Everything operation/surgeon/nurses-wise, was professional and top shelf. BUT, If you are a Senior on Medicare, and you are going to have an operation, you may want to consider getting all of your POST OPERATION "self administered" drugs prescribed by your own doctor BEFORE the operation. WHY? bc if the hospital fills the prescription at the hospital, you will get stuck with a several hundred dollar bill afterwards. It happened to me and it's unecessary. You Take charge of the post operation, self administered drugs yourself, and just pay the small amount paid by your medicare drug plan. I went to the E.R. because my back had started hurting a couple days ago and had progressively gotten worse. It was to the point I could hardly walk without being all bent over and took me a moment to get moving. I was asked about the pain and where it was at, if it burned when I urinated and it hadn't been. Well, Dr. Leif Meyers decided that I was just there seeking pain meds and instead of treating me like I was a patient he treated me instead like a drug addict who was drug seeking. Basically, told me to make a follow up appointment with my primary Dr and said he could give me tylenol for my pain because they didn't give anything else out for back pain. I said I have been to the ER before and received stronger pain meds than Tylenol and if Tylenol was working I would have stayed home and not wasted my time coming to the ER. So he gives me oxy 5 and sends me on my way, like here you got what you came for, some pain meds. I ended up going up North to the hospital because I knew something was wrong with my back and it's the weekend. I can't see my Dr. So, come to find out I have a major kidney infection and because Dr Meyers was to busy treating me like a pain pill seeking drug addict instead a person who had something wrong with them, he might have caught it. This hospital is awful. They don't know how to treat people. They have done this to more than one person I know. Just assume they want pain meds instead of treating them for a real problem. They don't even deserve 1 star. read more

The doctors are unprofessional. Basically threatening to take my 40+ year old daughters temp rectal because she said she felt like she had a fever. The hospitalist was calling her sweetie and sweetheart on her discharge and saying her knew she would be a difficult patient from the start. This behavior from professionals is completely inappropriate. Shame on them. read more

I would like to know "who" makes the EMS Laws that say "You as a patient can NOT request to "by pass" Castleview Hospital???? I have been looking at the laws for days & have NOT found anything close to what the Practicioner in the ERA room told me. I had gotten my husband home from Utah Valley Hospital on Sunday evening, ( He had spent a week there due to his heart & fluids). Monday morning he was doing okay, then about 10:30 he wasn't feeling very well. at about 11:45 he called my daughter ( I was at Work) things were going down hill fast. My daughter called me; within 4 minutes we were both at the house. I had her call for the ambulance, as he was put in the ambulance he asked to be taken straight to Utah Valley (where they knew what was happening with him); EMS radioed Castleview to say they were by passing & Castleview refused to let them. After 3 hours they decide he needs to be At Utah Valley & 3 to 3 1/2 hours later they call Carbon County ambulance to transport. that ambulance gets part way up the canyon & now there is a bad wreck in the Red Narrows & no one can get thru, since my husband needs to be where there is a cardiologist they call life Flight ( Thank God). I almost forgot to mention that after 2 other emergancies arrived he was taken out of the trauma room, put in another room to wait. So after 6 hours he was finally where he would have been within 2 hours had his request to go straight to Provo been up held!!!!! At about 10:00 am the next morning Castleview has me on the phone wanting me to PAY their ESTIMATED cost before the Insurance has a chance to pay! ( This is a standard proceedure of Castleview, offering a discoount if hurried up & paid. I think the price is doubled & the discount makes you feel like your getting a deal when in reality your are not!! There are NO Cartiologist's at Castleview !!!!!!!! If anyone has any information on patients rights to by pass a medical facility in Utah Please let me know!!!! read more

