She was patient through his attachment issues and great all around. He then went to a classroom with Ms. Alina and Ms. Monica, two teachers he is still very fond of. They've been great and flexible on those days when he wanted to reach out to them for comfort. Now he's with Ms. Krystal and Ms. Christian and they are great, too. They are loving with these kids, firm when they need to be, and teach them a lot. Overall, I'm very impressed with how these teachers handle the kids as well as my concerns as a parent. I always look in on my son for a moment before walking in to pick him up to see how he's doing without me, and he's always happy. Another thing that gives this facility an advantage over others are the web cameras. It's just another way to feel secure as a parent when you can see your child. My son went to Kids R Kids for a little over two years -- from the time he was a baby until he was 3 1/2. At first, everything seemed great. His teachers adored him, he loved going, and he had a little group of friends he grew up with as he moved from room to room. But things changed when he moved into his last classroom. Around this time, he was going through a lot -- a new teacher, a much larger class, starting potty training, and having to watch most of his close friends move on to another room right outside his own. It was a lot for a little boy to handle all at once. Instead of being given understanding and support, his struggles were treated like major behavior problems. We started getting constant phone calls about his "bad" behavior -- things like hitting or throwing chairs -- but when I spoke to his teacher, her version sounded much more like typical toddler behavior. Still, the administration's tone made me feel like I was failing as a mom and that my son was somehow broken. The final straw came when, after one especially hard day, they slid a brochure across the counter for an early intervention program for "special needs." I left in tears, feeling completely defeated. Out of desperation, I had a child psychologist observe him -- and she told us there was nothing wrong with our son. She even said it was wrong for the school to suggest such a program without us initiating it. It broke my heart to realize that instead of helping him through a tough transition, the administration had given up on him. We eventually withdrew him, and I'm so glad we did -- he's thriving now. I truly believe many of his teachers cared and did their best, but the administration completely failed us. They lacked the training, empathy, and communication needed to support my child when he needed it most. Our son deserved better. Every child does.

We waited a few weeks after withdrawing him before sharing our experience because we wanted to be sure he was adjusting well in a different environment and he truly is. Pros: Good curriculum and a clean, secure facility. Cons: From the very first day, his teacher (Angela) repeatedly told us that he "doesn't listen," and that first impression never seemed to change. Instead of partnering with us, we felt that our son was being singled out with a continued negative focus. We tried to discipline him more at home based on this feedback, and in hindsight, we regret how this affected him. Communication was almost nonexistent. We asked for weekly updates and only received one. The school app, where teachers are expected to communicate, had very limited personalized information. Interactions with his teacher often felt unfriendly. When we greeted her in the mornings, she provided cold response, which made us feel unwelcome rather than supported. Management was unaware of these ongoing issues until we brought them up. While they expressed willingness to help, but we felt that their suggestions were not convincing. We completely understand that teachers can be firm, that is perfectly fine. But fairness and collaboration matter. When a child is viewed through a negative lens from day one, that can impact not only their confidence but also the parent-school relationship. We ultimately removed him because we did not want him in an environment that felt discouraging. He is now attending a new Pre-K program and has adjusted wonderfully. In several weeks, we have not received a single complaint from his new teachers. This reassured us that his struggles at Goddard were not due to who he is as a child, but the environment he was placed in. Most reviews for this school are very positive, and that is exactly why we feel obligated to share our honest experience. If we had known, we would not have enrolled our son here. Parents considering this Pre-K program should ask clear questions about communication and how behavior concerns are handled.
