This is a delightful and sunny spot for lunch on your way to the East or to Cawdor Castle. It is also very near Culloden. The food is excellent and the service is superb! I thought my salmon and risotto was outstanding and my wife's Halibut stew was equally good. The service here is friendly and inviting so I would encourage you to stop here for a great meal or a snack. The interior is richly inviting and they have a beautiful outdoor area as well.

Very nice Scottish Tavern on the way into Inverness. The people are so friendly and definitely a local gem. The food was just delightful. The ambiance was very easy on the eyes and mood in the Tavern made you feel very homey. This is the establishment that introduced me to Scotland's own Drambuie Liquor and I've been hooked ever since. They have a very nice Scottish menu and the Trio of Scottish puddings with white pudding, black pudding and haggis topped of with chutney that provides a very savory taste and each bite packs a Scottish punch of goodness. I've only been there once but it was enough for me to try everything as my Scottish Family each ordered something different such as the Chicken Culloden, Slow Cooked Scottish Beef Steak Pie, and the Fish N' Chips. For desert I tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding along with a double shot of Drambuie and whiskey coffee.

This is a MUST VISIT if you're in Inverness. I was lucky enough to get to chat with Bruce…read moreMacGregor, one of the owners, and listen to him play. His passion, talent, and story telling is unmatched! The roast dinner was delicious and the cocktails were so fun! They take great care with the details around the pub, giving nods to history while pushing forward progress within the re-adoption of traditional Scottish music. Come for a drink or a meal, and stay for the vibes, history, and immense talent on stage.

Re: Delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding…read more To the Greek couple we met in Inverness, with great apologies, we suffered confusion of which delicious desserts we had at various restaurants around the city, inadvertently directing you towards a place that did not serve sticky toffee pudding. We should have pointed you towards MacGregor's as having the most delicious sticky toffee pudding, now verified after having several others that did not perfectly balance sweet with salt as that of the sticky toffee pudding at MacGregor's. If the pub is full, please find your way to the end of the bar and the small door to the left that takes you to the cosy table service room where Jess and other wait staff, including little Nala, will take the best care of you. We also highly recommend the steak & ale pie and fish & chips, should you require something a bit more than the sticky toffee pudding. Again, apologies, and we are certain you will have a fantastic experience at MacGregor's!

That was the case here, as two young women seemed to split the service for our group of five. Neither one seemed to feel any responsibility for our table, or to be interested in actually serving. Just ordering water was a chore. There were mistakes in the drinks and food order, eventually rectified. But they saved the worst for the end. We told each in unmistakable terms that we would like to box/wrap approximately half of three meals so that we could enjoy desserts. Later, after the food taken away failed to re-appear, we were told, "There's been a bit of a mix-up." All the food had been thrown away. I feel badly for saying so, because the food was excellent and the venue a pleasant one. But this was the most lackadaisical service we received in five weeks of European travel.

Very friendly server, beautiful views and a good overall vibe. The food was very good, especially the steak and ale pie. We were a bit travel-weary at this point, and Bandstand was a perfect spot to have a relaxing, low-key meal and bracing drinks while enjoying views of the water. Pay them a visit!
