a customers garbage can 15-20 ft from where they were placed. The customer service dept is not interested in taking legitimate complaints and attempting to alter the quality of service. They often just disclaim any responsibility or try to transfer you to a different agent/department. If you have a choice, I recommend finding another company. Though tbh, the other options in the area may be even worse, sadly. If you're Casella reading this, don't celebrate, that bar is super low... read more

Last week they made at least 4 mistakes handling my account and garbage service resulting in them not picking my garbage for a week after service was restored and numerous promises they would get a truck out to pick it up. Their final excuse was that their truck broke down. So...they only have one truck? They took over a couple of other companies who were equally as bad so I should have seen the writing on the wall. They won't accept accountability for their screw ups and tell you things just to get you off the phone. We've paid the monthly fees and placed our trash out the day before pickup for the past two weeks and they haven't picked it up. We've placed two tags on the can. We've called them two weeks in a row asking why they haven't. Their reply is we'll check on that and call you back. They never call back. We called back and then they say they'll see if anyone is still out and have them come by a pick it up. No one shows up. They miss pick ups. THE ONLY THING I PAY THEM FOR. When you call there will be no attempt to rectify. They have failed to provide requested documentation. They have sent inaccurate bills that without catching we would have been overcharged and erroneously charged. MULTIPLE TIMES. Seems like a scam where they send extra bills to their accounts and hope most people don't pay attention and pay for nothing. Most recently they have sent a past due bill for several months of services already rendered, citing their retroactive increase in fees. Insane and infuriating. "Show me in the contract where that is not allowed" direct quote from the combative and unprofessional customer service. Horrible service at every possible step. Pick any other company your life will be better. At best casella is a waste of money at worst a probable scam. Shame on the name Casella. We have been a Casella customer for number of years and pay our bill in-full and on time. We pay for trash to be picked up weekly and recycling every other week, unfortunately that is not the service we receive. We call customer service, not once in a while, but constantly and report that our trash and/or recycling has not been picked up. This week we had one toter and a large trash bin full of recycling - this is two weeks' worth of recycling that was not picked up when scheduled. The recycling finally got picked up, but not the trash! Called customer service at 5:45 p.m. and was told my trash was picked up 20 minutes ago! I don't know whose trash got picked up, but it wasn't mine! I was told it would be picked up today - spoke with about 3 customer service representatives today, now were being told Monday the trash will be picked up. The amount billed after pickup was incorrect and when I called and spoke with 2 different reps, neither could help me calculate the amount billed. One even told me that the tax on $114.75 was the $21+ difference. WHAT? Also would not geek the $25 discount advertised on their own page because we didn't ask for it when we made the initial contact. Nowhere does it say when we have to ask or that we even HAVE to ask to receive the discount. When I asked about the "enviro fee" and how that is calculated, I was referred to their website and told all the information is explained there. Still looking for it on the website. Will not use this company again. Constant price increases without notification to customers. When I started the service two years ago they said it would be $38 plus tax - that ended up at $48 initially and then within months jump to $54 without notification. And then a year later it's up to $64 again without notification. When I called Cassella to cancel they asked why and I said it's simple the service is way over priced approximately double what was needed. I would give them 0 stars if it was possible. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The pick-ups are extremely inconsistent and they don't tell you when they are going to be late. It's not just late by a day, sometimes it's a week later. No courtesy call, nothing. We experienced price increases constantly. Our normal bill was $85 and we would randomly get charged $160. I called to find out about the increase and ironically enough, it was always due to extra trash. No courtesy call to let you know the bill is larger than you expect it to be and then you get charged extra for your extra trash. We asked for our dumpster to get picked up over 6 weeks ago and it still sits in our driveway. I have spoken with multiple people who have told me 3 different times it would be picked up that day. They did property damage, 1st excuse dumpster in a S#!++¥ spot, they put it there and been there for 3 yrs! 2nd excuse they don't like residential dumpsters, then why am I paying you? The company's home pick up is a joke... we're a familof four with 2 kids under the age of 4... (lots of diapers) Every week i have some sort of slip stating why my trash was not removed..., this has been going on for months... I now have a large pile of trash built up in one bay of my garage in spite of spending hundreds of dollars on service fees and tags... on weeks there are holidays the trash is expected to be out days before or after the regular day... there is a six bag a week limit witch would be 24 bags a month right so f you didn't take it last week due to Holliday fuckery n I put it all out this week should I not be entitled to 12 bags.... then there is the cans to heavy pink tag... now they can refuse pickup because they didn't take it last week, it got rained on adding weight. Why am I responsible for this when I have paid all my bills, bought your stupid tags and put it out for collection. I still have to now go purchase a dump pass and rent a truck so I can avoid spending hundreds more dollars on a dumpster I'm sure will not be emptied timely so as the contents again become soaked with rain water and then I will be over charged for a excessive weight limit on the dumpster.... Casella has a monopoly on trash pickup here in Tompkins County with only Dougs as an alternative. I will be giving Dougs a call soon as Casella continuously disappoints. I have to call them every few months when they fail to pick up my garbage. No reason given which is peculiar. They usually send someone right out and are polite on the phone but I shouldn't have to call them as much as I do. Last week, the day before Thanksgiving, they made their pick ups at 8am when they usually stop by at 2pm. I didn't have my trash out yet.