The experience in the ER was sub optimal. My loved one was "treated" in the ER, after a very traumatic experience, by a nurse who had a very bad attitude toward him. To the point that when he was taken from the room for a test this same nurse said to me "Is he ALWAYS like this?" as a response to his elevated fear of what had just happened to him (while at the same time apologizing to this nurse and telling her she was providing good care). My jaw dropped at this lack of sensitivity and understanding. She continued this bad attitude throughout the visit. We were visiting the area from out of town and even though it was recommended he be admitted, we decided against this and left for our home hours away to a more inviting and welcoming medical community. read more

We love this hospital and its doctors! Our son-in-law was visiting from California and had been bitten by a spider, which resulted in a very swollen hand and lots of pain. We took him to the ER on a Saturday afternoon and had a 4 minute wait! Doctor was quick to put him on an antibiotic IV treatment of 2 hours every 12 hours. Everyone was so nice and friendly. I ended up being transported there by ambulance this week and received excellent care! My husband and I were informed every step of the way as to the treatment/tests I was receiving. Can't come up with anything negative to say about this hospital. read more

Since my husband was in ER that afternoon between evening of July 11th, 2019. That lady came to us and ask for contract. He did told her where to point at me. She turned and look at me then turned away from me. If I am not his wife or whatsoever!! She is the one screwed up on billing!! We did went to Castleview Hospital to met lady who is the one take care of it then she saw then back off, not belong to hospital, the doctor who is the charge us. Why are we not allowed to give a negative amount of stars? or the opportunity to give it 1/8 of a star, after all their Intake Personnel did great, as did the Volunteers that have that coffee and donuts. Due to distances, I have HAD to use the services of Castle View Hospital, and understand now why it was given the name Casket View Hospital by locals. I am a 50% Service Connected Vet, and live 200+ miles from the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, and therefore utilize the Community Services to allow for better medical care. In April I went to the ER due to getting my leg jammed between two sections of Fencing, and had a hemotoma develop, I finished my work and went in to the house. that is when I saw the swelling and the Hematoma. I put my leg up and iced it, but the swelling just got worse. After Calling the VA, the local Clinic and Castle View Hospital, I made the 45 mile trip to the Hospital. I was impressed for the first 10 minutes of my visit, and then it all went to hell in a hand-basket. Nurse came in and did the vitals and the other things associated with getting a patient checked into the hospital. A while later, not exactly sure how long, the nurse came back and asked if I needed anything, and when I responded , "yea, I'ld like to see the Doctor." nurse looked at me, turned and walked out of the room. Finally a lady walked in, said "I am your Doctor, what seems to be the problem." (REALLY in the ER for an Hour before the Doctor comes in, and she asks what is the problem, did she look at the chart?). after about three minutes, without blood tests, without x-rays, OR ANY OTHER medical diagnostic tools, she says, you have blah blah blah, I am going to write you a prescription for these two Antibiotics, the nurse will come and give you a shot of the two to get you started, fill the prescription and take it all, if the blah blah blah is not any better in two days come back, and get in touch with your Primary Care Provider ASAP. Turned and out the door she went. The nurse came in, gave me the shots, said be right back with your discharge papers and prescriptions! So I go in to check for a possible broken bone, and am treated for an infection. May 1, 2019, I again had to go to Castle View ER, as I had gone in for my pre-annual check up blood and urine work. Well my Urine turned out to be Blood, maybe some urine, but you could not tell. The VA Clinic then sent me to Castle View ER. At the ER again they asked for a Urine sample, and again I gave them a blood sample. The blood was thick, it was almost congealed. The lab was unable to give the Doctors any answers, so they wrote me a prescription for more Antibiotics and sent me on my way. Still have no idea the cause. There is only one draw back to living in God's Country, way out in the middle of the State of Utah, and that is the Doctors are the ones that cannot get jobs anywhere else, because of past records, or we get PAs, or a Nurse Practitioners, now a few DOs, but not many real doctors. [I mean that these people were too lazy to complete med school, and instead opted on the opportunity to PLAY Doctor, under the cover of the few Real Doctors. read more

