Love Moontown - the beer, the food, the vibe, the history - such a great spot! The service is friendly and the menu is good. We had a variety of beers across the table and all were great. This visit we tried the soft pretzel bread pudding and it was delicious. Might not be the best value, but it's always enjoyed. Note: Moontown is closed on Mondays.

Such a beautiful brewery! I'm not sure when it was renovated, but I love that it was once a gym. Between two schools. Very friendly bartender who shared a bit of the history of this stunning brewery. A large space which makes sense for the events they seem to hold there. I saw a few advertisements near the entrance. I was traveling back home (down south) with my partner and stumbled upon this lovely place. The beer options wasn't large. Which I appreciate because I become overwhelmed and I also know a small draft list means an incredible effort has been placed into making each beer. I love to the unique styles they offer. Such good beer! And a great brewpub food menu. I highly recommend a stop at this unexpected jewel!

We've been here a few times and it's always a great time! We've had nothing but awesome service. The beer is really good and the food is phenomenal! We came for their whiskey weekend specials and it did not disappoint :) we love that they are dog friendly on the patio and inside during a couple events in the year.

As locals, we go here pretty often! Staff is usually pretty great! Excellent variety of beers, the food is always great, just wish the menu was a bit bigger but that's just because I'm picky! Highly recommend especially for beer enthusiasts!

We didn't get food due to the menu being in accurate. Says garlic wings with a buffalo sauce but the only had Bbq sauce. The waitress said the cook "Does not like Substituting" which would not have been a substitution, just what was on the menu. The beer flight was nice. They give you the opportunity to get a lot of choices. Ambiance was cute. I would go back for the beer and the Ambience for sure!

We have mixed feelings about our recent visit. While the beer, as always, was fantastic and worth coming back for, the food experience was unfortunately a hit or miss--again. The brisket was absolutely delicious, the mac and cheese creamy and comforting, and the corn dogs were a hit with everyone at the table. However, the kids' meal was disappointing--our toddler was served cold, stale fries, which really put a damper on the experience. We also missed the variety of sauces they used to have on the menu--it was one of the things that made this place stand out for us. That said, we still bring visiting family here for the beer, which never fails to impress. If the food could match the consistency and quality of the drinks, this place would be unbeatable.

Came in a couple of weeks ago as I had heard great things about the barbecue, apps, and brews... (fun fact-no longer serve barbecue). Pros - Speed of food service - Warmth of food - Clean and has a fun and lively vibe - Fries were great! (Pretzel app too) - Lots of tables and space for a party of 2 or 22 Cons - Slow service (evening we went service was very slow and spotty) - Order incorrect, may have just been a rough night overall

Moontown Brewing Company has a lot of cool history, and I love how they repurposed this schoolhouse. They did a great job with the space. I ended up drinking one of Ash & Elms ciders... not time I will get something from Moontown. For dinner I had the pulled pork, and macaroni and cheese. I liked how they served it with 2 small buns so you could make sliders if you wanted. Also, they had a lot of bbq sauce options which I loved and tried them all.

Wings & macaroni with ranch dressing. Horrible!
    Mekisha C.

So much to say. I ordered wings & they were the smallest wings I've ever seen & weren't good. Lots of garlic. The macaroni was Kraft with extra garlic. The place was beautiful but the food was abysmal. Even my kid didn't finish & she was hungry. They charge 3% fee for using a cc & they don't tell you. They charged us $.50 for mayo. No substitutions! You can remove things but can switch or add anything that it doesn't come with. I'm never returning

Incredible selection of house brews, dark and brooding, clear and refreshing, a menu with ideas executed correctly, I couldn't make up my mind! Sampled their world winning Octoberbest, I found it very similar to the ideal smooth and crispy Sam Adams seasonal beer, tried then went with a growler fill of the lager. Bitter forward rich and complex, cannot quite place the overall notes which is fine, there is plenty to slowly enjoy. Just like this place in the heart of american Midwest, polite staff, beautiful and large bar and main rooms, kid friendly spaces, and there's an outdoor patio as well. It all makes Moontown a place to return for nights and sunshine.

Great building with history. Good food. Had brisket potato soup that was amazing. Loved the deviled egg salad sandwich too.

Decent food and craft beers. The menu has far less options than in past years but everything is tasty and reasonably priced.

Probably took 5 minutes before someone acknowledged us, at which point some folks had left the bar towards the end of the dining area, so we claimed 3 stools there so that we could watch the World Cup game on their big screen TV to the side of the bar. I ordered a flight [$14, plus $1 upcharge for a seasonal nitro] to get a sampling of their offerings. The Bird Dog Brown, Big 4, Black Parade, and Bourbon Bock were all fine, but the Borracha stood out as the best and most original flavor of the batch. My wife and I split three items. The Jumbo Pretzel ($12) was a disappointment as they changed it from the last time we came. It previously was a large pretzel in the traditional shape that tasted like it was made in house, but this was a collection of grandiose pretzel bites arranged in a circle around a bowl of the provided beer cheese. It simply wasn't as good in flavor nor quantity I believe. The basket of Parmesan fries ($9) were a decent amount of fries covered in parmesan shreds and also had some sauce that covered the middle bottom of the basket that was OK. The star was the Fried Mushrooms ($10), which were beer battered portobello slices that tasted outstanding. Overall, a mostly solid combination of food and beverage to take in the game. Would absolutely get the Borracha and Fried Mushrooms again.

Klooz Brewz came up in a google search, so we took a gamble...and it paid off! We were seated right away and the server was quick and efficient with our order. Their brunch menu was a hit with 3 of us who ordered off of it (French toast as the bread for breakfast sandwiches?! Genius!). I built my own seasonal flight and enjoyed all of the 5 pours. My personal favorite was the red IPA. I love red ales, and this a delicious one. We decided this was a perfect halfway meeting place that was a crowd pleaser for all of us--even my two teenagers!

One being how they consistently roll out new monthly specials - they're always creative, and the names and descriptions are so much fun. The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it. It's plated thoughtfully, with complementary sides that keep each bite balanced. If you're at Big Lug Canteen, don't pass up those two dishes -- they demonstrate skilled technique, bold yet nuanced seasoning, and a real sense of care in the kitchen. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, solid value. Highly recommended.
