I have been super impressed with Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic since we moved and starting bringing our dogs here. They've been great with routine check-ups and updating vaccines. Most recently, our 9 yr old chihuahua mix was sick. She stopped eating and was clearly not feeling well. I called on a Thursday morning to see if Speck could be seen. The receptionist told me that she didn't have a single opening until Monday morning. I took the appointment, but received a call back within thirty minutes to let me know that she had talked with the vet and they'd be happy to see her if I could just drop her off anytime. I was so incredibly relieved. During covid times, you are not allowed in the office. When I arrived I called to let them know which parking space I was in and someone came out to get my sick pupper. They were great about calling me to check in with me before they ran blood work. During the call she went over some additional unrelated things that she had noticed. It was reassuring to know that Dr. Black was paying such close attention. She never pressured me to address them, just wanted to talk them through. Long story short(er): Things looked good. Speck got some tummy meds and they sent her home with bland soft food for a few days. She's back to her crazy, little self. I feel so relieved knowing that I can take our dogs somewhere that they pay attention and clearly care about our animals. Bonus: Speck came home with her nails trimmed. I never asked them to do it and they never even charged me for it. read more

I tried this vet out with my puppy. I have usually always taken my pups to Banfield but I decided to try this place based on recommendations on Facebook. The first couple of visits went well and I liked that they gave my pup treats when they were giving him his vaccines. However the last 3 visits I was done with this place. First of the last 3 I waited for an hour and a half before being placed in a room, the second of the last 3 I waited for over 2 hours for a room. The last of the 3 I waited for over 3 hours to be placed in a room. I was 100% fed up. If people have appointments don't over schedule. It really made me angry that I had to wait so long and there was no acknowledgement that I been there patiently waiting for so long, which must mean it happens all the time. I never got an apology or even a question to why I hadn't returned but time is valuable and I will not waste my life away sitting waiting. At Banfield I'm in a room usually within the minute I arrive, which means they don't over schedule. There were other people waiting with me @ Cedar Bluff that looked just as fed up. I understand that they might be a decent vet clinic but with my experiences I get better service and one-on-one time with my pups at Banfield and pay a lot less. So if you find yourself in a similar situation go check out Banfield bc this place was overrated to me. Cheers & Enjoy! read more

Wouldn't recommend. My wife took one of our cats here because there was a bloody wound in front of his ear. They misdiagnosed him and told us it was fine to take his cone off that we put on him to stop him from making it worse. Well it certainly got worse after we took the cone off and he scratched it to oblivion. Looking closely you can tell there is an unusual lump or cyst there and that's the reason he's scratching. Not only did they charge us but made the problem worse, and will probably try to charge us again to find out how they messed up. read more

My family have used this clinic since 1983. My mom's cat had been diagnosed with arthritis and stage 3 kidney failure. This cat had been a patient for over a decade. She was on medication for both, but we knew her end was getting close and discussed euthanasia. A few days ago, the cat suddenly took a turn for the worse, and we knew it was time. My mom called in and told them that she was much worse and she was bringing the cat in. THEY REFUSED TO SEE HER, saying that they were taking appointments only. They gave her a name for an emergency vet hospital and they were going to call ahead and tell them my mother's financial situation. What??? This was during normal business hours. She ended up going to another vet across town, who euthanized her. This poor cat had to suffer needlessly for over an hour. Cedar Bluff said only one vet was there. You don't NEED a vet to euthanize - vet techs can do it, and she had already spoken with her vet about doing so. We were FURIOUS. Called them back the next day to express our disappointment with what had happened. They were not remorseful at all. But, it gets even better.... Mom gets a message on her answering machine after all of this happened. It's from them, saying that mom should double the medications. Wtf??? The cat is DEAD! Has been for a couple of days!Do we dig her up and give them to her? I don't think doubling the meds will help, for some odd reason. Call it a hunch. We will NEVER use that clinic ever again. If they can treat a loyal customer since 1983, and an established patient for over a decade, who is suffering like this, and do that? No, when that happens at a vet clinic, they are no longer there for the animals. read more

