You'll die of old age waiting for anyone to help you. Sure, they can put you in a room, there's plenty of empty tiny little rooms they can leave you in for all day and night while they ignore you and ignore your winces of pain. This the last time I go to any ER in Cedar Rapids, Iowa unless I'm unconscious or dead. At both hospitals they are very snotty and disrespectful. I don't know what happened to this place but I won't be caught alive in there ever again.

was told about a year back by my primary provider that she was refusing to refer me out to a GI…read morespecialist due to the fact that they were understaffed and it would "take a while", and because my issues didn't seem severe enough. that was after a 5 minute conversation (in which i described pain so severe that it is causing me to be unable to work or do much of anything!). she ended our appointment early and did nothing for me despite the fact that i was and am struggling with severe pain, discomfort, and fatigue. when i did finally get to a GI specialist at mercy, no thanks to her, i found out i have severe, chronic, and completely disabling GI issues...they proceeded to do nothing about it. this place has set back my treatment for months. don't go here if you can help it. mercy is honestly infamous for this kind of mistreatment and i knew what i was getting into - ive been dealing with medical issues my whole life and i know how to advocate for myself, and yet i still would have been better off pretty much anywhere where they actually care.

Visited yesterday after having been sick for…read more13 days and, after having blood work done, Dr. Allen then advised I go directly to the St. Lukes Emergency Room for further testing. 5 hours later I was released with diagnosis 'general abdominal pain' which ignores the sinus infection, near-constant fevers and illness I've experienced for almost 2 weeks. Called Dr. Allen this morning to advise 24 hours had passed and no one had even prescribed an antibiotic at his office or the ER, which was unusual since he seemed certain enough of infection to send me to the ER, and am still waiting for a callback hours later. If you need actual medical care, go somewhere else. If you want to be infuriated by incompetence, the runaround and a final diagnosis of 'follow up with your regular doctor', then throw you $$$$ away on these clowns. NEVER AGAIN will I be this stupid!!!
