The owner of this business is truly the Basil Fawlty of the Newsagent trade! My elderly mother had her paper delivered by them and dared to report on three separate occasions that her newspaper had not been delivered. The response from the owner? That she was lying, trying to pull a fast one, in order to obtain an extra free newspaper! To what end, exactly? So that she could read it twice? Or that she could give away the extra copy, something that she could do anyway once she had read it?
This surly and insulting individual insinuated that my mother was a troublemaker and said that he refused to deliver to her in future, all because she informed him that over a lengthy period, three newspapers had not been delivered and he was not prepared to take the word of a customer. He was concerned that the additional cost of replacing three newspapers (which she had not received) was affecting his profits, whilst ignoring the total value of her order over a prolonged period.
Quite how he remains in business when his customer relations skills are this poor, is a mystery. Thankfully, because of this form of social media, others can be advised of a supplier's shortcomings. read more
