The place is a mad house ... parking lot is full and be prepared for a grocery cart rally. Went on a Saturday morning. New guy in town for the experience. Multiple deli counters and fantastic choices. Service was excellent. Tried many cold cuts and salads. Hot dishes were popular with other shoppers but that wasn't a priority for us. Great breads to choose from. This old world deli is jam packed full of goodies. So many, we are returning today for another pass. Couldn't make it out the door without trying some of their chocolates. The triple dipped malted milk balls will put you in a coma. Highly recommend without any reservations. Allow plenty of time and grab a cart as soon as you enter. Bon Appetite !

We had already planned on visiting Franks Diner in Kenosha so we were excited to see that Tenuta's was just a few miles from Franks. After our excellent breakfast at Franks, we made our way to Tenuta's. We were both surprised and kind of excited when we arrived at an empty parking lot with plenty of spaces. It was when we attempted to go in that we noticed that they did not open for 15 minutes. Thus the empty parking lot. What happened over the next 15 minutes was something we have never experienced before. Cars began pulling in 2 and 3 at a time. People were walking up in groups to stand and wait for them to open. Keep in mind this was December and it was pretty cold outside. The closer we got to the time they opened, the more people that arrived. It kind of felt like black Friday shopping. People kept lining up and before you knew it, the parking lot was almost full. Wow. All for good reason as we got inside. Tenutas' is a one stop shop. They have pre-made foods, frozen foods, deli hot food, alcohol, of course some cheese, you name it. We picked up some Italian sausage, some frozen ravioli with their homemade sauce and a pack of their Italian beef. We really enjoyed the ravioli and the homemade sauce was delicious. Being a Chicago guy, the Italian beef was good, just not Chicago quality. The mild Italian sausage was very good and we look forward to enjoying the additional links that we have left. Very popular place that we would definitely visit again when we are back in the area.

Loved it!! Literally a "must" for all cheese lovers It looks like a castle from the outside but…read morethe inside is a cheese haven!!! There's a tavern, a quick eats restaurant, gift shop, bakery, snacks, and LOTS of CHEESE The guy at the cheese counter was AMAZING!! He talked about everything from aging to flavor, he literally could've sold me a cow because I spent about $30 on cheese that day Everyone enjoyed their meal because a grilled cheese at the cheese castle just hit different...lol! My teens and young adult went with the burger and fries, which they also enjoyed. This was literally a quick trip from Chicago and I'd definitely do it again but I'd make sure to bring a cooler and lots of ice packs (which they have available for purchase).

Of course when you come to Wisconsin you are going to want to find some cheese. Why wouldn't you pick a place that is shaped like a castle? This place does a great job of having it all... above and beyond cheese! A restaurant/bar, a snack counter, ice cream, candy, bakery, liquor section, tee shirts and all types of local foods from other Wisconsin business. And FREE SAMPLES! I've been here many times because it's a great place to pull over and take a break and shop for some cool foods while on my way home from a trip to Illinois or other places south of me. Pro tip: find the bakery products in the frozen section from the Elegant Farmer, everything they make is great.
