My husband has been going to this local dentist for sometime now and my daughter and I finally decided to schedule a visit to see what it's all about. Being on his insurance definitely pays for itself for dental cleanings and they were very gentle with my sensitive teeth! They said our daughter had the best teeth they've ever seen for her age with zero cavities and Naomi said my teeth and gums were very healthy! Three main problems with this dentist - #1 - the doctor is not proactive in any way. I grind my teeth and the dentist nor the hygienist ever recommended a mouth guard? In my opinion, the dentist wanted me to break my teeth so he could fix them and make easy money! #2 issue - If you are into a sloppy dentist that recklessly goes 100 miles per hour when he works on your teeth, then this your guy! Shoddy and sloppy work is the result. #3 watch out for the fishing expedition to find things wrong with your teeth. When they can't find anything they make it up! In my case the dentist found non existent cavities. This dentist put a filling in my tooth and did a shoddy job that made me have to get a root canal and a crown! In my humble opinion, RUN! You can do better. Skip this place! Keep in mind this is Just one man's opinion, along with several second opinions from local dentists. read more

I've been going to Orangevale Dental with Dr. Alaswad and his team since he first saw me in an emergency appointment 13 years ago for an onlay that completely broke off. This morning, I was brushing my teeth with my spiffy new electric toothbrush (woohoo!) when much to my surprise, a filling came flying out of my mouth. (This just happens with fillings sometimes for a variety of reasons.) Luckily, I wasn't in pain, but I did have a giant hole in my tooth, so I wanted to get it fixed ASAP. Remembering what Dr. Alaswad always says, "Just call us if you have any pain or problems," I did just that as soon as I could! Eileen was able to fit me into the schedule today, and my filling was good as new in less than 30 minutes with NO PAIN! Last dental service was on Nov 3, 2022... I had a bad experience at another dental office, so I gave this office a try. The difference was like night and day. Orangevale Dental Group gets a high recommendation from me. I am retired and have no dental insurance. However, I retired from a large and well-known company, and have great benefits -- even in retirement. Every year my ex-employer funds a generous Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) for me. I pay my dental expenses, and then get reimbursed from the HRA. After paying another dentist office for a deep cleaning (aka scaling) on the left side of my mouth, this other dentist office could not provide me with documentation in the format that my ex-employer required. After submitting a request for reimbursement and being rejected, I asked this dentist office if they could help. They said they could not. They could do nothing for me. Their documentation of my deep cleaning was confusing and unacceptable to my ex-employer, and I would not be reimbursed if that documentation was not fixed. But that was my problem -- not theirs. I could not get reimbursed. So I left that other dentist and came to Orangevale Dental Group. Their first job was to deep clean the other half of my mouth. No problem. Orangevale Dental Group did the work, and gave me documentation in the correct format. I was reimbursed quickly. And I was charged one-sixth of what I paid at the previous dentist! Why should deep cleaning the left side cost 6 times as much to deep clean the right? I hope to have a long, happy relationship with Orangevale Dental Group. This one is a winner! read more

Samir is fantastic! Most hate going to the dentist however Samir in NOT your regular dentist he make you feel very personal and gets to know you personally. I have seen Samir for a few years now and every time I see him as he has many patients he is NOT like your regular dr/dentist "in and out and on to the next patient" this is NOT how Samir is what so ever. He always asks me how things are doing? How's work? How did that housing project go? (As a contractor we spoke about large a building contract I was starting the last time I seen him a year prior) He also took care of my nephew for me who had absolutely no medical insurance and had genetically bad teeth and needed full dentures. Samir let me pay out of pocket to do all of his dental work and seen that I was taking care of a family member and said "you take care of your family" where most dentist would charge me $10000 dollars for all of his extractions and then all of the impressions and full upper and lower dentures. Samir recognized I was helping a family member and did EVERYTHING for less than $3000 for me because it was family!! We also have a child we are in the process of adoption as we speak and Samir seen her for FREE and took care of her dental work (cavities/x-rays ECT...) and never charged me a PENNY because we were adopting her and he respected the fact that we were taking a young child 12yr old that had no parents and stuck in the juvenile system. This dentist office is absolutely amazing... I had a huge hole in my back molar that the nerve was completely exposed... I was in so much pain I haven't slept in 2 days. So I called Orangevale dentist group because they were the closest to my home and they got me in right away as an emergency appointment.. between the front desk ladies and the dentist himself were all so sweet and understanding and patient with me. I might add that I have a very high anxiety when it comes to getting any dentist work done so bad that I need anesthesia. They did have nitrous switch totally helped me. They took care of me and my pain within a couple hours even though it was a Saturday. The dentist himself was so calming and was so understanding of my anxiety he helped me so much through the whole process.. even the ladies who helped him were just as amazing. I highly recommend this place.. If I ever need any work done in the future I will definitely be coming back to them. The only downfall was that they didn't accept my insurance which is Medical but their prices wasn't through the roof so they totally work with me.. I needed dental work done but was tired of having dentists tell me I needed procedures that weren't necessary just so they could make more money. I called 1-800- dentist and Orangevale Dental Group was recommended and very close to where I work. I went for my first visit and I hope I never have to go anywhere else. The office has no frills and that's fine with me. Dr. Alaswad was extremely nice and put me at ease and his staff is great. The Dr. didn't try to sell $8000 in extra work like others had.
