This place is a cat lover's wonderland. You get to play with a bunch of cute, friendly cats in well decorated rooms filled with some of the coolest cat toys I've ever seen. The cats seem happy, healthy and well adjusted. It's clear the staff pay a great deal of attention to the needs of each individual cat. The cat areas are amazingly clean, especially for a place with over a dozen cats. The food and drink options are a bit limited, but that's not the point of the place. You'll probably be too distracted by the delightful cats to be too bothered about that. It has become one of my favourite Melbourne attractions. A few things to know: - Sometimes you can get in without a booking, but it's wise to book online in advance as some timeslots fill up. Sessions start on the hour. - The main cat area is up a tall set of stairs and there is no lift so it probably won't suit if you have trouble with stairs. - If you like playing with cats when they are at their most energetic, it will likely be best to come early in the day. They can be a bit sleepy later in the day.

The previous day I had gone to the café at 5pm to see if there were any walk-in spots but the café was full. So, I came back the next day having made a reservation for 4pm. If you arrive around the time you made a reservation for, they'll give you an hour from when you arrive, which was nice because I was only able to get there at 4:10. The café has two levels which the cats go between. Starting on the ground floor I played with some of the cats using the toys that were in the room. When you're there be sure to also check out the adorable ladder that the cats use to go between the two levels. Definitely check the FAQs for their recommendations on times you should visit. When I looked it said that the cats tended to be sleepier from 2-5, and I definitely noticed that the cats were getting more active and playful near the end of my stay The café has an assortment of cute cat-themed cookies, as well as regular coffee and tea drinks. I ordered a vanilla latte which was a bit sweet for my taste. Even though I originally found the entrance fee of $12 to be a bit steep, I had a lot of fun and felt it was worthwhile for a one-time visit. Be sure to check this place out if you're in Melbourne!

Love the concept of a cat cafe. Downstairs is a cat shop with all sorts of accessories, toys etc for your cat. The cafe is upstairs where there are 4 rooms with seating, toys and of course cats. I came in the afternoon around 1pm and of course they were sleepy, bad planning on my part. The lady here recommends coming at the first or last session when they are more active. It's very apparent that these cats are well taken care of! I bought a couple of items in the gift shop for my own felines.

So much low-key fun! We got here early, without a reservation (it wasn't working online the night before), and were admitted without any problems. There were at most six other people there at any one time and more than six cats, so the ratio was good! Given that we were there early, most of the cats were up and around. There were toys that we could jiggle around to engage them. The slumbering cats were fine with gentle petting. I had hoped that the environment would be cool and modern, but oh, well. We over-ordered on the sweets - the menu photos made me think the treats were smaller than actual. And the treats were just okay. I mean, we were here for the cats, after all. My first experience at a cat cafe!

The customer service was absolutely sensational, the lady behind the counter explaining everything to us and going through all the different doggy treat options. There is a doggy cafe and a human cafe, order your pooch a doggychino and yourself a latte, head outside to the multiple different sitting options and admire all the other pooches. They have like gated sections for you to sit in and let your four legged friend off the lead while they wait in anticipation for the goods. Thor was treated to a turkey and cranberry doggycake and a doggychino, both which he loved and kept looking at me like mum am I really allowed to keep eating all this!

The solution was to yell at him. Following this, he understandably continued to bark and so his face was held firmly so he could be directly yelled out. Then a hand was put into his mouth to try further to stop him barking. Interesting psychology to calm a scared puppy!!! Understandably we left without having his hair cut.

After hearing so much buzz about this Larry David themed bagel cafe I knew I needed to check it…read moreout. In a remote area of Thornbury next to one of Melbourne's busiest roads sits a tiny corner cafe with a big mural of comedian Larry David. In terms of theme, that's basically it. No novelty props or signs and definitely no themed names for the bagels. That's all you can eat here - bagels (we are not complaining, how good are bagels!). Larry David's is more of a take away joint. In fact they don't even have plates or ceramic cups for their coffee or bagels. It seems very wasteful for an area of Melbourne that is usually quite Eco conscious. Maybe that's it though, the venue does not really seem to know what it is. At the moment it's a takeaway bagel shop that charges probably a lot more than they should be charging. There are a couple of benches to perch at and devour your food, though no more than 3-4 people could squeeze in for a seat. The coffee is great. Bagels are pretty standard. We had an avocado one which for $10 was pretty plain and also a halloumi and avocado bagel which was quite tasty ($12). We liked that they had some newspapers to read while you waited for your coffee (in takeaway cups) and the records playing good tunes was nice. It's not a destination cafe and for the prices it left us pretty underwhelmed.

The first time I swung by I just grabbed a coffee to go, talked to the owner a bit and took some pics of the Larry mural. I thought nothing of it apart from the lack of seating and ambience. The second time I went by I purchased a bagel, it was kind of average, overpriced and stale... though I couldn't help but think that this was exactly the type of place Larry David would come to... and then complain about. So I went back a third time, but not to take a happy snap, or make Curb jokes that the barista clearly didn't get (seriously?) but because it's the only cafe near by beloved hairdressers and my need for caffeine meant another day, another slightly unhappy customer. Well played Sir.
