I had dental work that needed to be done for quite a while, but I was extremely anxious about choosing the right dentist. Over the years, I'd been told by other offices that I needed very expensive and aggressive treatments that didn't feel right to me, and unfortunately I had a few negative experiences where I felt rushed, overlooked, or forgotten entirely at appointments. That created a lot of anxiety, especially considering how overwhelming and expensive dental care can be. I found El Dorado Hills Dental through a referral from someone who works in the dental field, which immediately made me feel more at ease knowing it came from someone knowledgeable and trusted. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The space was welcoming and calm, the staff was kind and attentive, and it didn't have that typical overstimulating, clinical dentist vibe, it felt relaxed and comfortable right from the start. I shared my past experiences and concerns with Dr. Austin Cope, and during my exam he was incredibly communicative and thorough. I really appreciate understanding what's going on with my mouth, and he took the time to explain everything in a way that was clear and empowering rather than overwhelming. He constantly checked in to make sure I was comfortable, and honestly, it felt more like talking to a friend than sitting with a dentist which was incredibly reassuring. Together we came up with a treatment plan that felt thoughtful, reasonable, and genuinely in my best interest. I never felt pressured or rushed, and everything was explained clearly so I felt confident moving forward. I went in yesterday to have the dental work done, and I was completely blown away. The entire experience was smooth, calm, and handled with so much care by Dr. Cope and his team. I felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for the entire time! The office got me in the same day I called and I was lucky enough that he was able to do the extraction at the same time. Instead of waiting to do it under sedation I chose to have it done under local anesthesia. I felt no pain at all during the procedure from injections to sutures. I was given very thorough post op instructions. I want to give a shout out to Adrian, the surgical assistant also. He was awesome! A few days after my extraction, a close friend called me wanting to know who my oral surgeon had been because she broke off one of her front teeth at the gum! They were able to get her in very quickly and she will see him tomorrow.

The procedure was something I was dreading for years, but it wasn't bad at all. Forced me to change some bad habits, turned my gum health completely around--all while giving such excellent care. He is gentle, he explains everything, (I hate that I'm not sure of her name) Stephanie??, his dental surgery assistant, is amazing. They both put me at ease and are genuinely caring about my experience. His whole team (front office!!) is wonderful. Friendly, compassionate, communicative. The only things I don't like? He's about a half-hour drive from my house AND he isn't a general dentist. I'd drive as far as I had to, to get the kind of care I get from this office. Keep up the good work, people!
