I see I'm not the outlier when I say Sue at the front counter treats customers like they're an inconvenience. We had a big flooring job completed by M&Z a couple of years ago, and we returned to chek out samples and schedule an estimate for another install. We were treated very unprofessionally- twice. If Sue treats her repeat customers in such a manner, it should be no surprise to hear others had the same experience. Well lets start out by saying, when you walk in to get the carpet for your place SUE will make you feel like your an inconvience to be their. If your a woman lets hope you have a man with you because thats the only one she wants to address. If you actually purchase the over priced carpet their, youll have an asst manager call you twice, ask you how you would like your carpet installed, verify everything and the the day the installers arrive everything you went over throw it out the window because they didn't listen and they do what they want their way. Then when you have an 'issue or complaint Sue will repeat these exact words' I'm just the sale rep" I cant rememdy the situation for you if they are already their doing the work. I purchased a living room rug from M&Z Carpets and Flooring that required custom sizing. Sue Brothers provided the BEST customer service and product choice. She listened carefully to my needs, gave me lots of time to review M&Z's entire inventory, answered my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully, provided suggestions about measuring, rug placement, and details to consider based on room traffic. I was able to take samples home to determine which rug sample was the best to complement my furniture. She followed up a few days later to answer any additional questions. She made the ordering and payment process so easy! And they delivered and placed the rug exactly to my specifications this morning. The cost of the rug was very reasonable as were the costs of the pad, delivery, and rug placement. I had expected to pay more, given a past purchase with another company. This is one of the BEST buying experiences I have ever had. I highly recommend M&Z Carpets and Flooring and Sue Brothers for any flooring needs. I will be a repeat customer for sure! This is the second time I've used M&Z and I couldn't be happier! As a busy stay at home mom of two young children I don't have a lot of time to mull over flooring options. When I went to the M&Z showroom Sue greeted me at the door and quickly knew where to steer me on the floor to find affordable and durable family-friendly carpet. The installation crew was professional and friendly and it was impressive how quickly they completed the job! I'm so glad we opted to have the old laminate tile removed by the crew because old flooring had been installed improperly and they knew how to get it out with no damage to surrounding areas. Nice people, terrible customer service. They prefer to sell carpet and are better in that area. Hardwood floor is tough here. I was looking to purchase HW in a particular brand and species, stopped in-they were not 100% sure if they carried it, they had to contact another store to get details and a sample board and told me they would call me if it was available. I never heard from them so I bought it else where. When I stopped back to return a carpet sample they were shocked and upset that I bought the HW elsewhere !?!?!?! I explained there lack of follow-up suggested to me that they did not have what I was looking for, they told me they did have it. I did learn that I saved several hundred dollars going elsewhere and they learned an expensive lesson in CS. read more

Made a math mistake and called back a few days later to collect and then denied their promise to discount on next day purchase which I called them on. Tim and I have dealt with M & Z carpets several times over the last 10-12 years or so. They have sold us wall to wall carpet for lower level of one home and several area rugs. I logged on today to see if I could bring up area rugs to look at. We used the store on the other shore as we lived near Hershey. Have NEVER had a problem with any of their products, customer service or pricing. Hence the reason we are going back. Area rugs were used for 10 years by us and are now in son's place. Customer service lacking. Loved the genie sign and promised myself that they'd be my first choice when I needed flooring. Totally disappointed. Maybe they do carpet well but I'll never know because I'm never going back. They sent us across the river on a special trip to select tile from Conestoga Tile. Came to our house to measure the space. Checked in with us a week later to see if the tile guy (not on their payroll) had contacted us- he hadn't. That is the last we've heard from them. read more

Recently moved to the area and went to the Jonestown Road location to look for a rug. The person who waited on me, Doug, was lovely at first. Then things took a turn. He made a pretty large math error when calculating the rug size I needed, then argued with me for a solid five minutes when I corrected him. This included stating several times he has been in business for 40 years. It wasn't until my uncle repeated what I was saying that he said that he made a mistake. He left the room for a moment because a customer came in. He returned to where we were and mentioned that the customer that came in didn't look like people who usually come in, and that if he left to go back in there and didn't come back, we would know why. He then complained about it being New Year's Eve and the guy probably wouldn't buy anything anyhow. When I went into the showroom area, I looked at the gentleman who was the perceived "threat." He was not threatening in appearance or behavior at all. When I returned for the rug, Doug was rude to the person who was going to load the rug into the car. The price was decent, and the quality is fine for what I need. That said, the customer service is quite poor. Doug presents himself as unabashedly elitist and dismissive to females. I will not consider shopping there again. read more

Our salesperson, Sue, did an excellent job helping us find just the right vinyl planking for our family room. The planks came in quickly and the work was scheduled promptly. The installers were great! Right away, they brought to our attention that the subfloor that was supposed to be installed was not high enough and were able to fix the problem (at no additional charge to us). They did a great job! And we LOVE our new flooring! Would definitely use M&Z Carpets, Mechanicsburg again. read more
