They had free aloe plants, take one. I did and she threw me a look as if I was some homeless person. I said TY and left...for good. This person has treated me in this manner during all our interactions. I bathe and shave, woman. You can keep your demeaning looks and your high-priced products, there are other places that are happy to take my money too. I finally stopped in to check out Polson's-and was oh, so wonderfully surprised! Moved to Antioch during Covid-and haven't had a chance yet to wander in town! The ladies who were working were so very friendly-the prices were fantastic, and it's just a real gem of a store! I saved money over Amazon or Jewel-and put $$ into the community instead of... I will be back-again and again! I worked at a health food store with a restaurant in Highland Park as a teen-and was an ER nurse in my youth-so I appreciate having a great place to stop and browse-and get some really great deals! I love Polsons. Every time I come to Antioch I try and stop here to re-up on a few essentials. First, I think this has to be the best selection of grocery at any health food store in the area. I love having a shop where I can literally go shopping and fill my pantry!! I love that the runs specials every week and have a sign when you walk in that lets you know the things that are on sale! Sometimes it allows me to pick up extra bits and bobs because the prices are so good! The staff is helpful and attentive, the store is well laid out and clean. I try to shop locally instead of using Amazon. I bought a collagen latte mix for $53. As I was leaving the store, I thought this was pricey. I checked Amazon. Same exact product was $34. The owner got snippy and said "well I have "brick and mortar" costs." I still purchased $80 of other stuff. She could have offered a small discount on the collagen latte. I returned it on the spot due to her attitude. We all have higher expenses these days. They are consistently not nice in this store. Why be in business if you can't be friendly to the people who PAY YOUR BILLS - they are called CUSTOMERS!!! read more

Polson's Natural Foods is a unique regional resource. Why? There's no place else up here in northern Lake County and even across the Cheddar Curtain that can offer the products that they do. Herbs, herbs, herbs. In bulk, in tea bags, tinctures and infusions. When I'm ailing, this is where I'm headed. They have a really unique stock of other supplements, and they don't tend to try to stock the same stuff as GNC or Vitamin World over in Gurnee Mills mall. I mean, what would be the point, after all? They have a large selection of health foods, hypo-allergenic ingredients and gluten-free products, a must for the sensitive eater, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Polson's has been in business for an incredibly long time, so they know their stuff. Better yet, owner Mark Polson has an eye out for the environment and has taken steps to reduce his energy use at the Antioch location. Good for you, good for the environment. I was seriously surprised to find such a well-stocked health food store in Antioch. I went there searching for an herbal tincture that's relatively obscure, and I discovered more than one brand of it at Polson's. They have an extensive selection of vitamins, minerals, herbs, homeopathic products, teas and organic groceries galore. They were very friendly, polite and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. They have been in the health food business for over 80 years. So visit them soon, and expect to find what you're looking for. read more

Everyone at Polson's are always friendly and helpful. They carry everything you may need from a health store but unfortunately they were out of a lot of products the last time I went in there. It was near xmas so I can only assume the xmas shoppers wiped them out. I recommend them often. read more
