I have been a resident here for six years I moved here from New York City. I have seen and been through a lot with this property and management. After three days of living in my apartment we had to leave for 8hrs for the exterminator to do an embalming because the new carpet they installed had Rug Flea's and my family was getting eaten up. So after that was taking care of my Sun room window started leaking water every time it rained it got so bad that top of the window collapse and had to be replaced, and the company couldn't find out what was going on, meanwhile Mold is growing. Then Termites started eating the walls and base boards. It took them Four years to move me and my family out to another apartment. And then only reason the did that was because of the 97 pictures I sent them because " on " there was No record of my complaints and maintenance and companies coming to my Apartment. This was Account to the New manager Tamara. My family was move to another apartment and as We were moving into that apartment it's was Infested with Roaches I went to Tamara the Property Manager about the infestation and her Exact Word to me was Oh Yeah We saw the infestation when we pulled and replaced the carpet so we set up for the Exterminator to come out and treat your apartment. When I asked her Why did she have to Exterminator come out and do an embalming before we moved in and she couldn't give me a clear response. AFTER Numerous complaints about the Roaches she finally had the exterminator come out and do an embalming.It took her six months to do that I've lost food because of her negligence. So you would think that- that would be the End right? No I started seeing spots and markings on the Walls and The Windows Mold I reported it and She had maintenance come and spray some spray to fix the problem. After eight months Tamara decided to have a company come out and take pictures. The guy she hired confirmed it was Mold and it was a lot it was in the walls Ceiling , in the Closets ,and windows I had to throw Away clothing Shoes Beds belts hats half of my kids things toys. I had Three Huge Holes in the Ceiling for four that the company she hire made. I continued to pay my Rent and She Failed to Fix the Problems. So I held my Rent to get my issues taken care of and All that did Was help her to file and Eviction on me. I found out that I couldn't hold my rent. I told the judge that I had the money to pay I just want the issues taken care of Well the judge denied that and Said that they just want me out of the apartment. The judge tried to give me time to leave and Tamara kept trying to do a 24hrs Notice. After going back and forth in court , Tamara had My Entire Family A Five year Old Autistic Child, A 12 year old with ADHD, A 9year old, and a 1 year old ,and Two Service Dogs , put out on the Streets All of our things Outside on the Streets. And as the process was happening Tamara Stand With A Smile On Her Face. THE MODEL APARTMENT IS OLD AND OUT DATED OH AND INFESTED WITH TERMITES. A Tenant that lived in the apartment next door entire apartment was infested because they broke through the walls. And Tamara refused to move her and her family mind you she had a young son who woke up to termites all over him this company DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS. DON'T be fooled people are leaving Even the Newly Formed Residents No stays past Three to Six months. THE BUILDING ARE FAILING APART. THE TRASH COMPACTOR ALWAYS BROKEN. GATE NEVER WORKING. AND PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE LEXINGTON COUNTY POLICE/SHERIFF AND STATE TROOPER CARS IN THE COMMUNITY THEY GET A DISCOUNT. I WOULD NOT GIVE ANY STARS BUT YELP IS MAKING ME. read more

From inadequate parking spots, trash piles because the trash compactor constantly breaking down for days, slow maintenance turnaround, poor landscaping and old, rusted appliances, it's not worth the monthly rent. All the kitchen appliances and the cabinets are extremely old and outdated. You will hear the train at 4, 5 am and during the day. Car's raving up their engines late at night. The bathtubs all squeak when you get in them and bugs are continually creeping in because the weather stripping on the door is inadequate. I relocated from another state and the reviews would have me believe this is a great place to live, but it really isn't. The pool has been closed for 2 months for remodeling. The office staff is polite. But this place simply isn't worth the monthly rent. I will not be renewing once my lease is up! read more

