Recently moved from south austin my sons pediatrician is Dr. Goodman I can not say enough goods things about him he is amazing!!!! Now that I live in round rock tried finding a pediatrician north so I found Dr. Joseph he was very rude along with his staff but I figured they were having an off day so I didn't say anything. I called 4 times to speak with him and the clinic kept sending me to voice mail. When I finally got to speak to a medical assistant I asked to speak to the Dr. because what he prescribed was not working for my son and he refused to speak to me what kind of pediatrician can't spend a minute of his time to speak to a parent regarding their child's well being. I am in shock never going back there and I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My son just got out of the hospital and We went to see Dr. Joe for a follow for this. He explained more to me in 10 min then Dell's Children Hospital did in the 24 hrs being their. I love this office! They are so welcoming and loving of my babies. Dr. Joe is amazing with kids and very transparent. He is always giving me samples for my 2 month old which I enjoy lol. He is very attentive and always want to ensure all my questions are answered and concerns addressed. read more

I love Dr. Joe and Dr. Rose. They are more like a hometown Doctor's office. They were super friendly with my kids, very easy to understand, listening to everything I asked and responded in appropriate lay terms for my child AND me to understand. They got me in same day, twice in the same week, followed up by phone and text and generally are just superb. I wish I had found them much sooner!! read more

Dr. Joe is by far the best pediatrician I've ever worked with. My daughter has autism and he really utilised his resources in making sure she saw all of the specialists she needed to get the healing process started. He genuinely cares about my kids and I couldn't ask for more! read more

When I tell the kids they have to go to the doctor their response is "OK!" That says a LOT coming from any of my 3 kids. They are 16, 6 and 4. Dr. Joe speaks on their level and explains things in a way everyone can understand. He's more laid back and casual and that works for my family. Always professional, just so no one confuses that, but down to earth and approachable. I trust his diagnosis and he's been spot on with treating my two oldest for Asthma. He is good! They have also seen Dr. Rose and she is great, too. We've been coming here since we moved to Texas 6 years ago and I can't say enough good things. read more

Time for a new pediatrician. Yesterday when Dr. Joe tried to recommend flu shots for my two Type 1 diabetic children and I declined (preferring to have our endo make those types of decisions in my boys care), her responded in front of my 11 year old "Fine, it's your choice but you are killing them", and turned his back on me and walked out. My child was very upset. There is no way I am taking my child back to this office. read more

When we first moved to Austin it was trial and error looking for pediatricians. Dr Joe came highly recommended by my massage therapist. From our first visit we felt at ease and trusted Dr Joe. He is just as great with our 3 1/2 year old son as he is with our 9 month old daughter. He truly loves children and takes his time making sure mom and dad have all their questions answered. The office staff was very unprofessional. We saw Dr. Rose and she wasn't a good fit for our family. Personality wise she didn't connect with my child which can make all the difference in how a child reacts to a visit to the doctor. They wanted me to pay $35 to access their online portal. Couldn't they find another way to cover their costs to upgrade their technology to the 21st century without tacking on a fee? We had to wait a crazy amount of time while my child was sick and we watched numerous other patients come in and taken back while we waited. We've since moved on to another pediatrician. read more

Dr. Joe and Dr. Rose beautifully cared for my twin micro-preemies. These fragile babies were in such wonderful, caring hands. I feel so lucky to have found Cedar Park Pediatrics. We went through years seeing many specialists for my tiny twins, and Dr.Joe helped us manage everything and always made sure we were in the right hands. He wouldn't hesitate to pick up the phone and talk with the specialists to explain what he was seeing.. Amazing first experience! Came across this gem after a switch in insurance.. When we got checked in, my daughter had a fever and the nurse offered Motrin, which I thought was very sweet. My daughter has had several ear infections in the past few months and our previous Dr never seemed to help solve the issue just give us antibiotics and send us on our way. After a few minutes with the Dr he was able to diagnose the issue. For the first time in months we finally have a treatment plan that will solve the issue not just "put a band aid on it". I highly recommend this office. read more

After 7 years of seeing Dr.Joe he decides to terminate us as his patients for the reason being that I was on medicaide while I was pregnant which automatically puts your newborn on medicaide. Even though we have always cash paid he thinks "states Jessica his office gal, that it is too much work to claim from medicaide." We did not get any warning that we would be terminated just a certified letter. My other 3 kids are not on medicaide and he still terminated them. After knowing and treating our children for 7 years you would think there would be some common courtesy but guess not, still about the bottem dollar....which he set the price we paid. Just really disappointed for the lack of professional communication. I remember when Joe stated that all kids no matter what type of insurance or not desreve to be seen and treated and he would be the doctor to do that....I wonder what happened to that caring doctor of ours. read more

