I don't know that I'd travel out of my way to stop here, but if you're in the area and are craving food with a view (and have time to spare) this is a solid option in my opinion.

We had the cheese plate, the bifana, and the meat croquettes. The bifana was surprisingly different than I expected, but tasted like a beef stew dip sandwich. The meat croquettes were filled with some super soft meat inside, and the favorite was the cheese plate with a huge bowl of toast and bread.

Admittedly - it was clearly designed so that it could function at night, when my hunch is that it's more likely to be an absolute madhouse, and it probably a bit feels more like a nightclub. Good thing for me, then, that they're open, and I visited, at 2 PM on a Friday, when they only had a few customers, my favorite sort of vibe for a bar. Yes, they do have extremely suggestively murals up all over the place, because they're committed to the bit (committed enough that if it turned out they were actually also a secret brothel to this day, I'd be like... yeah, that'd track. To my knowledge they are in fact just a bar, though.) But at least when they aren't busy, it is *also* one of the small number of proper craft cocktail bars I found in Lisbon while I was there. Their cocktails were 12-14 euro as of when I was there a few months ago - which a couple years ago would've felt a little pricey, but now feels pretty par for the course. The menu cocktails were mostly all prebatched, but have clearly been prebatched freshly and with *purpose*, as the two cocktails I tried here were *quite* good. One with gin, roobois, ancho reyes and yellow pepper, and one, I was excited to finally see, using Beirao in something more interesting than just tonics or spritzes, with pisco, Beirao, pineaple and eucalyptus. Great presentation, great drinks, and again at least as of when they were least busy, quick service (as you would expect, given that, again, it is mostly prebatched.) That said, if like me, you only speak English, ymmv - the one bartender when I was there spoke English like a native English speaker. Great bartender, too. Then he left and another bartender took over, who spoke zero English whatsoever. As it turns out, you also don't need to speak the same language to order a drink off a menu and then pay for it, though, but it is still *nice* speaking the same language as the bartender.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a lovely woman who told us a cool story about the hotel, gave us a bottle of wine, and showed us how to get to our room. When we arrived in the room, the thermostat read 30 degrees (86f). We figured out how to turn the air on, which, at full fan was a trickle at best. After speaking to the front desk, we were told that, yes, it was in fact hot, but it would be looked at. It was, but no solution was given. At around midnight, another person came up to check, apologized profusely for how hot the room was (now at 28c/85f) and left to hopefully go find a solution. He did not. When he came back he again, he apologized and asked if I would stick it out for the night even though it would be difficult to sleep in hopes that a fix could be found in the morning. After about 60-90 minutes of sleep and lots of frustration, the next morning I had to hunt down the staff in hopes that there would be a fix. The staff member (a new one) came and again checked out the room, apologized profusely, and asked if I would be willing to change rooms. I said absolutely yes. After about an hour or so, he told me via WhatsApp that changing rooms would not be an option and the only solution is if the technician could come fix the air conditioning. Several hours passed, and at 4pm I was told that the technician had come and said that there was nothing wrong with the ac, even though the thermostat still read 28 degrees. I went back to the office to get my cancellation and refund and was denied that opportunity. The staff member (the same very lovely lady from before) tried to get her manager to reason and help, but he refused, and said that he would come speak to me but I had to wait 30 minutes. 45 minutes passed and I had to go downstairs AGAIN to see where he was. He came up the stairs and immediately started interrupting me, not listening, accusing me of lying, and didn't even offer to give a refund, cancel my upcoming nights' stay, or make anything right. He then said, after going up to room and feeling the heat himself that he could switch my room with somebody else, not solving the problem, but merely passing it on to another customer. During that conversation, he: · Interrupted me at every chance. He never let me explain the issue because he had already made up his mind. · Told me I left all the windos open which caused the ac to be off, but then changed his story to just one shutter · Accused me of bullying him, when he insinuated that my size is what caused the room to "feel" too hot. · Accused me of calling him and his colleagues various names, when I only said that it was "dumb shit" (possibly a language barrier issue) · Acted erraticly, and thought he could use my frustrations against me. · Spoke about me right in front of me in Portuguese, unknowing that my partner could understand. This was just the beginning. We ended up eating the cost of the room and leaving because of the abuse and terrible treatment by the manager. His name, he said: was "lulu. Because it doesn't matter". He wouldn't even give me the respect or professional curtesy of telling me his name, but accused me of being the bully. Just arrived to my new hotel, the Docas, where I was greeted with a smile, given some snacks, AND they even called the owner of the fado bar I have reservations to so that I would have a great experience! And the ac works! Stay away from this hotel.

Awesome place!…read more ((Paid 13€ for our hookah)) It was the perfect sized spot. They also respected social distancing and had a table length apart from each group. When we got here we were immediately greeted by our waiter who was really attentive the entire time we were there! We ordered "lady killer", it was a mint/mango/ice/peach mixture (if I remember correctly) and it was so tasty!! Not too strong but a great blend of flavors. The hookah itself was really great and blew a lot of smoke. We sat on a pretty comfortable couch and the music that was playing was amazing. Not too loud where you couldn't talk to the person next you, but not too low where it's a bit awkward. It was a techno vibe, great playlist! When we sat down we immediately asked how and if they were cleaning the hookahs and how. Our waiter answered back really quickly and without hesitation that they were cleaning the hoses and hookah itself after every guest (with alcohol and cold water). First, this place is a must if you want an easy way to see amazing views of pretty much the entire city, which includes the Catelo de Sao Jorge. It worked out well that this was a last spot in Lisbon because it gave us a great last memory of the city (not counting the airport). Since we visited on a late Sunday morning, we were the only folks on the roof, so we had very "personal" experience. ;) However, I think this probably isn't the case after late afternoon because I can see this as a potential hotspot. Although we stuck to simple cocktails and beers, the bar has a pretty decent food menu with a bunch of items for folks to enjoy. Personally, I went with and stuck with the passion fruit margarita. For me, this beverage had a perfect blend of sweet and tart with a potent amount of tequila. For the roofbar aspect, I thought the cocktail prices (around 15 euro and up) were in line with a hotel bar (at least for US standards). Overall, the service was great because we never had to wait too long for another round of drinks. This spot definitely will remain on the list of things to-do.

And you're directly facing the Castelo de Sao Jorge. It's very intimate and there wasn't a lot of people when I was there. Since the Santa Justa lift is closed, one of the best locations to see a very similar view. I will say it was extremely difficult to find it at first. That is the main reason why I didn't get my five stars. The GPS gets confused because it's located on the second floor and so it keeps taking you down the street of the santa justa lift. I was getting so frustrated because I was looping around a bunch of times. In order to find it, you have to go to the Carmo convent and it is behind the Museum. Otherwise, though it has a classic drink menu for a decent price. There's around 50 people worth of seating covered and uncovered. I will say, though when the sunset happens, you're completely shaded by buildings and so it's on the cooler darker side until they turn on the lights.
