I had no idea what this place was. I just saw a cute pup on NextDayPets.com that fell in our price…read morerange. It wasn't until I went to the pet store that I started to worry. The trainer asked where I got him & said, "oh, Lancaster county" which raised my suspicion. I knew I shouldn't have looked but I searched for the last name online & found this Yelp page. I started putting it all together & I just got angry. Upon the vet visit 4 days after getting Sammy, he has a severe yeast infection in his ears and has tested positive for Giardia for a total of $400 in vet bills AND has to go back to be tested in a month for another $80. Do not support this place. Stay as far away as possible. I'll be happy when this headache of health issues is over and (hopefully) this place is shut down. UPDATE: Sam still has Giardia, even after 2 rounds of treatment. He's experienced constant eye ulcers which require a visit almost every month. Luckily for us though, everything else seems fine. No heart issues (yet), no other eye problems or genetic issues.

The workers are very nice, and you always have something to do, weather it's walking the dogs, doing the laundry, or cleaning the litter boxes, it shows how much these people do every day. Where most rescues charge very high adoption fees for giant breed dogs, the $20 application fee allows them to charge lower rehoming fees while still providing the dogs with the medical care they need. They take in a number of cases that I'd personally consider to be "lost causes" and the really great foster families help see them through sometimes multiple surgeries to get the dog back to healthy condition. Their rules can seem strict, however, the dogs that make their way into rescue have already been through so much. The rescue's goal is to do their very best to set up the dog for success. Just because a home may be a great home, it doesn't mean that it's a great home for that particular dog. Not every dog will fit into every home and vice versa. That can be hard to hear, but even as a volunteer, they wouldn't let me adopt if I wasn't a great fit for a particular dog I wanted.
