To top it off the staff is amazing, they make you feel like a friend and not just a customer. Talk to Jason when you get there, he helped me with everything I needed and his genuine good will is infectious, you can't help but feel better when you leave! They sent me an Occupational therapist and a nurse to evaluate my situation. I found both Shauna and Marie to be helpful, informative and very knowledgeable. They and UDS installed railings to help me get into the house and a grab bar in the shower. They also gave me a boost seat which was needed. I'll be able to stay in my house and be safer. NOT ANYMORE 2. they used to actively keep me posted about services and or access to services for my adult daughter, NOW you can spend 20-30 minutes going through their AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM and maybe get a live person. 3. Since COVID they have in my opinion been beyond USELESS. 4. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE, I will be contacting my local State Representative and COMPLAINING. 5. UNFORTUNATELY before I signed my daughter up for this service I didn't realize how MONEY HUNGRY they are. - My reasoning is quite simple 3 years later I find out that if I had gone with a NON-PROFIT organization that people I hire for my daughters care would be getting $21+ an hour. UDS lmao, these money grubers pay less than $13 an hour. (yes I could change the program I put my child in, BUT THEN she would be put on a waiting list, for who knows how long and lose all current services until she is accepted. ACCORDING TO UDS REPRESENTATIVE) -If you end up hospitalized and can't care for your child/parent YOU WILL HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH HOOPS to get them to pay for emergency/extended hours to any DIRECT CARE WORKER over 8 hours a day even though they will be caring for your child/parent 24/7 UNTIL YOU RETURN HOME, IF YOU RETURN HOME.

I've long been a fan since their early days and old location in Bridgeport....... In case you're not familiar with what ReStore is it's a store consisting entirely of donated (new/used) building materials and supplies. It's a great resource for anyone remodeling or doing home maintenance that wants to save a few bucks. Since my last time here they've added a few departments and also now offer furniture. Check here before heading to Lowes or Home Depot because there's a good chance you'll find what you need. Windows, doors, cabinets, tubs, desks, lighting fixtures, paint and more are some of the departments, but there's so much more! Some examples of my experiences over the years: When we needed a vintage toilet lid we found it here - $4? When we tore out our old kitchen we donated our cherry cabinets to them - I'm sure they are living on as extra storage in a garage. When I needed a stainless steel sink and didn't like the price my contractor had quoted I found one here like new for $8. Ditto for 2 bathroom remodels - I got brand new Kohler drop in sinks for $8 each, years apart. When I needed new knobs I got them here for mere pennies. I also needed a small amount of tile for a mosiac project and found it here. You'd be surprised at how many of the products are new! Builders donate leftover materials and change orders here. Stores will donate their overstock. Aside from the new merchandise there's vintage supplies from remodels. They are a great resource for matching up trims. If you are a homeowner make this one of your regular stops.
