So much so we extended his hours from half to full day! We also LOVE that the classes are small & the teachers build a close relationship w/ every child. Touring other schools was quite scary seeing kids screaming and overwhelmed staff. I can assure you Peppermint Tree is not and never will be that way! You also have a built in Summer Camp w/ 2 pools to accommodate all age groups. Did I mention swimming lessons, class trips, gardening, ice cream days, etc? This was their time to eat and sleep! Their naptime was 2 hours. So, if you want your 4.5 year old toddler to go to summer camp and nap for 2 hours this is your place. There were no other activities as promised on the schedule we were emailed to before camp began. The schedule showed that they were going to do arts, science and so many fun things. When I asked if he was doing any of these things I was told by his teachers that most of these were happening during his pool time. Really? Isn't the establishment's responsibility to ensure that all groups get to do these "fun things?" Why should a 4.5 yr old eat and sleep from 12 pm - 3 pm. There is plenty of time for his "teachers" to read books, engage them in fun/educational activities while they're inside. So really, all that money we paid for was only for 2 hours (run around in the playground and use the pool). Our child didn't learn anything, there were no educational activities as the written schedule showed, and we basically paid for 5 hours, 3 out of which were eat and sleep! I don't recommend this place whether it is for summer camp or as a daycare. Unless you want to use it as a babysitting place, sure, then it's fine. Just don't expect your child to learn here...

I have called, emailed, and left several messages regarding their summer camp. I finally received a phone call back after multiple attempts two weeks before camp was supposed to start and the owner said she would write down my questions and get back to me. This was two weeks before camp started how do they not know their camp hours or the scheduled trips or events? She never got back to me regarding these questions so I asked for a full refund due to my poor experience with their facility. If they cannot answer simple questions I sure wouldn't want them taking care of my children. I called regarding the status of my refund she said she will mail a check as they are unable to refund the money to the card I originally paid with. We called a week later as we still haven't received the check and offered to pick it up. She said "we don't normally refund registration fees as they are non refundable and I will call you when I have the check ready." I told her no where online does it indicate the registration fee is non refundable one and two due to the poor experience and rudeness it should be refunded. I called a day later and she said "I still don't have the check ready I will call you when it is ready." I asked what the hold up was does she not have the funds to refund my money, does she not have anymore checks? She then said "I already gave you an explanation sorry it might not be what you want to hear have a nice day" and hung up the phone on me. I called back and said I'm simply asking why it is taking so long for them to refund my money and she said "I am not going to go back and forth with you I gave you an answer" then she proceeded to stay on the phone but not speak and I said "hello I hear you breathing you really not going to speak to me?" She then hung up. How childish. This is supposably the owner acting this way and you trust them with your child(ren)? I would pull your child(ren) out ASAP.

Nothing has compared to the peace of mind of dropping her off every day knowing that she was being thoughtfully developed in a safe and joyful environment by an academic staff that would embrace her individualism while instilling within her the skills to become a life-long learner. Honestly, our only regret was not enrolling our daughter sooner. While I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school, here are the most immediate that come to mind: 1. Ms. Margaret - If only we could clone Ms. Margaret and put her into every classroom across the country! She is truly an effective teacher that is passionate about sparking curiosity in her students and ensuring they are given the tools to maximize their potential. She effortlessly goes beyond "textbook" teaching to insert micro lessons about everyday life. The students are constantly learning in a fun and memorable way. Ms. Margaret also understands that every student is different, she is very tailored in her engagement. While we did not have the pleasure of working with teachers from the other buildings, I have to assume they are just as spectacular and aligned with the overall vision and philosophy of the school. 2. Relatedly, we were very appreciative of the thorough parent-teacher/director feedback loop at FMS. Parent-teacher conferences are in-depth and productive. We were given the details of our daughter's performance, saw samples of her work, side by side progress in her writing, and tangible examples of her day-to-day/contributions to various activities in the classroom. We were given the gift of learning about our daughter in a completely different setting and were able to understand areas we could reinforce at home. 3. Similarly, the school director - Ms. Yogi - is prompt, accessible and always acting in the best interests of the students. If we ever needed anything, she was very responsive, took action immediately and was incredibly thoughtful in following-up. During my initial tour of the school with Ms. Yogi, I noticed that she not only knew each student across all three buildings by name - but she truly understood each child and their personality/needs. She is an impressive leader and has cultivated a nurturing and emotionally secure environment for her students, while delivering excellence in academics. Within the first few minutes of speaking with Ms. Yogi, I knew this was the school for my daughter. Having meticulously researched and visited most preschools within the area - I can say FMS operates in a class of its own. There is no other school out there that provides a nurturing, yet academically enriching and diverse learning sanctuary.