I would not give Ceadercrest five stars. I started my process in April for a move in date of July 1st. This allowed for any foreseeable issues to be resolved by the move in date. I scheduled an appointment to view the apartment with my Aunt and cousin. Karen the assistant apartment manager said she need a copy of all of our ID's and she can't allow us to view the apartment alone. At the time there was a first month off promotion I asked can that apply to me. I was advised they would have a new promo by July so no. Low and behold the same promo was available but I was told no I can't have because now it was for people moving in the next 30 days and their rent would be higher. I pointed out to Karen and Tamara my rent is already around 1400 I don't think it can be higher than that. Needless to say I didn't get the promotion. I asked when will the walk through occur I was told when I pay the first months rent. I asked when is the security gate going to be fixed( there is no eta). In prior Yelp review a tenant stated they change the rules on the pool as they see fit which is true. When I moved in I noticed Karen was so much friendlier to the people moving in and even advised the second co- signer could come in anytime but everything with me is if you don't have a signature or an apartment number on this document within 2 days we will give the unit away. Ooh let me not forget about the hidden fees. You really have no choice but to pay online and Karen was not helpful or informative on how these could be avoided I have paid about $100 In unnecessary fees. As i am waiting on Karen to give my keys so I can start accepting deliveries and inspecting the unit she was so silent not providing me the next steps or anything. I got sick of the silence and asked her what was next. She was visible irritated bc she wanted to show another couple a unit. Remember she said no one can be in the unit without her. Not in the case she gave the couple the keys as she was rushing me through the process. When we got to my unit the upstairs neighbor was so loud we had to yell to speak. I asked is it always this loud? I've complained so much about the noise. I've just given up. The noise starts about 7:30 am and can end around 2:30 am daily. I've complained about the critter (big roach) that beat my daughter to the freezer to see what was in it. His little friends also joined us in the sun room and wanted to make to the bedrooms, I guess to tuck us in. When I told Tamara about this there was no apologies her response was I will put you back on the list. Heads up buy your own raid and spray the front door. When I make a maintenance request verbally they act as if I shouldn't hold them to a higher expectations. When we moved in both showers was stained and Karen response was yeah I saw that and tried to clean it. The only solution to have it cleaned was a acid wash and thought I would turn it down and then they wanted to do one tub and come back at another date for another. No mam do them both. I came home to a broken shower rod. The work I have requested: front lock was hard to use, bathtubs, lights not working at all ( was told by Karen to replace the bulb it wasn't a bulb issue), toilet handle cracked, bugs and noise complaints. It has now been 30 days nothing has been done about the upstairs noise, the critters are at least dying before they can make it all the way in the living room. Majority of the minor things are fixed. We just signed a lease a week ago.... And first the amenities in the clubhouse that are said to be 24 hours are not. Said to be due to the pandemic but across the state all other things are open but guess they are milking that. Next my teenagers were sent back from the pool because they were told that they have to have an adult with them. When my lease says they have to be (14). Called the office and they said they have to be 18 that they sent out an email. I literally just signed this lease and have received no email. I told her and she (Chelsea) let me know if I sent them back to the pool it would be a violation of my lease WHAT. Sounds like they are violating my lease. I asked to talk to a manager she said she was the manager and the other won't be in for two days. So I highly do not recommend since everything in your lease is BS and if you try to do anything about it you will be told you will be violated or they will "politely" call the police even though you are following the rules of the lease that you signed read more

Personally, I would not recommend these apartments to anyone I know looking for a home; regardless of being permanently or short term. I have had only issues upon moving in. On move in day, my carpet was still pretty wet as it had just been cleaned the morning of (or night before) so I was very limited on what all I could actually move in, regardless I started being charged from that day forward. A quick inspection was done and I was handed the keys. About a week of moving I was finally "ready" to stay in my apartment and I started noticing some little maintenance things that had been missed (no bathroom lightbulb, a toilet that wouldn't stop running after being flushed, my gate card not working, a dead battery in my smoke alarm, and soon after my AC unit not cooling properly) . So I was a little annoyed, but I understood things happened. I called and told the office and was quickly gave an attitude by the worker. She was quick to inform me that I can put maintenance requests in online but she would do me a favor and help me this time. I tried to inform her I hadn't got internet set up yet to put any maintenance requests in online but she snapped back telling me I could use my phone. There was no customer service or sense of concern from the apartment property side. They seemed highly annoyed I was even calling about these things versus being friendly and helping me solve the issues. My AC unit was