At first, I thought maybe it was me and "g" and I just didn't click. Well, hours later and after speaking with others in my cat, I found out it wasn't just me. Comments like "all I did was worry about doing something wrong" or "that guy hates his job" were common. Including from people on the trip I stumbled into at the bar later. The way I would describe the experience was, picture the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) operating a cat skiing company and then getting their grumpiest employee to "lead guide" the experience. I'll skip the poor food and run selection as some of those things can't be helped or aren't that important to me. Bizarrely, and the reason I gave 2 stars, is I met another guide at the same bar I stumbled on to other (extremely) dissatisfied clients and he couldn't have been nicer. His name was Alex. I'd hate to hurt his prospects but I gotta be honest, for me, this experience was a dud. And, actually kinda bizarre. How hard is it for a guide to at least pretend to enjoy his job?

They take safety seriously (which I…read morelike) but will admit if it was my first ever cat skiing experience (which it wasn't) may have been intimidated by the safety lecture and demonstrations before we departed in the cat. As in "what am I getting myself into???". But no need for concern, just be honest about your skill level, choose the right ability level (I'm intermediate) and have fun. Huge playground with tons of acreage to catch great snow. Timing is everything and while we didn't have the fortune of a lot of new snow, there was plenty of great powder in very good condition making it an excellent experience. Guides were friendly and professional and even shared tips w me for improving my skiing (greatly appreciated!). Pluses for this operation over others I've experienced: all skiers were given safety packs to carry including a radio (really liked the radio so I could hear direct conversation between the guides, for me, more information is better than less). Minuses: better, clearer communications on what is and is not included. They do recommend bringing your own water but they have water available. I brought a water bottle and they had water available, but is was hot water. Had I known that I would have planned better. But, not a big deal. All in all, ready to go back!

We returned this year 2025 for a nearly 4 month stay. We enjoyed the hiking very much, but Kelsey ( the campground manager) and the very nice campground is what brought us back. She keeps the washrooms immaculately clean and reservations are done accurately and as requested. She personally advises campers of any upcoming campground events.

Each and every staff member seemed to recognize how truly special Baldface is, seemed genuinely happy to be there, and genuinely happy to have each of us guests there. The service and hospitality in each unique phase of the restaurant, the lodging, and the cat skiing operation was exemplary. What Jeff and Paula have built with the help of their amazing staff is a memory that will last me a lifetime. Sasha kept the trains running on time, dealing with 40+ "adults", some of whom may have had a few cocktails (guilty), and all their gear is a testament to her attention to detail and patience. Kirsten amazing bartender, engaging with all the guests, a pleasure to discuss the elements of hospitality with. Our lead guide Jessica exuded competence, confidence, and professionalism on the top of the mountain and on the slope, while also having some great jokes while waiting for the cat. Tail guide Wiggles kept an excited group of snowboarders and skiers focused and paying attention, as appropriate to the seriousness of backcountry skiing/boarding. Mitch our cat driver had the most genuine and sincere smile on his face every time helping us load and unload that was a ray of positivity. To Homey J and the rest of the crew were all so nice and welcoming. It was the best by far of my 5 different Cat/Heli Ski experiences. Thank you Baldface.

Lost my bucket list opportunity. They canceled my trip a little over a week before I was scheduled…read more They offered me to come a week early... Who can change an international trip with that short of notice? For my inconvenience they offered me 10% off, thanks but that doesn't match up with the inconvenience of changing an entire trip. Also, they didn't help me connect with anyone else that could replace the trip. When I researched other companies there were no other operators in the area with availability or a similar trip. Not only did they cancel but they did it so late I had no other opportunities. To throw salt on the wound, it's going to be a powder day when I was scheduled with them... I would not recommend this company as you cannot count on them to follow through.

He and his team not only offer a shuttle service--to just about anywhere--but they will also help you out in almost another way that you might need. From light housekeeping to grocery shopping, Mike does this, and he does it with a smile on his face! I personally needed a ride to Kelowna for back surgery, and it is very difficult to find transportation there when you need it. And to be honest, I was not looking forward to that long of a drive, (4 hrs.) with a stranger. But you know what? I actually had a good time talking with Mike and his ride-along companion for the day. I cannot say enough good things about this kind man and the service he offers. The inn keepers (a nice couple) are very accommodating. Rebecca is a Red Seal (the interprovincial standard of excellence in the skilled trades) pastry chef, and her pastries were delectable. I seriously looked forward to getting up each morning of my 3-night stay for her breakfast. I can't wait to go back!
