James Shoe Hospital has been my place to get shoes repaired for more than 30 years, and they are…read moreamazing!! Their work is done very professionally - and is done CORRECTLY!! We have had men's shoes (dress shoes, casual shoes, and sandals), ladies' shoes, purses, and other leather goods repaired (and even rebuilt!) here, always with total satisfaction. Although getting here is a long drive for us and the hours of operation are a bit inconvenient - it is well worth it!! Through the years, there have been a couple of times that James Shoe Hospital was closed for vacation, etc., when I had to take shoes elsewhere. Very bad mistake!! Each time, I then had to take them to 'the Hospital' to get improperly done repairs corrected!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Only to find a "NOTE" on said business, that owner had emergency surgery (understandable). Waited another month"TWO" months, not being able to contact said business. There was always an EXCUSE if there were communication with said owner. Long story short after "SEVEN" months, $150.00 bags were still not fixed. Workmanship was something of an inexperienced youth. Absolutely unexceptionable. Repairs were NOT made, all repairs on LV bags were not completed. "NEVER" would I suggest any individual take items to the business.

I don't live in Clarksville, so, I paid him to ship the boots to my home. Cobbler said three weeks. After five weeks and still no boots, I was in Clarksville, stopped into his store. He said he had just a little bit left to complete the job. Today is 10/18/24, seven weeks and still no boots. Sigh.

I asked about the $50 each for zippers, and you got EXTREMELY huffy, loud, and RUDE saying you told my son $50 ea. and I said to you, "I said we're coming to pick up his boots tomorrow!" I am not used to being yelled at by strangers with that tone, over the phone or otherwise, and I told you so. So after we hung up, I thought about your atrocious attitude as a businessman, I told my son that for $158, he can have a new pair of boots, and I can get a new pair of Easy Spirits, which is precisely what we did the very next day! You see, we had had a zipper put in a boot before for $15 in Paducah but they are no longer there--and then, you proceeded to bad mouth our man in Paducah. Not a high point!! They made it sound like it would be an easy fix and only be 15 dollars. I had someone else pick them up (they charged them 25....) and when she brought them back I saw that they had butchered the strap. Ripped leather, poor stitching repair and just plain ugly. If they weren't skilled enough to do the work they should have just said no. Now I have a 500 dollar brand new pair of shoes ruined. I try to always support local business but any place that would knowingly send back this shoddy work with so much as an apology and instead actually charge more deserves to be avoided.
