One of the many coffee blends available to buy in shop!

Small, friendly and great place to indulge your coffee and chocolate habit! As soon as you walk in you can smell coffee right in your nose. Coffee was marvellous. Buy a bag of the Cranston Hill home blend just to sniff on the way home lol! Great place to go right in the heart of glasgow.

CC&T is yet another brilliant little cafe in an area that you would think is saturated with brilliant little cafes (you'd be wrong, the appetite for caffeine in Finnieston is limitless). I've dropped in a few times for a morning coffee and croissant and I've always been pleased with the quality of the coffee and pastries as well as with how friendly and helpful the staff are. As fair as I'm aware they don't offer a loyalty scheme or any early bird deals or anything like that, but the prices are certainly fair for the quality you get. It's not generally an obvious place for me to stop for lunch however, finding myself nearby and caught in a very Glaswegian downpour I decided to take shelter and try the food. I opted for a chorizo melt panini which came with a small salad and some crisps. Salad and crisps were pretty standard but the sandwich was delicious - I'd definitely order that again. Same goes for the matcha latte I ordered to go with it. They roast their own coffee beans here on Mondays and you can buy bags of them to take home with you. I've not tried that yet but there's nothing quite like freshly roasted coffee so it's only a matter of time.

Basic but what else can oh do with an egg and bread

Really needed food and with the local road works giving me a headache I stopped here to release the hanger No menus as such, just a few blackboards scattered around with breakfast stuff or coffee I'm sure I spotted sandwiches on Yelp pics so I asked and they didn't have a menu for these, they just make them up for you..... But I don't know what you have ... Do I really need to ask what filling you have and then decided while you awkwardly stand staring at me Anyway chose my go to salmon sandwich and a poached egg on toast just in case either was small or unappetising .... Did I mention I was hangry? The sandwich came in a baguette with some salad and Doritos decent size and a pretty good taste, fresh salmon with a peppery seasoning Poached egg on toast was just that nothing special I did order a flat white and added a sweetener to remove the bitterness of the coffee, I'm not a bitter coffee drinker, however once sweetened I really enjoyed the coffee blend Writing this as I drink the coffee so I'm unsure of the sandwich cost..... I may review this should they hit me with an unexpectedly large bill..... Another negative for not having a menu is unable to see if you're being charged more than you should be! In all fairness the guy serving is lovely and the food came quickly, just nothing stands out as amazing for me to have it as a go to place. If passing I won't hesitate to grab a coffee

I don't have a ton to say about this cafe. I stopped in after a haircut to read and drink some hot chocolate. It was not too different from most of the cafes in Glasgow. Nothing exceptional, nothing bad. They did have some Nutella-y looking chocolate spread for sale, but sadly I didn't have enough cash on me for a jar.

A couple of years ago, their shop expanded to include a little café, where you can enjoy their chocolates with a hot drink. My favourite combination has to be tablet and a tea with no sugar, so you can get the contrast in the two. I bought a box of the chocolates for Maw once and she said they were fantastic, although they're the kind of ones you can only eat 2 or 3 of at a time. Anyhow, I recall her excitement at finding this place a while back but never having been in. I took it upon myself to do all the work and pick her up some chocolates for a mini-celebration. They might have been better than the ones I have just worked through from Marks and Spencers I got from Christmas, and were certainly better than Thorntons. Everything in Thorntons sort of tastes the same, in the same way everything in McDonalds also tastes the same. The staff were friendly and chatty and more or less done the work on my behalf to be fair with regards to buying the chocolates, all I done was actually pay for them. Didn't pay as much as I was prepared to either so I treated myself to a cup of coffee, which was also above average. I am a romantic man. Who knows how to treat himself as well.

My favourite has to be the Viennese Truffles, oh my goodness, they are to die for! I could eat a whole bag to myself and then still want more! I also like Alpini Bars, Chocolate Smothered Toffee, Special Toffee, Strawberry Whirl, Toffee Cubes... I could go on forever! This branch of Thorntons is one of the smaller branches but they still manage to get everything in, they also have an ice-cream section in summer and a chocolate fountain all year round, where you choose from sticks of fudge, fruit or marshmallows. I also love the kids chocolate section, you can buy little chocolate lollies which are usually on offer at 5 for £2. There are little boxes with packets of sweets and chocolate in them with stickers too. It's also great for presents, I once bought a chocolate gorilla for my brother with his name written on in it with icing, pretty fitting I thought. It's also worth noting that Thorntons stock a wide range of diabetic chocolate which is great as many places don't stock this. My first ever job was in a branch of Thorntons when I was around 16, I was just a Christmas Temp for a month or so but it was seriously the best job ever! You got 25% discount off everything, plus free tasting on your break and if that wasn't enough there was also a box of broken chocolate that you could eat as much as you wanted!

If you are lucky, sometimes the chocolatiers assistants are out on the street offering samples. I have tried and tested quite few of the chocolates here, and can say my all time favourite is the Vanilla fudge. Thorntons Sauchiehall St is a great place to be, its right in the heart of the shopping district and acts as a stool to rest those tired feet and put down those heavy bags before you set off again with the power of a chocolate full tummy to lead you on.

My duties were basically stacking the shelves, breaking up boxes and eating as much chocolate as I could on my lunch break. They also had this policy that any chocolate that was broken couldn't be sold, so you had to eat it. Needless to say, I was rather clumsy whilst working here, "oops there goes another giant chocolate elephant with chocolate truffles attached to him, nobody panic, I'll just eat him, seriously it's no trouble at all, don't mention it." Oh well, waste not want not! The chocolate in Thorntons is my favourite chocolate ever from the Vienesse truffles to the Alpini bars, I'm also a huge fan of the chocolate smothered toffee. During the summer they even have an ice-cream stand which is great after a hot day of shopping but at £2.50 a scoop it's rather expensive. I thought if their cakes looked that amazing, the brunch must be amazeballs. I entered the grand looking coffee shop with walls of mirrors and a counter of cakes on a very dreicht Saturday morning. I was a bit late but fortunately when I arrived people had just ordered, I quickly picked from the menu French Toast (I knew what I wanted before I ordered to be honest) and a pot of Breakfast Tea. There was 10 fabulous Yelpers and we all picked a nice mix of various brunch meals. When the dishes hit the posh tables they looked pretty tasty. My tea was lovely and the French toast was a tasty brioche bread with a wee bowl of maple syrup to drizzle over. Now, don't get me wrong it did taste nice but I've had better and I felt like I could have had another slice, especially at the price they were charging. Now this place is not cheap. I knew that the cake was steep as I had seen the branch in Glasgow Central. Not only were my teeth thinking of falling out with the amount of sugar those mahoosive cakes have but my eyes were popping out with the prices. I really wanted to try the French toast with bacon but I just couldn't see myself paying over £7 for it. Maybe when I'm rich 'n' shiz. The staff were lovely and accommodating. I would like try their lunch menu and a slice of cake to see if they taste as good as they look. Firstly though I'll need to save up for the visit.
