Our hotels were all booked properly, so my girlfriend and I never really had any issues checking in to any of our lodgings as we traveled across southern Spain. This is about where the good things end. Our travel agent came across as someone accustomed to doing business in a different era, largely in that she was much easier to deal with in person than she was electronically. Emails would often go unanswered for longer-than-acceptable stretches of time, and some emails just went unanswered altogether. I understood that the agency was busy during the time we were planning our trip, so I would have been okay with a "Got your email! Get back to you soon!" response, which I rarely received It also seemed like our agent had a hard time recognizing and adapting to our preferences as travelers and individuals. This essentially made the whole booking process more stressful and aggravating than it needed to be - I'd never used a travel agent before this experience, and I'm unlikely to seek one out again, given how poorly this experience went. In short, if you're the type of traveler who likes to have a trip pre-planned for you in its entirety by a fairly knowledgeable individual, these folks might work out for you. On the other hand, if you want to find someone who's going to work alongside you to design a trip that takes your wants, needs, and preferences into account, stay far, far, away.

If it wasn't for Karen and her relentless fight on our behalf, we would have been out $7,000 for a cruise that was cancelled and rescheduled 3 times! And yes...we bought travel insurance. The cruise line wanted to give us FCC's instead of a refund. Karen fought for us until the cruise line buckled and finally agreed to provide us a full refund! Now...for the GOOD news!! Although we are not able to take the cruise we wanted (due to Canada water ports being closed until at least 02/2022), Karen helped us find a GREAT vacation package that takes us to our intended destination...ALASKA! Karen and her associate, Andrea are both professional, personable, and well-informed on the day-to-day changes and updates to the travel industry. We were updated regularly, and received timely responses when we reached out. This was our first time using a travel agent, and I don't know why anyone would NOT choose to use this service, as there's no additional cost to the consumer. I think the best part of having Karen and Andrea help us was their knowledge of so many small details of the trip we were booking. From the excursion experience to the quality of the hotels, these ladies were able to make recommendations based on their own personal travel experiences, and the shared experiences of their other customers. They're a wealth of knowledge, with a friendly face! What more could you ask for?! :)

I did appreciate her honesty on what's actually necessary for my daughter vaccine-wise before our trip. I was well aware that there was going to be a fee for the consultation alone and was also prepared to pay upfront for any vaccines that needed to be administered right away. Luckily, the nurse just recommended I keep my upcoming doctor's appointment for my daughter and they can handle it all there through my insurance. I also appreciated how easy it was to find the place (even though it can look misleading, as the business plaza looks a bit like an apartment complex). If you follow your GPS, you should have no issues. Another bonus is how tech-friendly the place is. Much more modern and straight to the point.

And then when I declined to get any vaccinations at that time, they charged $99 for the information we discussed, which I could have found on the internet. The nurse at my doctor's office recommended Passport Health, highly disappointed that she did. Should have done my research instead of trusting her! Walgreens offers all routine vaccinations and works with your health insurance, plus many Walgreens locations also offer travel vaccinations.

We had some issues with 2 tours that we booked through Ride the Wave and Jim was fast to respond and assist. One of the tours we ended up having to cancel due to scheduling issues. I reached out to Jim to let him know and he worked on getting the refund process started right away and I received a confirmation email from the tour vendor the same day. We're now just waiting for it to get credited back to our card. The peace of mind of our trip being taken care of by professionals is invaluable. I can't recommend enough going through a travel agency for big trips because you just never know what could happen.
