Today we attended the Zyntango Farm Holiday Market in Whitestown. Parking in the surrounding grassy…read moreyard made for a muddy walk with the sporadic rain. There were two individuals helping to direct parking which helped tremendously. The beautiful Zyntango Farm Barn is an authentic 1800's barn with modern amenities. It's an event venue for weddings, receptions, graduations, bridal showers, family reunions, corporate retreats and special events. It's located about 5 minutes from Whitestown on the NW side of Indy in the countryside. Just 3 miles off of I-65, one exit north of the Zionsville exit and less than 30 minutes from downtown Indy. The barn is two stories with a flight of stairs. I'm not sure of the barn capacity but I would think this is best for a small to medium size event. The free Holiday Market had approximately 18 - 20 vendors in attendance. Cork and Wine Barrel was there along with a jewelry artist, a tattoo artist and Fantasy face painter, chocolate and cookie makers, a candle maker, a variety of signs, a small boutique, a lap blanket quilter and an artist displaying her oil paintings. One of the vendors, Keepsakes By Design, does personalized itching in glass cookware which is perfect for our bakers in the family. A couple of small food and beverage vendors were onsite with BBQ sandwiches, hot chocolate and soda. I found several vendors that is perfect for hostess gifts and family Christmas presents. So glad we took the time to visit today.

Oh my goodness, this place is gorgeous... Talk about a breath taking venue, this is it. What you…read moresee from the street approaching does not prepare you for what actually awaits you. I was here for a bridal open house and the entire staff was wonderful from the moment I arrived. Parking was not an issue everything was handled in that area. The venue was showcased as an indoor outdoor attraction and I loved finding out the possibilities. You are able to rent the space for any occasion which I found awesome and many of the working relationships they have established to provide services are amazing. A sunset gathering here would be amaze balls. Just beautiful. If given the opportunity to check out the newly finished improvements made by all means do.

Important update - Carnival rides have returned to the Boone County Fair. Rides run from Wed -…read moreSaturday. I saw over a dozen rides including my favorite, the merry-go-round. Lots of carnival games were set up to open this afternoon. The Beehive cafe offers air conditioned, clean dining courtesy of the Boone County Extension Homemakers. I had a $5 Pork Tenderloin, which was a great deal. I also enjoyed watermelon and fried mushrooms, but used great restraint to not indulge in the locally made pies. The people are salt-of-the-earth friendly with a common love of agriculture. This year, there were more food trucks than in past years. I saw funnel cakes, corn dogs, blooming onions and much more. Lots of animals, exhibits and events are scheduled throughout the event. I don't know what "barrel racing" is, but it's happening tonight. Parking and admission are still FREE, so you can use all your money on food! Parking was easy in and out. This is a great small town fair with reasonable prices and lots of fun. The fair runs July 29-26.

What was amazing and appreciated is the fairground not only had the buildings air conditioned but also had connecting tunnels between buildings. So it felt like being in one big building. Each building had access to indoor restrooms that were very well maintained. Participants RVs had access to set ups directly next to the buildings so it wasnt a long hike to show ones dogs. Regular parking wasnt far away. Plus plenty of handicapped spots. Really liked this venue. Would come here again. I would attend this venue again.

They were…read morehosting a wedding reception, which completely filled their parking lot, but that was not the hiccup as the restaurant seemed unaffected, so kudos to Moontown for being able to handle an event on top of their normal Saturday dining crowd. The primary issue was our service. While she was friendly, decent windows of time seemed to pass between her visits. She also did not provide us with utensils/napkins, as my wife requested them from the bar after our meals arrived, nor plates for our shared appetizer items. The food was very good, for the most part, as we continue to enjoy their Baked White Bean Hummus ($14) and the Greek Goddess Salad ($17) is excellent. I also do like their Fries ($3.50), as they are seasoned well with a nice exterior crunch, although it seemed like we had been given the bottom of the basket as a good bit of our order was crumbs. Drinks were OK. My wife wishes they offered a dry cider option, but their A&E Fleeting Youth ($7) consistently tends to be the closest to that offering. While I realize it's summer, I prefer porters and stouts that are on the sweeter side as opposed to coffee-esque. But the only option was their Into the Void, which I thought leaned into a coffee flavor, so I chose their King of Troy ($6.50), which was a decent lager. So I continue at 4 stars, in hopes our next visit will have service with a bit more awareness, fries from the top of the basket, and some of their other beer options that hit the spot in the past.

This place is easily dressed up or dressed down depending on what type of style or theme you are going for. It's only about an hour north of Indianapolis, and honestly not too bad of a drive. The land the barn sits on is HUGE and private giving you the feel if having your own private party. The barn is nice and spacious and comfortably holds a solid 80 people with lots of space for a dance floor. From what I could tell you're able to bring your own decorations but the barn already has gorgeous lights hanging from the ceiling (sorry forgot to grab a pic) which provide LOTS of lighting. The staff was very helpful and from what I was able to gather possibly all related! I know the places is family owned! They were all so nice! The bartender made us (my friends and i) a drink called "tooti fruity" and it did not disappoint! It was by far once of the best mixed drinks I ever had. They barn also had a mirror photo booth....if you have never experienced one......they're amazing! It's a big mirror about 7 ft tall, you press the screen, it counts down, and you take a picture. The best part is you type in you cell phone number and it texts you! If you're looking for an exclusive feeling place to hold your next event........look into this place!