Both of my children see Dr. Rose as their primary doctor. My son has social issues and has a hard time warming up to women. He loves her. We see Dr. Joe if we need a same day appointment and Dr. Rose is unavailable (which is rare). Both of my kids love him too. They are very informative and want to ensure that the parent has a full understanding of the child's condition and/or health status. I have never had issues making or changing appointments. I have had a long wait time once in the 3 years my children have been at this clinic. Both Dr. Rose and Dr. Joe know my children by name without having to see it on a chart. I would recommended this clinic hands down. read more

If you take your child to Cedar Park Pediatrics for a well visit make sure to ask if it is covered under the well baby visit if a doctor observes anything about your child and discusses it with you. We have been billed twice after well baby visits. Once for discussing a small birthmark which we did not ask about. The doctor pointed to it, told us what it was called and advised it would eventually fall off. (We already knew this. A nurse in the hospital where my baby was born had told us the same thing when my baby was 2 days old.) At another well baby visit the doctor noticed a mild excema rash which was improving rapidly because we were treating it ourselves with cortisone cream. He told us about excema (nothing more than we had learned ourselves by researching it,) and prescribed cortisone cream that was stronger than over the counter, he said. The last straw: After the practice moved to Parmer, we were 20 minutes late for a well baby visit. I had not been to the new location before and passed it up and had to turn around (during rush hour traffic on Parmer.) The guy at the front desk told me the doctor could not see my child because we were late. I left with my child and advised we would not be back. The guy at the desk said, "Have a nice day!" while we were going out the door. In my opinion that was very sarcastic and unprofessional. We have a new pediatrician now. I would rate Cedar Park Pediatrics zero stars if I could. read more

Dr. Joe has been taking care of our son since he was 1 year old. He is almost 6 now and Dr. Joe is one of the main reasons why we have a healthy, happy boy! We've literally seen him from bouts of ear infections, pinworms, strange skin conditions, allergies, pneumonia and asthma..you name it and he has managed it all very well. He is very honest, takes on an evidence-based approach with his care, and simplifies things for parents to understand (which I thought was great especially as a first time parent!) I am in the healthcare field myself, and there is no such thing as a stupid question for him. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients and families. We love Dr. Joe, he is a gem and we are beyond blessed to have him care for our baby (and future babies when the time comes :) Btw, his staff (Steve, Jessica, and all his MA's) are just as friendly and caring! Highly recommend this place to all the mamas/dads out there looking for good pediatric care. read more

My daughter was a patient of Dr. Cardwell's when he was at ARC, and we followed him to this practice. At first the service and care was extraordinary, but Now I have 2 children getting care there, and in my opinion, they have grown too big. It is hard to get in the same day when they are ill, and you get a machine unless you are calling the appointment line. Referrals are a slow process. Love Dr. Cardwell and Dr. Matthew, but the service has really gone downhill. read more

I have never taken the time to "blog" about anyone or any business but really felt this one was worth mine and your time. Dr. Joe Cohen is not a pediatrician I would EVER recommend. Our children are age 9 and 13 and only need a doctor visit once or twice a year for sickness and check ups. So, we have probably seen him 5 or 6 times over a course of a couple of years. Every time we (my husband or myself) left the appointment, we disturbed by the visit, but always tried dismissing our irritations and/or concerns for him as a bad appointment, or basically, just giving him the benefit of the doubt that everyone deserves. After this last appointment, we went home, changed our PCP with our insurance and ended our relationship with Cedar Park Pediatrics. In a nutshell, he is quite full of himself, unprofessional, has NO bed side manners, is suspiciously hyperactive at times, and awkwardly asks inappropriate to my kids. He has personally insulted me and my husband on several occasions, and disregarded our opinions and/or questions as parents. My children are not sensitive or bothered by many, but after hearing my 9 year old daughter ask me to please not make her go back to "that" doctor, I finally realized that is wasn't just my opinion. I actually wish we didn't have to go to Cedar Park Pediatrics as much as we have but kids are kids and mine just happen to get sick a lot. Or maybe I'm just overprotective...anyway, this office makes it a lot easier for me. For starters the entire staff is so friendly and have been nothing but kind to us. I've always been able to get a same day appointment. The longest I've ever had to wait was probably 10 min and that was in their old office. In the new office I don't even get a chance to sit down usually. This also transcends to the exam room. We are never waiting more than 5 minutes. What's not to love about that? Now onto Dr. Joe. He is very caring and has a sense of humor that lightens the mood. With that being said he is extremely knowledgeable and makes sure you don't leave without having all of your questions answered. I've always felt very comfortable with him treating my kids and I trust his diagnosis. These are all normal people that just want to take care of your kids. It doesn't get much better than that. read more
