Beautiful setting. Mr. Jimenez, Caretaker, was delightful and is a Master Gardener as well.

In 1994, I went on a men's retreat called Walk to Emmaus. This was where the event was held and was sponsored by the Methodist Church. As a young man of only 20 years old, I appreciated the mature men who were around me. Again, young with lots to prove intellectually. Once the retreat was over, we would all meet once a month for our Fourth Day fellowship. I sure miss those times. The grounds and facilities have expanded since I was out there. read more

We had an occasion to stay four nights in their small RV park. They have six pull-through spots with water and 30/50 amp electric. They have no RV sewer available, but the Loves in Weimar has a dump station. While there, we also got to check out all the facilities. The folks who manage the place treated us like personal guests and, because there was no group using the conference facility, we had access to showers, pool, etc. They have a beautiful outside chapel that would be great for a wedding or worship service; an outdoor pool that is open year-round (and great on those hot summer days!); a huge pavilion with a full-size basketball court and and area that could seat a couple hundred people; an indoor dining hall with a kitchen; a nice-sized indoor chapel; and hotel-like rooms with enough beds to sleep over 80 people. This would be an awesome place to host a retreat, club gathering, wedding, family reunion, or a smaller conference. It is a little off the beaten path - about 10 minutes from Weimar, down some country roads - but the setting is beautiful and quiet. It's nice to be so close to services while feeling so rural! Within a couple hours of Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, there are a lot of groups who could make use of this amazing facility. You should definitely check it out! read more
