Given there are a lot (LOT!) of time wasting sales man in this business and a lot of horror stories, hopefully you can find this quite useful. The agency is Get-Let.ie. I've dealt with Gavin, one of the owners (and landlord as well). An incredibly nice guy - he came to Allendale, explained us all the process, the fees (lower than market average, and well worth if you don't want the hassle to deal with minor things / taxes / etc...) and the process in a very clear way. He is a "I recommend you to do this, but then it's your choice" kind of guy. After we signed the contract, he took the picture of the house, posted them on Daft and within 3 days we had 4 viewings in an evening. All filtered by dozens of application he received using a number of criteria he proved to be successful in his experience. The day after he had 3 offers, 1 of those was actually from a very nice Irish couple - what you could define "perfect tenants". Both with great stable jobs and income. The day after, deposit and contract signed. Everything sorted in less than a week. He is managing more than 300 properties, has discounted contractors to deal with any sort of minor problem, but most of all has been recommended to me by 2 friends that use it from years, with them (landlord) and their tenants both very happy. After a good half hour of mourning and another half hour of calling every locksmith I could find in Dublin, with prices ranging from €135 in one place, to €95 +VAT in another, I got through to McCoys and agreed on their €70 charge. They were on the scene within a pretty reasonable time frame, they were really nice to deal with, and it took them (depressingly) all of about 1.3 seconds to open the door. Would definitely recommend. Oh - and they do a discount if you need to use their services again after the first time... here's hoping not!

They had no problem coming over on a Saturday. They took 70 Euro + VAT to replace the lock, and the guy did it in less than 2 minutes. Also emailed a receipt from his phone. Pretty neat.

She also allowed us to move in to an unsafe, mouldy house and admitted that the previous tenants had the same problem. Our clothes and furniture were destroyed after only a couple of months there. She told us that it wasn't the dangerous kind of mould and ignored some of our emails with photographs of the issue. It was only when we contacted Threshold and an Environmental Health Officer that she instructed us to clean the mould away using masks then she sent in a painter to use mould-suppressing paint. The reason for writing this review is to hopefully save some other poor tenants from having to go through what my partner and I had to endure. And if you decide to go with this agency, make sure to have everything in writing before you sign on the dotted line.
