This particular Money Mart is okay. I'd have preferred if things would move faster. The best time to come here is the beginning of the second week of a month. Like a week into the month. Why? Since it's a payday advance place as well, 3rd week of the month is really the worst time. Unfortunately many people need that service. Also month-ends and extremely early in the month people are repaying their payday loans. Having said all that, I think the staff are quite knowledgeable and they tend to have quite a good load of money here - which is also useful for people receiving a large sum of money. Their hours are also pretty decent: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (I believe)! They've got a wireless shop at their premises too. I don't know how useful that it, but it's there for those who are looking for a short-term pay as you go cellphone.

No text so I call them, they tell me they forgot to give me paper work to sign so my 2016 wasn't finished, fine, no big deal. I go down there right away and sign the paper the lady informed me I would be a high priority, apologized and said it would be done the following morning at 8 am. The next day at 4 pm I call to check the status, got put on hold and then was hung up on. Called back and the same thing happened. So I go down there, waited half and hour for the worker to deal with another customer who was also unhappy about how there taxes were being dealt with, there was also some communication problems between the two and both the customer and the worker were getting frustrated with another, the customer then asked if there was someone else he could talk to because the worker has broken English and a very thick accent so things were not being understood on both ends. He was informed tomrrow the manager would be in so he said he would come back then. Then it's my turn and they tell me it's not ready, call back tomorrow and it might be done. I was also told I didn't have to come all the way down I could have just called. I didn't bother explaining I had tried twice already and was hung up on. So now I will be going on 3 days. First I was told 5 hrs, then 24 hrs and now another 24 hrs. The whole point of going to money mart was the incentive of getting a quick tax return. Also when I called initially they forgot about my 2016 return and explained I couldn't get a same day tax return. Nothing was explained to me until I figured out they were taking about 2015 which makes sense but they didn't even mention my 2016 so I had to call back about it. Everytime I have called or been down there it's always someone else working and I'm being told different things by different people. I probably won't be dealing with money mart again during tax time IL save myself the $104 and wait the 2 weeks and just e file it myself. I understand they are swamped and busy but every interaction I have had with someone there has been like pulling teeth just to get simple information. I also can't understand why it took all but 5 hours for my 2015 to be completed but 3 days for my 2016, especially after being told I am a high priority because they made a mistake. I have currently paid over $6000 over the 4.5 years towards my loan and I had cancer during it. I had late payments due to cancer but I'm totally up to date with my payments. Got a message from their legal department out of the blue thinking I had about less than $1000 of the loan left since it is up in November but they are coming after me and saying I owe another $5500. They are saying I have several missed payments which is a $98 NSF charge which your NSF charges can't be higher than the payment amount according to the law and in Alberta the max NSF charge they can charge is $25. So they are doing extremely shady and illegal practices. I currently have a lawyer and contacting all of the regulatory boards that are associated with loan companies. These people are scam artists and prey on people that are going through tough times. Do not use these people.
