We contacted "Jim" on a number of occasions about making repairs. All he did was to threaten us with "legal action" from his "Sister." He clearly is not professional, contentious, or responsible in any manner whatsoever. Run from this guy, he has no warranty whatsoever, We feel like we were Conned. read more

I was looking to install a ledgestone veneer on my fireplace, and quickly realized this project was a bit out of my DIY skillset. Searching Angie's, Home Advisor, Yelp, and a few other sites, I interviewed a number of potential contractors. I went with Jim both due to his fantastic reviews, his responsiveness to my inquiries, his competitive pricing, and his patience explaining the process. I could not be happier that I did. Jim was very helpful in the selection of stone (both veneer and hearthstone), his suggestions for layout, grout, and style, and he was very transparent regarding the timeframe for the completion of the work. He was prompt to arrive, courteous, and seemingly happy to deal with my wife's curious cats. He was also surprisingly clean - masonry is a dirty job, and most masons I've had experience with aren't the most conscientious about keeping things clean. I'm pretty sure Jim left the living room and surrounding areas cleaner than he found them. I'm a VP of customer relations in a service industry, so I think I'm especially critical of service providers. Without hesitation, I would absolutely recommend Jim and Celtic Masonry to all my family, friends, and clients - they do a fantastic job at a great price, and Jim was a pleasure to deal with. Celtic Masonry made for us front steps from granite and brick. The steps are functional but look ugly, like an eyesore, "blooming" with efflorescence. For those who does not know, efflorescence is a white powdery scum that is a result of moisture trapped inside a masonry structure. We have been hiring many contractors for various home improvement projects, and Jim Bresnahan stands out from all of them as dishonest, rude, and unprofessional. I wish I had read all the "C", "D", and "F" reviews on this business on Angie's List, before hiring Celtic Masonry. Make yourself a favor, do not deal with Celtic Masonry. There are many highly skilled and honest masons in the area. read more

Last Spring 2017, Celtic Masonry replaced the bluestone on 2 existing sets of stairs on the front of my home with granite. Right away within weeks, we noticed that there seemed to be water collecting underneath the granite which caused it to always look wet. When we contacted Jim Bresnahan at Celtic Masonry. He eventually came back and decided that the only solution was to drill holes under the lip of the top stoop. He came back and did that, but it never resolved the problem. In the fall, 2017, after we had gone back and forth with him about the same issue, he said "If it heaves in the Spring, I'll come back and fix it." Well, now it is Spring and the mortar between the slabs of granite is starting to crumble. I called him and he said he would call me Friday, 4/25/18 about coming to take a look at it today, 4/26/18. He hadn't called so I called him. He immediately got defensive and started yelling and swearing at me and eventually hung up. He basically told me that he is "done" with this job, told me to F off and go F myself and to whatever I want because he is all done. Once again, he hung up. I was hoping to settle this with Jim, but he is not being cooperative. At this point, I feel like he should provide a at least a partial refund because I am going to have to pay someone else to repair a job that I just paid Jim $3500 for. read more

Wow... Working with Jim Bresnahan and his team was a true pleasure. I had a detailed quote very quickly and he kept me updated regularly on his schedule. (No easy feat with the wet spring we had.) I chose to replace the failing concrete with granite. The layout that Jim designed is beautiful and the work is perfect. As with any old house, you never know what you're going to find until the demolition is done. For me, it was extra carpentry that was needed before the porch columns could be replaced. Jim brought a carpenter with him and we've worked out a plan to address those items. I couldn't be happier with the job. Thank You Jim! read more
