My background is in Vet Med - I've been a licensed Vet Tech for 30+ years, working in specialty medicine and academia. So I know the questions to ask, and I did A LOT of research before landing on VVet. I had just moved to the area and knew no one!! They came recommended to me when I started researching and asking other colleagues, "Who do you know in the Knoxville area that is at a great general practice?" This clinic came up a few times, and a few names were dropped. So I read up on the doctors' names given and chose Dr. Dugan. I've had all three of my pets seen there. The first was my soul dog, Ember, who had CKD (chronic kidney disease). She was the reason I needed to find a practice ASAP when I arrived here. She required monthly evaluations and more frequent ones at the end. Dr. Dugan was patient with me, the high detail very stressed Moma. She and her team did almost everything in the room with me. She was gentle with my kids, got down on the ground to ease their anxiety, and gave me time for all my many questions. Her assistants were also gentle and nice. When the worst day of my life came, I wanted to spend the day with my girl and schedule the euthanasia at the end of the day. I was told she unfortunately wouldn't be available at that time, but another doctor could fit me in that evening. I, of course, had to accept that fact because I wanted that time with her that day, but knew it couldn't wait over the weekend. But when I arrived, she and her assistant had made themselves available. Knowing my girl wouldn't have to see an unfamiliar face meant the world to me. They were both kind and compassionate and were willing to accommodate my requests of not coming into the clinic to perform the euthanasia, so we could stay outside in a familiar setting my dog loved (in the car). It was raining, and they still did it!! This is a 5-star service! Since then, my boys (cat and dog) have both needed some care, and each time the service has been great! I had to use Dr. Morrison for one urgent visit, and she, too, was patient and caring with my pup. I'm glad they were recommended to me for general care.

The reason they switched wasn't out of love for your animals or to make medications more easily accessible, quite the oppositein fact, they did it to make more money while at the same time inconveniencing you. Additionally, I think they may have been breaking the law thru unethical sales and marketing tactics. Hardin Valley was basically intercepting orders you place with Chewy, and trying to force you into purchasing them from their new online store. This is not good.

My Mommy found AWRC when I started limping. My regular vet said I needed surgery but Mommy wanted to find out if we could try rehab instead. I'm so glad she did! Not only did they make my legs feel better, they made my legs big and strong! I can run faster than my sister now! The best part of all... they helped me with my fears. Everybody there is so nice and caring. They all know my name. They all pet me. (Even after I said bad words to them the first time we met). They know that I like to sit in my special seat in the waiting room. And they make sure Taylor is scheduled because she is my favorite! And I can call them anytime and they will get me in as fast as possible! They truly are the best vet in the Knoxville Area. Probably the best vet in the world! At Banfield I'm in a room usually within the minute I arrive, which means they don't over schedule. There were other people waiting with me @ Cedar Bluff that looked just as fed up. I understand that they might be a decent vet clinic but with my experiences I get better service and one-on-one time with my pups at Banfield and pay a lot less. There was some recent miscommunication with a payment for a procedure and the staff was very quick to reach out to me and work things out when they honestly could have just told me "tough luck"! I really appreciated that. I adopted my cat when I first moved here and didn't know anyone, he means the world to me.
