I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Fix Ur Crack- I made the mistake of allowing this company to replace the…read morescreen on my brand new iPhone, as it had a simple crack. After paying $180 CASH on Saturday May 10th, the screen was replaced for the first time. Immediately after the screen was replaced, there was an Error message on my screen, advising that the product was not compatible with Apple, and the screen was glitching. I advised the technician of this before I even left the parking lot, and I was told to wait over the weekend to see if the glitching would "resolve" itself. The glitching gradually became worse. After calling the store on Monday May 12th, I was assured that I could come back and have the screen replaced for a second time. When I arrive to the store, I was told that the screen was actually not in stock and it was currently being delivered from another store. I left the store, and then returned, hours later, at the time the technician advised it would be in stock. When I arrived to the store for the THIRD time, I was told the part hadn't been delivered yet. I never received a phone call, text message, email, or any other form of communication advising that the part hadn't arrived. I then waited for two additional hours... it still hadn't been delivered. When I requested a refund, I was told that it had to be processed in their system and that because I paid cash, they do not keep that amount on hand and someone with higher authority would have to go to the bank... I come back to the store the next day to have my screen repaired, once again. (I called and confirmed it was in stock and the technician advised that shipment had came in that day but hadn't yet opened the box, after I requested, multiple times, to be contacted when the part arrived). After about 30 minutes after the second screen was installed, my phone began overheating and would not hold a charge. I NEVER had this problem, not even once, prior to Fix Ur Crack installing their screens on my phone. I have requested, for weeks, to talk to the owner, Ryan Lawson, and he has not returned any of my phone calls or voicemails. Ryan had communicated through one of his technicians that he wants a chance to "resolve the issue" by testing multiple phone screens on my phone (that are not Apple products) to attempt a third screen replacement. Fix Ur Crack has had several opportunities to fix the problem that they caused. I have requested a refund of the cash that I paid to this business, as they have ruined my device and I have to pay $300 for a new phone. An additional $180 was literally wasted, and when I requested a refund, the company refused, and said they would consider putting my cracked phone screen back on, for the POSSIBILITY of a refund. When I asked if they still had my original, cracked screen, the technician responded with "Well, we keep the broken screens in a bin and I can't guarantee that it's still in there" ... I can no longer use my phone throughout the day, as it becomes too overheated. The battery life is nonexistent and I've advised, multiple times, to this company that I stay at home full time with my baby and NEED access to a phone, especially in the case of an emergency. I've learned my lesson by never paying cash to a business again, and I'm hoping that someone else doesn't make the same mistake by using Ryan Lawson's company, Fix Ur Crack. Ryan should consider Fixing His Morals.

For needs ranging from webpage design to troubleshooting complex applications, he always meets the project with enthusiasm and competency. If you have never been to an electronics shop (and seen lab instrumentation, components scattered…read morearound, equipment in the midst of repair, and carcasses of dead electronics being scavenged for parts) you might be put off by the outward appearance of James' shop which is chock-full of all the above. It is a sight that is a bit overwhelming at first and I must admit that, for a moment, I almost considered taking my malfunctioning vintage preamp elsewhere; but the fact is that, in coastal Delaware, there really IS no "elsewhere," so the only other option would be to scrap it or sell it for parts on eBay. After checking out suitable new replacements for my preamp it was pretty obvious that I'd have to spend upwards of $500 to go that route, so I figured I'd give James a try. And I'm glad I did. James is a real gentleman and a disciplined technician. I have a background in engineering and so I have great respect for a talented technician, and James is top-notch. Plus, his Air Force background is an additional confidence boost. Anyway, Janes spent quite a bit of time with me and my preamp, and he meticulously, methodologically went through a systematic troubleshooting process to diagnose and repair my equipment. Some people might take issue with the his $40 non-refundable fee for diagnostic services. But for anyone who has an appreciation for the effort required to troubleshoot electronics, this is a totally legitimate policy. There might be some occasions when diagnosis is a snap, but more often than not my guess is that James spends more time on this phase than he recoups from the diagnostic fee. ---And if you go ahead with the repairs, that fee is applied to the total cost anyway, so you won't lose the investment. Note that, being the only repair guy for miles around means that sometimes his backlog can get a bit high. So you might need some patience. Also, James could be a bit more open in regard to his hourly rate. This would help to make the potential bottom-line price less of a surprise. Still, overall, he's a straight shooter and I think his pricing is fair and reasonable. If you want to buy new and are willing to pay for it then go for it. But if you want to generate less waste and extend the life of your electronics by having it repaired instead (like in the "old days" of the 20th century)then I would highly recommend giving James a try!
