Arrived at store and saw a sign that said cash only, despite the fact that they have visa and MasterCard logos on the door. Sign literally said "Cash Only, but we have an atm in store". So I'm like ok. I already knew what I was going to buy and I don't carry that much in cash on me. So I go in and I'm like, would you take a check? She says no but we have an atm machine. I'm like ok, does the atm have a fee to use? She says yes, $3.00. So my choices are go to my bank or a 7/11 that doesn't charge me a fee or pay you $3 so I can then buybsimething? She then tells me that they don't get the money, it's the atm company etc..I tell her it's their atm, it's on their property, unless I happened to bring cash with me using their atm is my only option because they don't take credit cards and they don't take checks so yes THEY are charging me. Argument ensued and I left the store. This is my thing, if you don't take credit cards or debit cards that's fine, even though they did before. However don't try to SCAM me for a measly $3 so I have the privilege of doing business with you. I find it ridiculous that you expect me to pay you so that I can buy things from you. No, I'll go to one of the other seemingly 100 CBD stores that aren't trying to force me to use their atm machine so they can scam $3 off me. Ok, let me preemptively respond to the reply that it's not a scam, it's optional, it's the fee from the ATM company blah blah blah. First of all I don't care whose fee it is, it's your atm machine, it's in your store, it would not be there if it didn't benefit you. Second, don't act like you're doing me a favor by providing an atm machine so I can give you paper currency, you are not doing me any favors. This is not a convenience for me, YOU have inconvenienced me by not acting like a real business and accepting modern forms of payment. Third, ok if you say it's not scam, cool, just refund me three dollars or give me $3.00 off whatever I buy. That would be better, I'm just blown away by the audacity of a business saying they won't take credit, debit, or check, only cash BUT that's ok because we have an on site atm you can use and it'll charge you $3 for the privilege of shopping at my store. Frustrated and left. Went home, soaked syringe in hot water. It did not work. Went back to the store. Clerk pulled syringe apart, coated it with alcohol. After aggravating conversation, was told: "I gave you a free syringe when you bought the bottle." Expressed my disappointment. Clerk finally gave me another syringe. Went home the "fixed" syringe didn't work, but the new one did. I am trying to administer care giving to an elder. I ain't time for that, and I ain't goin' back. CBD Minus.