I have gone to Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic (CBAC) for over 25 years. When I adopted my first puppy from Adopt-a-Pet on Bearden Hill, we took her to CBAC, and never stopped taking our dogs there. Dr. Black has been our vet for all of our seven dogs. She even came to our home twice to put two of our dogs down. The clinic has gone through many changes over the years. Vets have come and gone; the clinic has been sold and redecorated. But the staff has always been caring, helpful (except for a few people who have left), and gone out of their way to help us and our pets. The Covid situation was not easy to handle, but it was handled as well as could be expected. It protected the staff, the clients, and the pets. It was awkward at times, but I'm sure it saved lives. For that, I am grateful. I would like to call out a few staff members who are especially wonderful to my family. They are : Christi, Kim, Becky, and, of course, Dr. Jennifer Black. There may be others that I can't remember right now so please forgive me. There's the girl who found the small tumor in Lucy's butt! You are such a lifesaver! Thank you! CBAC is a great vet clinic. I was a little reserved to use Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic, but decided to try it solely because of it's location. I couldn't be happier with Chloe's new vet! The staff was very friendly, professional, and Dr. Wolf took the time to answer my questions, and give Chloe the thorough examination she deserves. Dr. Wolf gave me options to help Chloe with her sensitive puppy digestive system, and didn't slam me with a bunch of unnecessary fees and tests. Our experience at Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic really helped relieve some of the stress and anxiety behind getting a new puppy, and Chloe loves going to see them. The staff is horrible and rude. My 11 year old cat alice had to be put down for severe liver damage on Christmas day 2020. We went to the emergency animal hospital and we found out her liver was failing and that she wasn't going to survive. We have used cedar bluff animal clinic for over 10 years. We noticed symptoms in her on December 20, 2020 and called to make an appointment. The soonest they had was December 28. She wasn't going to make it until then. We left a voicemail when her symptoms got worse and they never responded. We kept the appointment because our other cat, Alfred, was depressed that his sister was gone. When we got there, they asked us about Alice and we told them. We were still mourning. The vet technician (I didn't get her name) said that in 2016 her liver levels were elevated and they suggested an x ray but we never did anything. She blamed us for our cats death after just 3 days since it happened. Here's what really happened in 2016: we took her to the vet to get shots and check up. They told us her liver levels were high and gave us antibiotics. They did mention the x ray as an option if she didn't respond to the antibiotics. The vet, Dr. Black, legitimately said that if she responds to the antibiotics, we don't need to spend the hundreds of dollars for an x ray. Within a few days of the antibiotics, she was back to normal. We got her the 3 year vaccine so we didn't think we needed to go back, and wellness checks are usually out of our budget so we play it by ear. They did not suggest a follow up. They did not say this is something that should be monitored. They said if she responded to the antibiotics (she did) then she was fine. Being blamed for our cats death, insinuating that we just never did anything to treat her liver when we did, is just so disrespectful. When we told them her symptoms initially, they did not suggest to go to an emergency animal hospital. They just made the appointment for 8 days after we noticed Alice acting unusual. When we were at the vet, we told them that we left a message with our update on her health and they said "oh yeah we haven't listened to all the messages we got over the long weekend yet." They were sympathetic, but it was clear they did not prioritize alice's care at all. We couldn't get an early appointment even though she was not doing well. When she took a horrifying then for the worse, they didn't even respond to us. We are going to be taking Alfred to a different vet. He deserves a vet clinic that will prioritize him, especially when the vets are costly and we are on a budget anyway. Why are we paying hundreds of dollars each visit if they are going to treat us like crap when we are mourning our precious baby Alice? After Dr. Tait left, this clinic went down hill fast, and the technicians and staff are just so unprofessional and rude. read more

We just got a new dog and haven't lived in this area for long, so when my husbands coworker suggested CBAC, we thought we'd give it a try. I'm so happy we did! Clean, nice atmosphere and the vets and assistants really care! At the time we got our dog, CBAC was running an AMAZING microchip special and so we had to stop in for that. It was easy and took less than 15 minutes. We also were worried that our new dog might have colitis, and the vet gave us wonderful diet recommendations, meds to help his digestive system and answered questions my husband (first time dog owner) had. I have never had a dog (in my years as a dog owner) enjoy trips to the vet so much! read more

We couldn't be more pleased with Cedar Bluff. We moved to Knoxville a little over a year ago with an old dog and young(ish) cat. There isn't much to say about the regular checkups and vaccine visits, they all went well as they should. Importantly, when a very large mass was found in our senior dog recently, Dr. Wolf was extremely thorough during the diagnosis steps, provided trustworthy and expert advice, and demonstrated so much care for our dog before and after the surgery. I've been a client for over 6 years.I've been generally ok w the practice not great but ok and its close to my house. However, that all changed today. My dog is sick so I needed to see a vet. I was told they would work me in. After 3 HOURS, my dog had still not been "worked in". More impotantly, a very sick older dog arrived at the same time we did and had to be carried in from the car. After 2+hours, her owner was sitting in the waiting area CRYING and trying to sooth her pet. She wasnt helped in anyway and was left there to cry! It was outrageous. She sat there for over two hours contemplating having to put her dog down! I will NEVER go to this vet again. read more

I was visiting from out of town and needed a refill on my dogs meds. The staff and space were great! They were busy but everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was a bit of a wait as a walkin but they were very attentive with my 13 year old Pomeranian. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more
