I've actually been wanting to go back to Cavenders back in Austin. But I saw there was one in Killeen across from where I was. Had to come and check out. Maybe they would have different items. I did notice their Jean selection isn't as large as the Auston store. That was disappointing. I was looking to get another pair of Grace jeans. I did walk around. And tried on a couple tops. Was nice shopping around. I didn't buy anything from this store. But it was nice to see the difference in stores from a different town. read more

Walk in to 5 employees in the front one in the back all talking amongst themselves. Didn't even offer help, won't be going back.

Bought myself and my 3 year old a daughter pair of boots. Boots for her fit well and she loved them. About an hour after wearing them (out of the store) she started scratching at herself and saying they were "too pointy" inside. Looking on the inseam of the boots the folds of leather and glue used left sharp edges of leather and glue. This is leaving my daughters legs all red and irritated. I called and asked what I should do / how to fix that and the managers response was "I don't know what to do and it's too late to return them" Y'all are a joke- I called for help for my little girls boots because this was our first pairs and ya don't give a heck because we're already out the door and assume I just wanted a damn return... read more

I love Cavenders but after purchasing two pairs of jeans from them and having them rip after wearing them once is ridiculous. I'm a pretty skinny person and I even got a size up because I wanted the jeans to be baggy on me a bit and they just ripped so easily. 70$ a pair of jeans but they didn't even last a week and ripped like 15$ jeans. Awful customer service!!! Employees did the bare minimum and greeted us but when help was sought out they didn't look into inventory or assist any further. There were several employees that were rude when approached and when we checked out the employee was asked about boot care and he did not know what products to recommend. This place is freakin' AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So on our most recent trek to visit family in Texas I finally convince the man to let me get a pair of cowboy boots. I had them all as a kid and have wanted a pair for a LONG time as an adult, but the family rule was NO. Anyway, I convinced him after shoveling 12 wheel barrels of horse doo doo that I deserve them! So anyway, we cruised over to Cavender's. They had soooo many options both for boot, but pretty much any other piece of clothing you may want as well. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. If I had one complaint at all it was the actual process of making the purchase. A salesman help me in getting my boots then he took me to the front counter and wrote up a sales ticket (I'm assuming they work on commission or something). He said someone would be right there. Well I waited along with several other people while employee after employee walked by. Each giving a friendly acknowledgement and noting that someone would be right there. Eventually the official cashier arrived and took care of us. I wasn't super butt hurt by the wait because everyone was so friendly, but just a tip in case that kindof thing really gets to you or if you're in a super hurry. read more

If you can handle agressive sales people this is a good place. They have a great selection of Western wear. Be prepared to have a salesperson hovering over you, though. I think the sales people here work of of comission, so I can understand. To be fair, I spoke with a manager, and he apologized for the behavior of one of his employees. Great experience. I shopped at the store as an out-of-towner who was working at Ft Hood for a few days. Bought three real nice shirts off the sale rack for a little under $100. Not bad, huh? But when I got home to VA, I found that one of the shirts didn't fit. In the store I had tried on one shirt for size, then picked out a second one (same maker, what looked like the same style) without trying it on. Turns out I picked two different styles and (as luck would have it) the one I didn't try on didn't fit. Even though it was was fault, the store handled the exchange without any drama at all. I recommend the place just based on customer service. And about the staff being "like car salesmen": not my experience at all. A few of them independently asked me "are you doing ok?". I don't see how that's a problem, given the lax service you find in most retail stores. read more

Let me just start off by saying, I really like really this boot store! However, I am giving it only 3 stars because of the guy that works there named Dan. I'll explain.. So it was my mom, sister and I. It was a hot day outside so I was wearing a dress. Not like a party cocktail dress but a longer dress and Dan kept staring at me and kept coming over and asking us for help. Now I know what you're thinking "oh hes just trying to help" but there comes a point where enough is enough. This guy, every 13 seconds would ask is if we needed help and was constantly just starring at us. We told him that If we needed anything we would let him know. But sure enough a few seconds later he would ask again. He literally wouldn't leave either. Just sat there. 10 feet away. Watching us. It was awkward. Every time I'd bend over he was watching. It was creepy. My mom said it felt like he was in a dressing room with us. At this point we had picked out two pairs of boots, two shirts and some perfume. We were ready to put it all back and leave empty handed because he was following us around like a lost puppy. ... And then came the nicest girl.. Toni. She ended up making it all better. Came by one time and gave her our business. (Because they work off commission) and Dan saw this and got pissed off and threw his hands in the air. Lol whatever. He was weird. read more

Went here with Mom to find her some nice fancy jeans for her class reunion in Wisconsin. The girl who helped was nice but was very intrusive and just a tad rude. Found Mom's jeans in no time and had started to look for boots. At this point Mom is just trying to find that one boot that "spoke to her". The girl just didn't seem to understand that saying. She would come back to check on us and would walk away talking. The way she would talk to us seem rude but not very rude. I don't know how to describe it. Employees were incredibly awkward and made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. I had a shirt in my hand and an employee ran after me shouting "I can hold that at the counter for you!" Okay? No need to chase after me for it. They continued to do the same every time I had something in my hand. Then at the counter everyone just awkwardly stared. I love the boots, but honestly why was the man on the cane following us around everywhere? I'm not sure if he was the manager or something. But he asked if we needed help, my husband told him no. Then the guy watched me try on every pair of boots and barely spoke. Did he really think I was going to walk out without paying or something? We were the only customers in the building. I'm a retired CSM (2012) who started wearing boots at age six. My advice to all Soldiers: stay away! Went here three times in months after it opened to test it; only bought pants (easy to compare prices on pants). These guys make their money on boots, and are textbook outside-the-gate predators. Great selection; horrible prices. Brother and Sister Soldiers, please, be smart with your hard earned money. If your not trained on boots, be nice and go here to learn if you must; try on what you want; get your exact size; then go on-line and get the exact same boot, from the same maker, for 50-60% less (no kidding) with free shipping/exchanges to boot (pun intended). This store's prices are crazy, because they know with so many Soldiers from all over the country, they can exploit them. Many just don't know boots well enough to know better, and thus defend themselves from these outrageous prices. Outsmart these guys and they will have to legitimize this business. Just one example: 600+ for goat/cow Luchesse here....really.....check it out; see for yourself....$299-350 tops anywhere else. Predators..... read more

We went there looking for clothes for my fiance' to wear at our wedding. The staff were great! We were older (60's) and they sized him, pulled different items for him to to try on, and even ordered a couple of things from their other stores, when sizing was a problem.
