I was told my only options were antibiotics and going to a radiology center in salt lake to have the infection drained instead of removal. The doctors told me it wasn't bad enough to remove. They said that maybe antibiotics could get rid of the infection. I felt better after 24 hours of antibiotics and pain meds. I asked for a second CT scan which showed no improvement. They suggested hospitalization for a week or more which seemed more like a money drain than anything, them just waiting for it to get worse while sucking my money dry. I got discharged the same day of the second CT scan and am heading to Bolivia to have my appendix removed since the US only cares about making money off of the sick and injured. I paid for my treatment same day of release at their financial office in the same hospital building. I got a receipt showing zero balance. Lo and behold the hospital parasite had latched onto me, I paid my bill on May 15, then all of a sudden on June 1 they send me another whopping bill of over $1500.00. This after spending over $14,000.00 on the first bill. Mind you this is discounted for early pay. So just a forewarning, they will charge you and arbitrarily decide to change the price of treatment within I was told they have 30 days to manipulate numbers and play with the facts. These people are greedy for your money just like every other hospital in the country. Appendix surgery in Bolivia is around $1200.00 with a plane ticket being about the same. So around $2500.00 plus a place to stay and you can bypass expensive US treatments. The doctors here don't honor their oaths anyways, so why give them your money or loyalty.

My medical history clearly shows I am under pain management, and I even have MRI imaging on file at their hospital. Despite this, my neck was never palpated, examined, or meaningfully evaluated. The doctor briefly acknowledged reviewing my MRI, then brushed it off and never spoke of it again. I was given a single injection of Toradol, discharged only 30 minutes later, and my paperwork falsely states I was treated for a 'general headache without cause.' This experience left me humiliated, ashamed, and still in pain. I did not go to the ER for drugs -- I went for proper medical care. Instead, I was dismissed, misdiagnosed, and treated as if I were a drug seeker. No patient who arrives by ambulance, in visible distress, should be treated this way. This was unacceptable care, and I hope UBMC takes accountability so others don't go through the same experience.

Worst customer service and on time appointments. My daughter had an appointment scheduled at 4:15…read moreso they asked us to be there at 3:45. After checking in we waited. And we waited. And the sign says if you haven't been called back in 15 minutes visit the front desk. So we did. And then another 15 minutes goes by so I visit the front desk and still no results. No one got up to figure out why we weren't being seen. We waited over 2 hours to from the appointment time to when she was actually taken back. Ridiculous. The technician was the only kind person, who apologized for the "train wreck" as he called it and said that my daughter was never registered correctly. Bizarre that we were so fallen through the cracks for 2 hours!!!!

But please let me reassure you to not always believe what you hear and read online etc. I had a low risk pregnancy, and birth. So my baby didn't need a NICU stay. Which is something this hospital doesn't offer. So if you need a nicu or picu unit for the birth of your child. I would recommend delivering somewhere else. The staff was amazing. All the nurses were so attentive in Labor & Delivery. Everything was honestly as it should be. I also had to take our newborn to the Lab downstairs for a couple heal pricks and it was easy to find, in and out within a couple mins. I also really liked the little cafe they had downstairs. They made me French toast before being admitted and it was delicious.

My mother had been detoxing and she has heart failure and kidney failure. I was extremely concerned with her being in hospice rather than getting the correct medical treatment. No one would listen to me. My mother has survived being put on hospice now four time. A security guard with the name Eric demanded that I delete the pictures and audio recordings of my mother health care or be barred for 24 hours. I said, No! I'm deleting anything from my phone. i asked to file a complaint with Sheila, my mothers patient advocate. Sheila demanded that I must delete the recording and pictures as well. I said no! Three days had passed so i was in the hospital and Juan the security guard pulled me from my dying mothers room and demanded that I was criminally trespassing and I not be on the property for 365 days now. I was escorted from the property like I was a criminal. The entire time my mother was in the hospital she was not getting the right care, I was forced from the hospital by security guards that my mother was in. Juan, Sheila and Eric destroyed what could have been something special to be able to spend the last days with my dying mother. Instead our family will always have the memory of Juan, Eric and Sheila enforcing a policy the hospital does not have just to prove their authority over common citizens such as myself. Dutung the two week period I begged over and over please show me this policy that says an individual can be criminally trespass from the property for not deleting a picture. Sheila explained to me that all policy are internal and can be given to anyone. How can a hospital security team enforce a policy that is not shared publicly due to internal policy? Hie many policies have been violated while enforcing a policy that can not be shared publicly?

I spoke to a receptionist over the phone and she was great and appeared to know what she was doing. In person the receptionist was lost and was very short... I wasn't feeling well and felt more like a number to tick off to get another person in the office... another $ in there pocket... on top of that people came in the office stated there time they had an appointment which was after mine... but where called in before me. After a long wait time and a short visit in the actual dr room they sent a nurse practitioner in. Typically dr office ask if this is okay, but not here. This facility does what they want. After the visit I was sent home saying they don't know what's wrong but that there is fluid build up... I had body aches. White patches on my throat, sore throat and an ear ache. I let the woman know that I've been around two others that had a positive COVID test and she kept saying I didn't have COVID and was insistent on it and didn't test for it. She simply said people that have positive COVID usually have a fever and what I have is a type of virus they don't know about as the strep test was neg. I wanted antibiotics. She said in a couple days if I don't feel better to call and then they will provide antibiotics. when I went back home and crawled into bed after a wasted trip to the dr still feeling crummy I get a call asking for my debit card ( I've paid all my bills with this facility and have a positive credit and have never been late on any bills and the company have funds from over payment as they continue to ask for 85 per person up front rather then my 25 co pay making it so the company has money that I don't even owe them and should be putting towards future co pays) after telling the lady I shouldn't need to provide a card as they owe me money she stated they still wanted a card on file. When I let her know I was in bed and would have to do so later she continued to insist I get my card and provide to her. Again... I owe this company nothing and the woman validated that and said they will not charge the card but stated she still wanted it when I became short due to feeling sick she said I will not be allowed back until I provided them a card to put on there file... and the phone disconnected. it also costs 85.00 per visit that means when I go to the dr and have to take my family in it's $255 up front and then the cost of meds even though my co pay is 25.00 which I've told the company but they charged me the 85 per kid regardless... I've never had such a terrible experience at a drs office update: the next day I went to test Utah and did get a COVID test as I work for the gov and was going into the physical location of work and had to prove it was " just a virus" and the rapid test at test utah was positive... this company does the bare minimum and where completely wrong in there evaluation I will never go back to this facility again. You're better off driving down to price and spend your money on a company who cares about the patients and doctors who do the job they're paid to do.
