I went through a very through analysis, weighing pros and cons of my top 6 picks, and TLE somerset came out on top. In terms of education, no idea how much a little person with the attention span of a goldfish can really learn, but he is constantly surprising me with words and hand signals that I know I never had the patience to teach. He's on to colors and counting now. He also roars when he sees dinosaurs. A few weeks ago, the center called to let us know about a mysterious bump on his head, and that they're concerned and will keep an eye on it. It turned out to be just a small mosquito bite he got from the night before (that I already knew about), but it showed that they do pay attention to the little things. Both parents and kiddo are happy with the experience here so far! Now if they could do something about the traffic on Easton Ave... that would be great =)

They are happy, thriving, learning, and enjoying every moment of their time here. Whenever we have had a concern or an issue to address, we have always felt heard and supported. The school has been incredibly responsive, and action has been taken immediately whenever needed. Our children have also participated in the Spanish Immersion program, and we have been amazed by how well they are learning and speaking the language. We are especially impressed by how much they have learned at such a young age--even being able to write their names and many different words in Spanish. The teachers are absolutely wonderful: caring, kind, professional, and incredibly attentive to the children's individual needs, behaviors, and development. Their dedication and genuine love for what they do are evident every day. I would also like to highlight the school's leadership. The administration is always willing to listen, support us, and help with anything we may need. We truly feel that our children are in a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment. Honestly, everything about the Guidepost Montessori Somerset has been extraordinary. Our one-year-old daughter just started this month, and the staff have been incredibly sweet and attentive with her. From day one, I received plenty of photos and updates showing exactly what she was doing throughout the day. That level of communication made me feel so much more at ease, especially as a parent leaving a little one in someone else's care for the first time. In just a short time, she's already learning to spoon-feed herself and is showing so much more independence while exploring and walking around with confidence. Our four-year-old son has been attending for a couple of months now. He had been struggling with some behavioral challenges at his previous daycare, but since switching to Guidepost, we haven't had a single issue. The difference is night and day. The teachers here are clearly well-trained and experienced. They have a calm, confident presence and complete control of the classroom (which is no easy feat with a group of four-year-olds!). They keep the children engaged while also teaching valuable social skills, like how to play cooperatively, share, and respect personal space. In addition, our son has multiple food allergies and sensitivities, and the team at Guidepost has been exceptionally supportive and accommodating. They've gone out of their way to not only make sure his dietary needs are met, but to support me as a parent during what has been a tough transition to a new diet. My husband and I toured MANY daycares in the area and decided to enroll in the Easton Ave KinderCare after meeting Ms. Amanda and visiting her classroom. As a first time mom, she made going back to work much easier for me and I love being able to check the app throughout my work day to see pictures, videos, food, diaper and nap updates. I've also been amazed at how much my son has learned at such a young age. Recently my son has transitioned to the toddler classroom with Ms. Sue (and Ms. Marcie in the afternoons) and he is absolutely thriving! There is structure and planned activities for the kids each day. Ms. Sue sends the most wonderful daily updates, pictures and videos. It started when she came home with diaper rashes so bad I could not touch her to clean her or put her in her bath water on separate occasions. They were told several times she was super sensitive down there and it only takes a second to look. Then it was the call to the Division of Child and Family Services because she had a stain on her shirt and a leaf or two in her hair. Because I missed the memo that playing outside with your child in the morning instead of shoving a screen in their face was wrong. Then it was the push to get her evaluated for every little problem. She is an only child, so she was a little late to talking but once she started, she has not stopped LOL. But there was no need for a speech evaluation and I told them that but I did it anyway because I want to do whatever will help my child grow and thrive. They nearly laughed at the end of the evaluation because it was pretty much a waste of their time, but whatever. Then it was them saying they will help with potty training and telling me every day she wasn't asking or going potty at all. And that her behavior was "out of control" and not listening to them even though on two separate occasions she came home with bite marks from another student. My daughter can be a handful, there is no denying that. Then it was them "removing" her after giving me three weeks to change a 3 year old behavior. She is not somewhere else and OH MY GOD she is miraculously using the potty, listening to the teachers, playing with the other children. It was not my child that needs to be evaluated in this situation, maybe it's their teachers or methods.

The owner is passionate about child development and the curriculum fosters a happy day of learning while maintaining a habitual routine that helps all students. The facility is state of the art and very clean, I don't want to jinx myself but my son has never been sick in the twelve months he has attended. The teachers and administrative staff are on the ball with keeping the center safe and clean.
