Volunteers in Medicine is a full service medical clinic for the working uninsured. They have primary care doctors and almost every specialist you can think of, to include, mental health, weight management, just to name a few. I work (volunteer) in the front office checking patients in/out, making appointments, etc and the work is extremely fulfilling! Having said that, VIM held an appreciation dinner for all of its volunteers on Friday, April 20th @ 6pm here. Very nice location and pretty easy to get to as well. The building itself looks nice from the outside, and the parking was doable. I didn't have to park and walk far, mainly because I arrived 10 minutes early and the event was not huge, where there were hundreds of people attending. As soon as you walk into the lobby of the building, the sign-in table was off to the left, the buffet table in the center and small bar area to the right. The room in which we had our dinner was opposite the main entrance, so you had to walk past the food and bar area. As soon as I walked into the dining area, I was very impressed with the setup, table settings and the amazing view of the downtown area. Very beautiful waterfront view. There was even a walk out patio/porch area for you to take great, memorable pictures, get fresh air, or just enjoy the amazing view, however, the weather was not conducive for all of the above this evening. :-( The dinner was great. We had a choice of chicken breast smothered in mushroom sauce, grilled salmon, combination of broccoli and carrots for veggies, cold rice with mandarin oranges and other veggies in it, and dinner rolls. This was my first time having cold rice. The texture was definitely more firm but it actually tasted great! Desert along with coffee was amazing, but then again, imma desert-type-of-gal and I could eat desert as my main dish anyway soooooo.....lol. I would be remiss if I did not mention those who worked the buffet table, the bar and who cleaned up our mess as we finished each part of our meal. They were great! They did not seem irritated as I have experienced in many sit down dinner events and/or banquets. The staff here impressed me with their friendliness and professionalism. A plus is the security they had on the premises inside the lobby. I would definitely return here for a dinner event if the opportunity presented itself.

Plenty of parking (think surface level, 2 or 3 levels and an underground parking too), beautiful river views, gorgeous fountain and works of art inside, and polite and helpful staff. Once you're inside, check in desk is to the left, and my conference room was just straight ahead. Would definitely be back again for other occasions, especially since I have the knowledge of the parking which brings me comfort. Need I say more?

If you consider working with them please ask for the work to be for a fixed fee instead of percentage based. Although he won't want to, get an estimate before beginning work and HOLD THEM TO YOUR BUDGET. If you don't hire them on a fixed fee they are incentivized to run up your construction costs as it also increases what they get paid and they will be happy to expand the scope and cost of their work. They designed nice blueprints but really didn't listen to our vision for our renovation and designed something that was more in line with what they wanted our budget to be and turned out to be pretty worthless to us. Doug never displayed any empathy, attempt to fix, or even an apology.

I had a basic idea and Kamila had so many more great ideas for my new kitchen and I totally trusted her to make those big decisions that would make the kitchen look great. She has a perfectionist eye and can see what needs to be done ten steps before it happens! She is very conscience of a budget and will work with you to save you every penny she can. We did most of the demo and anything that we were confident in doing and with her supervision, it went flawlessly. I used Ikea products and Kamila was a whiz at putting the cupboards and drawers together! She found me the best deal on my beautiful granite countertops and let me use her business discount on paint. We did not require a contractor but others may and Level Up are very well versed in what you need to know and do before you do for any major structural changes. Kamila was amazing in helping pick paint colors, complimenting tile colors and backsplash and she knew what would make colors pop and what trim would make clean finishes. Kamila and Piotr are very professional and are very hard working. They are clean and courteous and understand no one wants their house to be under construction forever! They have a sense of urgency that will encourage everyone to finish the project in a timely matter.
