When we first visited the Tallaght branch, the staff were extremely helpful, especially Colm, who really went out of his way to assist us. This gave us confidence to go with Deskelly, even though their pricing was only average compared to other quotes. We chose them because we expected professionalism and reliability from a larger company. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. Endless Postponements: Dates we had confirmed in the shop were not entered into their system. More than once, I was told last-minute that the fitting was postponed, including on the very morning I was expecting them. This caused huge stress, especially since I had to rearrange the delivery of a new bed and other furniture several times. Customer Care Issues: Communication with customer care was one of the most frustrating parts. Calls were cut off while I was still talking, promises of follow-up were not kept, and I constantly had to chase updates myself. The lack of respect for my time and situation was very disappointing. Inconsistent Fitting Standards: The LVT team did an excellent, clean job. The carpet fitting, however, was messy and inconsistent. Some areas were left unfinished, and in one case the fitter admitted he had used leftover carpet because the measurement hadn't been done properly. Since Deskelly themselves took the measurements, I don't understand how this could happen, and I was left feeling like I had to accept poor standards for something I paid a premium for. In the end, the work was only completed after weeks of stress, delays, and unnecessary back-and-forth. For a company that presents itself as professional and charges above handyman prices, I honestly expected far better. Overall, while some staff tried to help (again, Colm was excellent), the overall process was exhausting, uncoordinated, and frustrating. I would strongly urge Deskelly to improve their communication, scheduling, and accountability so that future customers don't go through what I did. I left this experience frustrated and disappointed, and I genuinely cannot recommend them.

Look up 'crack den' on your internal dictionary, and you might come close to being able to picture how the place looked. It needed a massive overhaul, and a combination of serious loveage, epic skills, and extreme vision. After consulting with several different building contractors, I brought Carroll Contractors on board. I had become frustrated with builders who came along and as well as giving me quotes, gave me a superior attitude, and a 'don't worry about it, you're only a girl' condescending vibe. Eoin Carroll brought the exact opposite attitude to the table, and maintained this throughout the entire build. He is very easy to consult with, he explains in detail what is happening, how and when, and is very open to ideas and suggestions from the client. (of which I had many...!) Apart from all-important attitude, the standard of work we're talking about here is top notch. I'm very particular when it comes to details, and was worried that whoever I had working on the house, wouldn't have the same ridiculous standards. I didn't need to worry. These guys work to a highly meticulous level, and everything is finished perfectly. There were many occasions in fact, when they went over and above what I has asked for, to make sure it was all absolutely perfect. And the final kicker - budget. I found these guys to be extremely reasonable in comparison to others I got quoted by. The full build actually came in nearly exactly on budget (save for a few extra bells & whistles I added on myself). Eoin in fact again went out of his way to save me money whenever he could, which as you can imagine, is very much appreciated on such a huge project. If you are looking for a builder, save yourself the hassle of looking elsewhere, and book these guys in.

* Avoid* Left us in the lurch big time…read more Told us tiles were in stock and would be available to collect, we'd booked in tiler, plumber for 2nd fix plasterer etc. Our tiler arrived to collect them and they were not there. They offered us free delivery as a compensation which is essentially worthless as collection is easy for our tiler who is always in Ballymount area collecting bits from reliable suppliers. Offered nothing else and we are out of pocket. We were told to send an email.

Had colm from Clack roofing down to inspect a leak on our flat roof, we had let the go for years…read morebut never done anything about it until it got worse. Colm found the problem very promptly and gave us a price there and then. The flat roof needed to be stripped off completely and recovered with felt. He arrived back the next day and started at 8.30 and had the job complete in about 6 hours. I would highly recommend colm and the crew as they were very hard working, reliable and pleasant to deal with. I know in the future if I have a problem I can call on them.