There's a pretty nice hospital. Every tome I get sick these guys get me taken care of. I'm not one to post about or give kudos to doctors because I don't really believe in Americas medical system. Anywhere you go you always get overcharged but that's America for you. However the staff here is super friendly and nice and the doctors are very knowledgeable and Dr. Gagan Dr. Pressat are both doctors I've had take care of some stuff for me and they treated me good. The only complaint I have maybe is just me but they treat you like you're coming in to try to get drugs or something. I get Carbon County has a drug problem but come on out everybody's a junkie here. read more

I have had no problems with the hospital itself. Doctors have been great nurses are grate. However we have had multiple problems with their billing department to the point that I refuse to go there or go to any doctor in town that bills through them. I have to take my daughter to primary children's and have been to other hospitals and not had any problems at all. read more

Its hard that this is the only hospital over in the price area I have had numerous terrible experiences I took my daughter in when she was about 3 with an allergic reaction to something we waited 5 hours to be seen then when she was seen her reaction had cleared up and the doctor took it very lightly and sent us home with practically no treatment they ran no tests and treated her ailment unimportant another time we took my daughter in with a fever the same doctor again treated her ailment unimportant and sent us home with a diagnoses of a virus I took her to her pediatrician the next day she had an ear infection that wasn't diagnosed at the er visit by the same dr Glori allan my daughter broke her arm this summer when I took her in they x rayed her arm we waited 2 hours to be told anything and when I was informed it was indirectly the nurse spoke to my 4 year old daughter asking her arm how it felt because it was broken I believe I should have been shown the x ray and explained the seriousness of the break and given next steps also the drs who set her sling didn't do it correctly so her arm was not properly secured for days before she could get to the Orthopedic dr I've also had incidents where I was told because of my mentall history I was not going to get tests run to rule out blood clots I've felt discriminated against and bullied Glori allan noticed that I had tachycardia and asked if she should run tests isnt it the drs job to rule out conditions by running the nessicary tests thats your job as a dr not mine as a patient I should not feel bullied when I go to the hospital for care neither should my family my mental history has nothing to do with the level of care I receive nor my children read more

The billing dept. at this hospital is really bad. My Blue Cross, Blue shield rep. called them over a bill on 8/21/18 and they hung up on him. On 8/21/18 the billing dept. told myself that the bill in question was payed off. Their billing agency in Nashville, Tenn. said otherwise and kept hounding me over 5 months. Numerous phone calls, and turned me over to a collection agency on 1/23/19 for a $83.85 bill. Their collection billing is NPAS, INC. p.o. box 99400, Louisville, Ky. 40269. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. MY ADVICE TO YOU IS GO OVER THE MOUNTAIN TO UTAH VALLEY where you don't have to put up with this B.S. read more

Wow this place is the worst. The only person to help us was the cute receptionist she was excellent and they took us back within minutes but other then that it sucked. The nurse was rude and in a hurry. It was late around 10pm but that is no reason for bad bedside manners. We understand everyone is freaked out about the coronavirus as well but people still get normal sicknesses. The doctor came in for maybe 2 minutes at the most and told us that we put everyone in danger by coming here if my husband does actually have the coronavirus but then did nothing to test him. All he said was wait it out until his cough is gone. The doctor also acted put out by us wanting a doctors note. So basically we were charged $600 just to be told that my husband has a cough and should stay home and wait it out with some ibuprofen. I won't even get started on how they treated the little girl and the worried dad in the room next to us. read more

Took My granddaughter to the emergency. she had to get stitches, I was real impressed with how quick the emergency staff responded. We was not even done checking in and there was a nurse right there to take her back and get her comfortable and to assess the wound. She took real good care of her and made her as comfortable as she could. Considering all that they needed to do we were out of there within 3 hrs. I felt that was pretty good. The nurse brought her a stuffed animal and some juice and made her fell like she mattered. That was important. read more