replaced and then it shortly failed to cool again and I went 4 days before anyone came to look at it, in the meantime I received no updates or communication as to when I could expect a fix. I also again received no concern or customer service. I ended up having a higher power bill due the the Unit constantly running for those 4 days, as well as due to me having to run fans constantly to try and keep the apartment I pay to live in, livable. I was never given a statement from the apartment complex to give the power people or any compensation. Overall, I think the management is at best, poor and customer service has failed. Nice quiet apt complex worth checking out!! Prices in range of similar apt complex. There's only 2 apt complexes in Lexington I would even consider living at and choose CedarCrest Village Apts and been here 5 years and plan to continue calling this my home. Management pleasant to work with on anything that may arise, quick response on maintenance issues which are rare.Great safe place to live with a mixed age and ethnic group. Always something going on for the community to get involved with from kids to adults. Come by and check out one of the top rated Apts in the county. I don't know where to begin. Im only commenting on my experience but Im sure there are others who have to had experience similar situations. The only way you can reach them is through email and they don't fix your issues unless you continuously follow up with them on it. I was attacked by the office manager in reference to getting my work orders completed which had lingered since December 28-January 30 (yesterday) and I called the police and I contacted the corporate office who never called me back for about 2-3 days. I was finally contacted by the supervisor who basically gave ME three options: 1-move , 2-move, or 3-they would have a private conversation with the manager. I pressed charges, but nothing ever happened because I didn't have a black eye basically. No one should ever be able to put there hands on someone and get away with it via judicially or employee related.(In that case I should have knocked her on her ***) but that's what I get for "Doing the right thing". The water comes from the big pond in the middle of the complex and you pay the water company in N.C. not the county in Lexington. The pond smells horrible and it gets clogged and UGH! I can't believe it. The apartment needs to be refurnished. You can hear everything through the walls. The lease is a bunch of bull. Read it carefully. It basically says that they aren't liable for anything. Not even the mildew in the apartment which was here when I moved in. It took them almost a year to get rid of the mildew. The model apt looks nothing like the actual apartment you move into. There is a train that runs right alongside the entire apartment complex all day long. Literally and you will be awakened every time they blow the horn and I mean they LAY on it. I have a long list and the emails to prove everything that I have mentioned. I don't have all day to keep going on. The only reason Im still here is because Im in a lease and my husband is in the military and we have to move in the next two months.... Its an inconvenience to move and spend the extra money but I am definitely not renewing my lease with this place. We have been living here for about 1.5 years. When we first got here the management was terrible, the overall property was severely neglected, we saw management and staff to change about every 2 weeks, no way to ever get in contact with anyone...the list is never ending. However, I feel so compelled to give a great review because management changed a while back and stayed. Besides a few changes - for the better- we have a solid amazing crew available most of the time (yes, they are not in the office for a few minutes while showing an apartment...it happens). They are nice, and are open to suggestions. The property itself has had a lot done, issues have been addressed, and I can honestly say it is the tenants that are the real issue here at this point-not management. But you have those tenants everywhere you go in apartment complexes. So I do recommend this place because it is great value for the price you pay in rent and utilities. They are extremely dog friendly, and really give their best to work with you and try to make you a happy tenant. Good job to the current management team-you guys are awesome and you really turned this place around. read more

I cannot say enough bad things about this apartment complex. First, you only get to see the model and the actual apartment looks nothing like the model, the carpet was filthy, the stove was filthy, the garbage disposal and dishwasher smelled like puke no matter how many times I cleaned it AND the walls are stucco, meaning they are not smooth so forget using those 3M picture hangers to avoid damaging the walls. The garbage was always piled up outside of the dumpster down the sidewalk to the street - always. There is a security gate but it NEVER works so what's the point. The staff is NEVER available, if you go into the office to speak to someone be prepared to sit and wait awhile and they never answer the phone and do not return to calls.
