DISASTER! If you are looking for a relaxing spa day with your girlfriends this is NOT IT!!!! Over a…read moremonth in advance I booked 4, 1 hour massages. As soon as we got in the car to head to the spa we received a call that one of the staff was sick. It was unfortunate, but we decided to split one massage in two, so that all four of us could still get services. Upon arrival we are told that somehow, our four HOURS of services could now only be THREE 25 MINUTES MASSAGES! This left one of our group with NOTHING. I could understand needing to switch all of the services to 25 minutes possibly, but this was beyond unacceptable. There were two massage therapists working. We were spending 900 euro. Even if the one therapist was not there, how do you explain the 2 hours we reserved with the other therapist not being available to us??? It was supposed to be a relaxing start to our family holiday, and it was chaos. No staff gives you a tour or any guidance, and it's a confusing layout. They clearly prioritize a high influx of the day access to the amenities over services. They had extremely overbooked the day passes, it was mobbed. It was hard to change, walk through the hallways, hang up your robe, enjoy anything at all. One of us who could not get her massage should at the very least had her day access complimentary, but no! I have been to many QC terme's in other areas globally, and I have never been disappointed. This one is in desperate need of proper staff, and serious customer service training. Do not waste your time or money!

Yelp Review 2026 #145:…read more The train ride via Gonergrat Rail from Zermatt to Gonergrat takes about 35 minutes with 5-6 stops. It's 3089-3131 meters high offering the best view of Matterhorn. Each stop has its pros and cons. Our first stop was the viewing platform to see Matterhorn. I got to see a local bird (Alpine Chough) up close that's not afraid of people at all. This place has a hotel, 2 restaurants, a big gift shop, Golden Spot Photopoint, a chapel, and Zooom Interactive Exhibition. You can easily spend 1.5 hours or more here. I spent a lot of time in Zooom. It's an indoor space with lots of information about Matterhorn - from the flora and fauna, first one to climb to the peak, elevation comparison of the most famous mountains, constellations easily seen from Gornergrat. There's a cinema that shows Matterhorn in different weather conditions. There's a VR paragliding that allows you to feel like you're circling around the mountain. A periscope that shows you how rescuers/ mountaineers search and rescue climbers that get stuck in Matterhorn. I checked out different parts of Gornergrat. The chapel is small. The gift shop was crowded with long lines at the cashier so, I ended up not getting anything. The photopoint is just that. But Zooom was definitely my favorite part.

It took us only about 30-45 minutes to walk around the viewpoints outside. The days leading up to our visit, it showed partially sunny weather, but the morning of, the weather showed rain. However we'd already gotten the tickets, so we went but couldn't see any of the mountain peaks due to the clouds. It was cold, windy, and there was some hail, and nothing was open. Unfortunate, but I'm sure it would have been an amazing experience another time. The train ride was smooth, and the staff were gruff but helpful.

Want to step back into medieval times? Then definitely check out the Château de La Bâtiaz. This…read moreis a 13th Century medieval castle built as a fortress, not a residence, in order to protect the neighboring area. No fancy royal balls were thrown here, the only thing thrown here most likely were large objects from a catapult. From Martigny, you need to walk across the river, out of town, and up into the cliffs. It's a short trek, but worth it. Check out the website for information on visiting times. We went during the off season, but were lucky to catch a demonstration of one of the many catapults they have on display in the courtyard as you enter the castle. There is supposed to be a display of torture devices, and while there were a few, I think that either it was shut down for the season, as we went through the turn style without having to pay, or, it was under renovation. We climbed up the tower (which it appears you typically have to pay for, but for some reason there was no ability to pay - you just walked up at the time), and from the top of the tower is a great view of the region. Also, one of the special surprises was that there is a medieval tavern on site. The food was really good! They also appear to put on shows at the castle during the open season. I would definitely go back.

Very original and good medieval food and service :)read more
