We used Celebrity Sitters for our 9 month old son while we were in Palm Desert for a 4 day conference, and I highly recommend them for your babysitting needs. When calling Celebrity Sitters, Vicky was prompt at communicating with me through both phone calls and email. Also, because my son is only 9 months old, she made sure she reached out to her most experienced sitters that also had CPR/First Aid certifications. She also worked to find someone with availability for all the days I needed babysitting, and that's when she connected me with Veronica! Veronica was an absolute blessing! She already has 4 children of her own, so I felt extremely comfortable with her. She communicated with me beforehand via texting and phone calls, and she was always on time. She also brought a full suitcase full of toys appropriate for a 9 month old, which is great because we flew in and couldn't bring much. Also, while she was babysitting, she sent text updates and photos throughout the day and night, and she would also meet me around the hotel so I could see my son during the conference. She also gave me full reports of how much my son slept and ate each day, which is important to me because we try to keep him on a schedule. First time ever using a babysitting service. Called Celebrity Sitters to request for a sitter while staying at the Renaissance's Hotel in Palm Springs for my 2 and 3 year old children. Veronica showed up with a suitcase full of toys for the kiddos. Was wearing a mask and hung out with them in the hotel room while I attended a work conference for a few hours. She asked for any special request for the children, allergies, or if the kids needed to be put down for bed/nap. Very experienced sitter, calmed my 2 year old who has extreme stranger danger. We love Veronica!!! She has given me great piece of mind when I need a sitter for my kids. It's very hard to start fresh with a new area & a new sitter but not with her expertise... She always shows up prepared with crafts, games, etc. which makes it very helpful for my Tweens who are not always excited for a sitter! My only complaint would be that payment is due in cash... We have used Celebrity Sitters twice (once last year and once this past week). We called Celebrity Sitters a year ago for our 11-month old daughter. Peggy was incredibly sweet and caring to her. When we came back to Palm Springs again this year, we specifically requested Peggy for our now busy 2-year old. Peggy again was sweet and caring, bringing fun toys that made our daughter warm up to her instantly. When I left my daughter cried, but Peggy started singing nursery songs and she stopped (I had hardly closed the door behind me!). My daughter has woken up these past two mornings asking for Peggy and told me she sang "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep." Makes me smile and confident that she was in good hands. We used Celebrity Sitters for our 2-year-old while we were at a family wedding at the Ace and staying at the Ace. We decided at the last minute to get a sitter and luckily Peggy was available, a 25-year former educator, grandmother-type. She arrived 15min early with a whole bag full of tricks, including CARS for my son to play with. He played with her and she helped him finish his dinner, get into PJs and somehow miraculously got him to go to bed for her, which is pretty much a first. (She sang to him!) She stayed in the room with him, reading with a book light, while he slept and we partied. She was professional and knowledgeable about kids, and gave me a detailed report when I checked in. She followed the few instructions we'd left for her. We would use this service again, definitely, when we visit Palm Springs. It's a bit pricy for if your kid is just sleeping, but all of the people have been background checked and are CPR certified, so it's maybe a better deal than a college student who isn't a pro. ....(I also might be inclined to get a bottom-floor room at the Ace with the outdoor patio; it gives you more options than the second floor room if you're staying for a few days.) Also FYI these sitters are not allowed to administer any medication to your child at all. I think it's a good policy, but might be of interest to anyone timing medications for a kid who needs them. read more

We used Celebrity Sitters back in May to book a babysitter for our 3 year old twins, I believe it was Irma? We were staying at the Hyatt Grand Champions. We were a little nervous as we have never used a sitter service before, in a hotel or elsewhere. We had told the kids that we were going out for the evening and that Irma would be coming to stay with them, and they were definitely not thrilled with the idea. My daughter even started to cry when the doorbell rang and my husband and I had some real misgivings. Well, we needn't have worried, Irma was absolutely wonderful. She arrived right on time with an absolutely ENORMOUS suitcase full of toys. Within 90 seconds of her walking in the room, my kids went from sobbing to saying "Bye Mom!" while barely looking up from the suitcase of goodies. We were a little anxious to leave our little daughter (2.5 months old) with a stranger, but both Vicky (the owner) and Veronica (our sitter) helped ease our worries. Absolutely amazing. We were spending a few days with our 3-year-old boy at Rancho Las Palmas, and through sheer luck I came across this sitting service and we decided to give it a try. Based on the numerous positive Yelp reviews I specifically requested Irma (also a preschool teacher) and we are SO glad we did!! She arrived a few minutes before her scheduled time, stayed in regular contact with us via text, and from the minute she walked in, our little boy - who is very selective and frequently gets a little emotional when we leave - was immediately engaged with her and at ease. Instead of following us around while we were finishing getting ready, he was immediately sitting down with her and going through the numerous things she brought (a HUGE suitcase, filled with toys and art materials) and when we left he was absolutely fine with it and did not mind one bit! When we returned we walked into a dining table covered from side to side in completed art projects, and he was so excited to tell us about everything they did. Hours after we came back, he even asked if we could call Irma to say "thank you" (which shocked us, he is a good kid but a normal 3 year old generally - the impulse came literally from a genuine sense of him liking her and feeling gratitude towards her and wanting to express it). Suffice it to say, the only thing that makes me sad about Irma is that she does not live in LA, because if she did I would hire her every time in a heartbeat. She is absolutely a caregiver in the most professional sense, with an almost Mary Poppins style personality. Afterwards, my husband asked why we couldn't find a babysitter like this in LA, and in fact Irma has raised the bar so high for me that I will try again. I got Irma today. She was beyond amazing. She met us at the Ace Hotel in her swimsuit. My son bonded with her immediately. Within minutes they were in the pool. She brought all sorts of toys and activity stuff. After swimming she took him to play and then took him to the room to paint and make all sorts of crafts! We had Ivy for two nights in a row and were confident our 5 year old was in good hands. Ivy is mature, used to be a teacher, and has been a full time nanny for babies on up. She arrived with puzzles, art projects, and kindergarten readiness worksheets. My daughter proudly showed off the crow and necklace she made the next morning. Ivy definitely wants to spend the time with your child productively and called our daughter a "learning machine" as she worked with her on writing letters and numbers.
