Castello di Casole d'Elsa (Castello di Casole, A Belmond Hotel, Tuscany) Tosca We visited Castello di Casole d'Elsa for dinner. It is an extraordinary retreat where history, landscape, and luxury come together in a way that feels almost cinematic. Castello is atop a hill in the Tuscan countryside, the property occupies a restored 10th‑century castle within a large 4,200‑acre estate of vineyards, olive groves, forests, and fields. From the moment you arrive via a winding, cypress-lined road, it feels as though you've stepped into another era (as if driving through a forest). The setting alone is breathtaking, with sweeping views of rolling hills that stretch as far as the eye can see. The atmosphere is one of timeless, laid-back elegance. Despite its large scale, the estate feels peaceful and secluded, offering a true escape from daily life. The historic architecture such as stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and rustic details has been meticulously preserved, while contemporary design elements ensure comfort never feels compromised. One of the hotel's strongest aspects is how seamlessly it integrates with its surroundings. The estate is actively lived in, with agriculture, local production, and outdoor experiences shaping the guest experience. Dining at Tosca ristorante at Castello di Casole was a highpoint. The restaurant highlights traditional Tuscan cuisine, using ingredients grown directly on the estate...olive oil, wine, and seasonal produce. The food was exceptional, with a focus on authenticity and quality. We sampled items like baby squid, bread and oil, tortelli, and seabed amberjack. Service was one of the defining features of the hotel. Our servers were attentive, professional, and personable Memorable meal... Castello di Casole d'Elsa is a nice anniversary splurge that captures the essence of Tuscany in both style and substance. With its extraordinary setting, refined design, and outstanding service, it offers a deeply memorable visit that feels authentic. An immersive Tuscan escape...ideal for travelers seeking tranquility and a truly elevated countryside experience. read more

We had the most amazing stay!!! Every single staff member was wonderful. We ate most of our meals on the premises, and our meals were excellent! Even our driver Marian, our driver for two days, was unbelievable. All of the places he suggested to us were perfect for our group. He was on time and went above and beyond in every way. I would highly recommend Castello Di Casole. You will not be disappointed!!!! read more

There are certain places in this world that deserve a visit. Not because they have beautiful architecture or fantastic gastronomy or the perfect example of nature. But because they are a bit of everything that is represented in what I consider "life well lived". I stole that line from Montage hotels by the way. Anyway, Casole is one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Located in the center of Tuscany just minutes from Siena, Florence, Volterra , Montalcino etc. it not only provides a convenient spot to home base your exploration of Tuscany but it does it with a beauty and experience that you will never forget. The grounds are made up of gardens, olive trees and vibrant colorful flowers. The stone work on the grounds and buildings is old world Italy mixed with a modern day burst of colors. The pool is stunning and overlooks the rolling hills. The restaurants are amazing and food is fantastic. And not to forget the service. Unbelievable. It's like the staff should be dining with you. They are your family but never loose sight of there mission. Memorable experience. Note. This is not a resort you experience on a budget. It is pricey, but value for the experience is well worth it. I must make one comment hopefully for the Belmond executives and directors to read. I struggled between 4 and 5 stars. Now based on my review, there is no question that 5 stars should be in order. Here's my only issue and someone needs to address this at the management level. I have been coming to Casole for years. It is again one of my favorite spots on earth. Recently the timbers company sold the resort to Belmond who is owned by LVNH. This is good to me because I am a big fan of the company. Now the issue. There seams to be a disconnect between the timbers resorts and Belmond. Timbers is still in control of the farm houses from my understanding. Those Of us that have fractional access through Timbers use the hotels services and grounds while we stay in farmhouses it villas. This process in the past was always seamless and without issue. But upon arrival we were greeted very differently. The hotel reception was very indifferent and acted as though we could not use the facility's because and I quote, "we were staying with a different company then Belmond and things like room service may not be possible". Now obviously I got this issue fixed quickly but just the separation feeling between the two company's is apparent. Needs to be fixed. I kept my 5 stars anyway because I think the place deserves it even with this issue. Castello di Casole. A must visit in Tuscany. read more

We had an amazing time here at Belmont Castello di Casole in August 2021. We stayed for three days to celebrate my daughter's wedding. It was absolutely spectacular! Amazing place that we will never forget! Great place to relax and have the greatest time in the world! Alina- thank you so much again for all the wonderful things that you did for us! We loved it there! I cannot express how much we fell in love with the place and the people that work there! Is definitely one of the best places we have ever been to! read more

Our stay here was perfecto! The staff were very kind and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The room was gorgeous and every day was special. The bar has the best drinks made by one of the best bartenders around and the food was to die for. We love good food and this was by far some of the best we have experienced. Highly recommend cycling around the Tuscany landscape to see the countryside from a better perspective than just driving around. The cars are very respectful of the bikes and the flowers around the area are amazing pre-summer. read more
A recently renovated hilltop castle, now a hotel, CdC is a fine choice when staying in Tuscany. Despite being reasonably priced, the property is well-kept and the service is excellent. We were one of the few guests there at the end of March but they said it picks up into the summer. We had an enormous room complete with views of the Tuscan countryside, a huge cozy bed, and a luxurious giant bathroom. The hotel has two restaurants that serve breakfast buffets and casual or more formal dinners. The concierge helped us plan a driver and visits to some vineyards. They also arranged transportation for us coming and going from the hotel. Yes, renting a car and driving yourself is probably a better option, but then you can't taste so much wine ;) For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to own a Tuscan villa, this is a good second choice. read more

I had high hopes as I had been planning on visiting enchanting Tuscany for years. This hotel has been the most overrated I've stayed at yet. First if all, the bedding was so dusty when I laid my foot on the bed a cloud was visible in the air! We proceeded to suffer through horrendous allergies and we believe this to be the main culprit. Secondly, I would have never booked a hotel where I had to eat at the same place everyday. The ads showed multiple dining options and a romantic dinner location. One restaurant was under construction, in June? Therefore we had one restaurant to eat at or the bar, the one romantic location completely under construction therefore we heard the sound of wet saws all morning and literally next to the beautiful pool. The only thing of real beauty worth capturing was the pool. So it was a shame it didnt atleast have music to drown out the construction. Personally I think a letter/email advising us whom are traveling around the world for a first class vacay is warranted. This stay is going to be appx 7k for 3 nights. The AC never worked, was warm and humid. And turndown service was skipped the 2nd night. At $1400 / night, its unacceptable. The fire alarm went off for 8 minutes this morning, we finally gathered essentials and ran out only to find it was a test and would go on indefinitely. Kitchen closes at 1030am and dinner promptly at10pm so if you have jet lag you are not eating that meal. Photos of Tuscany on site ate accurate, the rest of hotel eh. Spa services 1k and worth it. The spa, sommelier Luca, and pool were the only pros of the place. Cant wait to head out today. Most disappointing trip.. off to bigger and I pray better..... Three star resort..no Michelin stars btw dont be misled. read more

Perfection! Perfect spa, perfect rooms in amazing area. Only criticism is the food, the cook might up his game a little bit.
