I'm just a homeowner doing a small project, and I went to Cedar Supply specifically because I wanted cleaner, straighter lumber than what I usually find at Home Depot. The front office person was very pleasant and helpful, and that part of the experience was great. Unfortunately, the yard crew was difficult to deal with. I accidentally pulled in the exit, apologized, and corrected it, but the employee made a bigger issue out of it than necessary. Then when I picked up my six 2x4x12s, they seemed ready to give me some of the worst boards in the pile. I ended up selecting my own while they stood there staring at me. What a great experience!! These guys really know what they are doing! I called in and spoke to Jarrod, he was very helpful, willing to work with me and got me all the info I needed to build a fence. Once we confirmed a delivery date, I was given a delivery window. Shortly before the window started Dustin their driver called to let me know he was in route and wanted to know if there were any specific delivery needs. Once I confirmed what they were he showed up shortly afterward and delivered the order complete, on time and exactly where I specified. Jed at Cedar Supply has been very helpful in my backyard project. The project required a sand set paver installation (23x20 fr), a decorative wall that included cedar from Cedar Supply and two waterfalls, and lastly a paver path from behind the garage to the front of the house. Jed was instrumental in walking me through all these processes, selection of materials and was readily available via the phone and email (even on off work hours). I went to Cedar Supply on 3/8/21 for some fence pickets. When I drove into the parking lot I noticed there was a part of the parking that had discounted lumber and composite decking in it. I fond the fence pickets I was looking for in the discount pile. I was given a great deal on them. I then asked how much they were asking for composite decking. The lady that was helping me didn't know so she asked the other person at the counter and he didn't know either so they asked Nate ( I believe that was his name) and he said $1 a foot i know that was a great deal. So I asked the If they said $1 a foot they said yes. I told them that I had to figure out how much I needed. I went back the next day and told them how much i was going to buy and that is when the price I was told more then tripled. I then told him what I was quoted yesterday and he said that's not the price. He then check with the same person who (Nate) quoted me the price the day before and he quoted the more then tripled price as well. If Nate didn't have the authority to quote prices then the other employees should not go to him and if he does have the authority to quote prices he should honor what he quoted. That is not how a Company should be run. It's unfortunate if that's the way they do Business. Just keep this in mind this company can't be trusted. CAVEAT EMPTOR (LET THE BUYER BEWARE) read more

I just had to vinyl fence is built from Cedar Supply. They had great referrals for the insulation and their product is much much better than the big box stores. Their customer service is great. All of the sales personnel were eager to help me out. I will be definitely using them soon when I build my deck. read more

Terrible experience at this lumber yard we live seven minutes from. Placed a special order for a 2 x 12 x 18 piece of wood for a pergola we wanted to build. Paid an extra $30 to have a special design cut on ends. Total cost for this piece of wood was $140. When we went to pick it up, upon inspection, we noticed the end of the wood (that was cut) was split in half and cracked on the front. We refused to take the wood which caused a fiery debate with one of the employees in the lumber yard. Was told that all wood cracks and splits. Maybe so but we're not customers who buy damaged merchandise from any business. Several of our neighbors have pergolas and we can't seem to find any large cracks on theirs. Guess we'll need to ask them who they bought their wood from and do business with them. Will never do business with Cedar Supply in Fort Collins again! read more

BYER BEWARE!!!!! When they tell you no exchanges on standard material they mean it. INSPECT every piece of material purchased. Their loaders load you fast and get you out of there and then your stuck with whatever garbage material is in the middle of the stack. I can assure you that they have lost my business and I will spread the word to everyone I know to stick with the big box stores, at least they will make exchanges. All this over a lousy 6 fence pickets that cost 16.00 and I hope my review prevents at least one customer from buying there. I understand what it says on the receipt so don't respond with that. The point is make sure your customers are told to inspect every piece and give them the opportunity instead of three loaders loading my truck and getting me out of there in about 3 minutes. read more

I have to say I can't recommend this company anymore. I think they've gotten too busy and as such have become careless with their orders and uncaring about their customers. I had to wait a week for delivery of my composite deck, the were short a driver The day of delivery and hence were four hours late. Okay, I can understand that, but not happy that my contractor had to wait around all day without an update from CS. Poor customer service! My contractor gets started working on the project and a couple of days later when it came to putting the metal rail up Cedar supply had given us the completely wrong brackets, they were wood screws not the proprietary brackets and screws that you have to use on this rail. Ugh! My contractor made another trip up there only to find out that they don't have them in stock and have to special order them. Really?!?! Now we wait another who knows how long to get them. Whoever placed and packaged that order completely messed it up. You'd think they'd double check it before sending it out for delivery. Like I said , they're too busy anymore and the details are being overlooked Dylan, I'm here waiting for Miles to show up to look at a warranty and/or defect on the composite floor. It stains just with water, nothing else, just water. That's not acceptable and Miles said he would look at this evening at 5:45, it's now 6:10. If he doesn't show up I will be calling you to make this whole deck fiasco right. read more

We recently redid our balcony with composite wood material. After shopping around we found a good price and excellent service at Cedar Supply. While doing the decking we also purchased and installed a cable railing system. With some good advice from the nice folks at Cedar Supply our deck and railing went in almost without a hitch. There is a learning curve to everything, and the help we go reduce that curve. Several of our neighbors purchased their decking material from Cedal Supply and feel the same way. An awful and expensive experience with this "local" company. We were sold poor quality cedar boards and posts. We had to schedule/reschedule 5+ deliveries to only receive poor quality (cedar) product. The 4x4 posts to build arbor have cracked and twisted; the cedar board planks cracked and or split, and we were advised that we "could wait on stain and or paint." In the meantime, we learned from a box store that in the Colorado summer sunshine and heat, "you need to prepare/preserve the cedar boards, etc. or they will dry out, split, and crack." This has been a summer-hot-long (nightmare) project that should have taken only a few weeks to build at most. Most of the time and issue was directly related to NOT receiving quality cedar product; and so, several trips for delivery took up to 3-4 weeks because of several deliveries. Needless to say, we are out a lot of money, while unable to use the deck. Fortunately, we had to pay one delivery charge ($65), rather than 5+. Still, I cannot recommend this company. read more
