Had service from them for over a year with hundreds of dollars spent. The technician damaged our home trying to seal with foam (which I have read is quite suboptimal as mice can eat through it). The owner seemed nice and gave us some money back for this. I still had to clean up the mess myself and still can't get rid of certain areas without gutting the area. Regardless, our flooring was damaged and stained from the foam. Nothing was really addressed regarding sealing the home such as looking behind all appliances and kitchen items. It just did not feel complete. I did more research on why mice come into the home and I found (quite large) cracks myself behind the dishwasher, fridge, and cabinets that they did not investigate at all. We still have mice. Quite disappointed that they did not have the ability to find why mice were there and address the issue rather than just poisoning them. I would not recommend them for this reason. read more

We signed up for a quarterly pest control service and switched from a different company to Eco Pest for mosquito service. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed in EcoPest, for personnel reasons. I moved into an apartment unit with big American roaches and I don't know what my apartment management said to Kevin about me, but he was rude: irritated at my questions about where they may be coming from and making snide comments. I'm from the north and am not used to big bugs. Some empathy would've been nice. He treated me like I was fishing for certain answers. He also did not seem at all interested in identifying the pests. I had saved one of the roaches I'd killed for identification reasons (in a container within a plastic bag, so lots of layers), but he was reluctant to look at it. Later, when I had mice, I told him I'd kept it in a trash can if he wanted to identify it and he said he no thanks, I already know what mice look like. I understand - but it's a pity because it turned out later to be a rat. What kind of pest control doesn't care to identify the pests? I don't want to be hanging on to these things otherwise. My new apartment has no pest issues, but if they ever arise again, I will be avoiding EcoPest for their attitude. read more

My contract with this company was for 12 months, service done quarterly. Each time the technicians will schedule ahead of time to confirm the appointment. Technicians are very pleasant but they ask me each time what areas I would like treated. I am not a pest control expert, so not sure why they would ask me. On two occasions I was out of town for work and I get a text and email that my service had been completed, which it would have been impossible to do the interior since I was not home to let them in. On one occasion, they claim that the complete exterior was done, but my backyard security cameras showed no activity by humans and I'm pretty sure I did not see any of the rabbits in my backyard carrying any pest control products in the video. I reached out to the company and they would send someone back out to do the interior, so they try to make it right but just a hassle in my opinion. The product they use on the interior has a strong smell that last for a couple weeks. The exterior product didn't seem to work any better than what I would buy at the hardware store. I had a lot of ants around my garage and front door late last summer and had to get some spray at the hardware store to get rid of them. I mentioned it to the technician on the next visit and he stated it takes 7-10 days for the product they use to work. So out of curiosity I checked when I purchased the product I got at the hardware store to when they sprayed their product at my home, which turned out to be 23 days. So not sure if the product they use only works for a week or so but it seems that it should have lasted longer. I requested to cancel but they will tell you that their contract is for 5 services, not 4. Their claim is the first service, which honestly was no different than any of the other quarterly services is not counted in the 12 month quarterly contract. They will offer you a discount to make it up to but you will be renewing your contract. My opinion, you can purchase products at the hardware store and get the same results for a lot cheaper and definitely a lot less hassle. read more

I'm using Eco Pest Control in Glenn Allen area for the last 4 months as we had signed up for a year long pest control contract. At the time we signed, I was told that pest control including mice entry etc will be taken care off based on the contract and my discussion with the owner. The owner/Kevin explained me how the crawl space had some entry points that they will take care of for pest entry when times come. As the winter set in, I called them up again and explained I'm seeing lady bugs etc., and also a mice or squirrel pest issue. The person who came had a nonchalant attitude and wanted to do the most limiting work with least amount of effort. He tried to convenience me that they don't have the know how to take care of pest entry blocking with foam/screens etc. this was dishonest as I just went back and looked at the services provided and comments from other customers on the work done. I don't like to put bad reviews but as this included dishonest representation of what they can/will do once we are in a contract, I cannot recommend them. The intent is to ask Eco Pest control to review and work with there team and train them to ensure works gets done to what is needed to be done. Do try to shrug off the responsibility by telling customers they need to get someone else. read more
