The owners are a lovely African American couple and their decor is exquisite (they have an amazing coffee table in the living room area). When we mentioned we were sort of celebrating my wife's birthday, they upgraded us to a larger room. We enjoyed the grounds and even walked to downtown Durham for dinner. The neighborhood was mostly quiet, excepting a few sirens that you hear in any city and the sleep quality was good. We helped ourselves to some herbal tea and sat out on their porch at night. Breakfast next morning was delicious and we had a nice conversation with the husband. All in all, a lovely experience.

All the rooms are beautiful, well appointed, quiet and spotless. Monica and Daniel, the hosts, are wonderful assuring guests are comfortable and answering any and all questions about the area. Delicious seems lacking as a word when describing Monica's breakfasts. They are always wonderful with an eye towards healthy eating. Very highly recommended.

The room was spacious and very clean, beautiful windows on two sides, central air conditioning and nice full bath. The historic house is a gem to explore with an interesting collection of artwork. Our host was super helpful in advising us on local activities and worthwhile restaurants. He is very knowledgeable about the Inn's and the local history. The cook prepared a 5 star spread for us for breakfast featuring his favourite "teddy bear" fruit sculpture. What a treat!! Enjoyed the back porch with view of garden which supports a number of species of migrating and local species of birds. An orchestra awaited us every morning! Such an enjoyable stay- hope to be back sometime.

The suite upstairs is really spacious, with a bed room, a sitting room, and a huge bathroom. The jacuzzi in the bathroom was really relaxing after a long day of driving. Frank gave us directions to dinner and has a handy file by the door filled with directions to all kinds of nearby points of interest. We ended up walking ~.5 mile to downtown and did a little bar hopping. The room had a TV and they just got satellite, but we don't really watch TV so we didn't turn it on. If you read the other reviews for this B & B, they are pretty accurate. What some people find…read moreannoying, we find interesting, and the reason we go to a B & B is because it's interesting. The place is stuffed with antiques, the owners are quirky yet very kind, and the neighborhood isn't as dicey as some people say. We didn't have any grievous music from nearby or shady characters lurking about during our four night stay. The pricing was quite reasonable for the area and we were very satisfied with our experience.
