Considering this place is part of the group of colleges I graduated from, giving the Davis Campus…read moreless than four stars would be heresy. While I did go through the Trafalgar Campus in Oakville, I would visit the Davis campus from time to time to cover events in my role as entertainment editor/writer for the Sheridan Sun newspaper. After many years away, I finally had the chance to revisit the campus for a conference, We Rise Together, which was organized to help young Black students in Peel. Revisiting the campus after so long away was quite surprising. It must just be me, but it seems as though the campus has greatly expanded. I don't recall seeing the "Dr. Rob Turner Building" before, nor do I remember all of the other satellite buildings around the core complex. Regardless, the campus is now a hive of activity. It's not just college students attending either - aside from the aforementioned conference, I saw a group of kids attending a spring workshop on LEGO. The conference itself was held in The Den, a bar/restaurant that's just steps away from the campus bus stop. Going in, I forgot how cavernous these spaces were. Both The Den and Connexion (at Trafalgar) have the feeling of a dark, moody place where you can hide away for hours if you so chose to. Overall, I was very impressed by the conference, which included a keynote speech from Supreme Court Justice Donald McLeod. He is an inspiring speaker, and his words are more relevant than ever, considering that Peel has a huge problem with the marginalization, latent racism and educational challenges facing young Black students in the region. It's well worth visiting this campus and seeing all that it has to offer. If not for the major programs and certificate courses, it's a beautiful campus to visit. But it's still the red-headed stepchild compared to Trafalgar and the behemoth that is the Mississauga City Centre campus.

The teachers at this school vary. Some are very good and some are terrible. I'd say the majority…read moreare on the bad side. They do however offer a variety of programs and courses which I like. They're fairly easy markers in my opinion. So if a good grade is what you're looking for then enroll in this college. They seem to always upgrade and renovate every year. I must admit the place keeps getting nicer. My favourite area will defantely have to be the computer lab since it's a great study place and open till 11pm on weekdays. Wi-fi is also provided if you're a current student. Overall I really like the school, but they need to find some professors who are better qualified. Sometimes I feel I'd be able to teach the class better than some of the teachers can.

Now I'm in this one building every single day of the week as I am currently a Guelph-Humber student. Guelph-Humber is just one building that has 4 floors which connects to Humber College. You can find the majority of the students in the Commons where there are plenty of tables and computers. The school doesn't have its own library as it shares it with Humber College. I gotta say that the library is pretty crappy and should be renovated. GH only has one food outlet, which is William's. If you want to buy other types of food you would have to walk over to the Humber campus. The classrooms barely have outlets to charge your laptop which boggles my mind. The professors range from average to pretty good. They are approachable and are willing to answer any questions that may arise. The difficulty of the tests really depend on your professor...but more importantly, how much effort you have put into studying. This school is great for students from Humber College because you can earn a diploma from Humber and then earn a degree from Guelph.

Back then we were stuck in a stand alone building (b206) which has since been demolished. All in all the school is now housed in a nice looking open concept building hitch rather pleasing to the eye and the professors were, as the previous reviewer stated are average to very good. All in all I have very good memories attending the university of Guelph Humber, in fact I meet my wife, made live long friendships and sent me on a rather successful career.

When it comes to food choices, the possiblilies are endless! The culinary program also has students prepare meals availible for purchase. I always opted for the simple couscous salad or Hawaiian pasta. For something more commercially prepared, there is always Terriyaki Experience and others to choose from. In the food court, there is a self serve area for Tim Hortons. Fulltime students have the option for free membership to the gym. It is well equipped and has its peak busy hours, so hours of availability on certain machines may vary. What's cool is that they have an on site spa where students from the program itself can perform various services under the supervision of a professional in the field. I believe an eyebrow wax clean up is approx. $7.00. Linx bar is located at the back behind the JF wing. There are pool tables as well.

Yesterday was a perfect storm... Metro passes are made available at a discount price through the bookstore the 27th of every month. This month the 27th was a Saturday so Monday afternoon, everyone and their mother went to the bookstore to get their pass! I hate lineups just as much as the next guy, but what I really hate is inefficient lineups! There are three checkout points in this place and yet only one area is designated to sell metro passes. To make matters worse they not only have to check your student ID to verify that you are student (understandable), they also have to check your name off a list. Sounds harmless right? The list is paper... there is a 700 page booklet sorted by ID number that needs to be checked off before you get your metro pass. Seriously how hard would it be to put these things in excel of all things to expedite the process (higher learning indeed). The result is a lineup that coiled the entire length of the bookstore twice and took almost one hour to get through! Icing on the cake... I almost got kicked out for drinking my Perrier (that I bought earlier) in the lineup. Apparently drinks are a big no-no. I told the woman to bite me, I finished the bottle and refused to leave the lineup (I had waited 35 minutes at this point and was ready to put up a fight). I think next time I will splurge the $12 I would have saved and just get my pass though the station.
