If you are traveling to Canada which we were from Spokane, you have options of roads to head north. One route take you into Idaho, and straight shot north, through Sandpoint, Where is lovely attraction lives. Let's be honest, this is just one small part of a downtown that has wonderful shops and cafes. It is however unique that you are on a bridge like structure that hosts a bunch of local shops. Yes, it's tight inside, and yes, it does feel like a tourist trap, but if look past that, There are some very lovely places to spend your money inside. Worth a visit, yes. Quaint little spot with mini booths/vendor tables along one side, and small stores along the other, inside the bridge over the roadway. Mostly it's artsy type things with some other various wares and decor items. Typical prices for vendors like this. Very quiet inside with very few people. Much of the second floor is vacant. Pretty views out the windows, but watch out for pigeon poop at the end if you go outside (major roost spot). read more

This little market and shops on the bridge is cute, and it is sad how often businesses turn over in here. If you're in Sandpoint, check it out and support the retailers and vendors inside! Went today and it was the busiest I've seen it. Everything was all decked out for Xmas, the little cafes/food stands were busy, and the kids play space in the back (which we love!) was packed. They also have (very clean) bathrooms and more business upstairs. read more

I love the Cedar Street Bridge!! It has an amazing view of the mountains and the water. It has fun little shops inside to browse in. Also, a cafe and restaurant, and a new wine bar. Nice wood inside. Very beautiful! Definitely recommend checking it out if you are in town!! read more

We've tried this place twice now with the new owners and things just don't seem as high of quality as it was before. First time took a very long time. Second time we got the grilled chicken sandwich, they left off the cheese and it most definitely needed it. Asked about the quinoa salad and was told ranch was on it and it was not. The staff didn't seem knowledgeable about their products. The sides aren't good, just stick to the bag of chips. I think they need more time to get their quality back up. read more

I am so happy to see this wonderful place full of life again!! I have been there several times in the last month which is more then I have been there in the past several years! It used to be kinda sad and empty and now it is full of cute little stores and fun things for kids to do and some yummy things to eat! The view is to die for. A cute and quaint mall that was converted from a covered bridge. There are two stories, although not all of the storefronts are full and it has a bit of a forlorn, half-empty feel to it. The wooden construction and large picture windows are worth checking out as you stroll through. The stores are kind of quirky and local -- no chain stores, as far as I know. There's a furniture and home decor store, an olde-tyme candy and sand art store, a few gift boutiques with Idaho souvenirs, a coffee and ice cream stand, that sort of thing. I thought this was going to be the main attraction of our visit to Sand Point, but actually found more interesting stores in the rest of the downtown walking area. Still, it's a nice enough place to get out of the heat and take a break while grabbing a drink or snack. read more

It seems I have to stop by the Cedar Street Bridge Public Market every time I visit Sandpoint, Idaho. Over the decades it changes to some degree. Yet, there are always shops that have treats and souvenirs for kids, grandkids and others (including ourselves). Fortunately I have usually come through Sandpoint during slower seasons, so parking within a couple blocks is not an issue (and I forget to ask if off-street parking might be available). After checking out other nearby locations downtown we head back to the car with our bags of goodies. By the way, seems the upstairs (elevator too) at Cedar Street Bridge has fewer shops (more professional services and empty spaces at times), yet we like heading up anyway for the added walk and another view or perspective over the balcony and outside the huge windows. read more

My wife and I eat lunch at the Cedar St. Bistro while site seeing in Sandpoint. We both had sandwiches, which came with coleslaw, topped with tropical mango vinaigrette, which was very good. The enclosed bridge is said to be one of a kind. As you eat you can watch the flowing water below you and look at the beautiful mountains in the near distance. The owners and staff are super nice. If you are ever in Sandpoint Idaho, with so much to see and do, be sure to put the Cedar Street Bridge Public Market on the top of your list of things to see. Then enjoy some wonderful food and beverage from the Cedar St. Bistro, you'll be glad you did! read more

Cedar Street Bistro is one of my favorite lunch spots in Sandpoint. The food is always delicious. Also sitting by the window looking out on Sandcreek, and visiting with the warm, hospitable staff exhibits some Sandpoint's beautiful qualities. After eating, I often go for a walk along the public Sandcreek trail behind the Cedar street bridge. Go, relax, enjoy. read more
