I write about other out of the way small town convenience gas-stores and check back later to see after five years its' still just my one review. What would Yelp do without me? That brings us to this mass of pavement in Hinkley, a busy spot on I-35 for people most likely traveling between Duluth and St Paul. The last numbered pump was 26 which was my first choice, yes first. Read On. Pump is beeping and won't reset, no intercom that I could find to call in. Move to another pump. 25, diesel only, back one more 24. Tells me I have to use a credit card with a chip..yes It does have a chip! Try again, "card declined". Wait wait wait for reset, can't see anything on the grey screen. Bang it timed out and reset, try another card and this time it works. In other locations I've had their pumps lock up because I couldn't get out of the first mode asking for a rewards number. There is supposed to be a skip button but how can we see it if the SCREEN IS GREYED OUT? Head inside for coffee which is now freshly made by the machine which all the gas stations and small stores have. I think I miss employee made coffee fresh every 30 minutes kept in air pots. I realize this is a huge saving on employees time. Fresh sandwiches to go and all is well. Do I dare try my first card with the cashier? Nah, good ol' fashioned green bills work just fine. The matronly woman was happy and friendly and I'm glad she didn't call me "Hon".

Absolutely no complaints with it all. I found the sales experience to be quick and easy. In fact, I was taken aback by the lack of small talk, and the salesman being straight to the point, and greatly appreciated it. What also impressed me was how fairly they priced my trade-in. At first I thought they offered me too little for it. But it had rust issues. Otherwise the truck was good mechanically and I liked it. I was on the fence about fixing the rust or trading it. At first I thought the trade-in offer too low. But now that I see it that it is reasonably priced on their lot, I feel much better about the deal. So after making this deal I feel like these guys were honest and straightforward and would go back there again.

He said yes I will get you a tire. I went on back today It cost me 360 some dollars couldn't take the new tire off my rim because now it's used so I had to buy the tire, so this Ford dealer has no warranty on any tires I didn't even have 2000 miles on the tire. Keep this in mind if you are going to buy tires here. Customer service is the worst I've seen other than a few other places around Pine City, since I've been retired, I've tried to do business with local businesses Now that I am in the area during the hours that they are open.

After specifically requesting to have 4 customer provided OEM replacement parts installed, I met the owner in person and mentioned every provided part verbatim and he agreed, giving me a calendar date with nothing scheduled a week or more in advance. After I brought my car, I drove over half an hour home when Red called me and told me he wouldn't do any work that day and that he only agreed to do 1/4 parts. I requested the next day that he would have fully open to complete the work same day, so that I can return to work, and the owner yelled down the phone and telling me he wouldn't use my parts, and hung up on me. As you expect, he behaved the exact same in person after I decided to take my business elsewhere. When you go to Red's, what you pay for is what you get, which is shoddy bare minimum work from grumpy old toddlers who treat you as an unwelcome intruder at every step, both in person and on the phone, regardless of your own conduct. Customer beware.

I had originally taken my car for a brand new windshield, after having asked if they had a used one and being told that there wasn't one. At my appointment, Doug (I'm pretty sure that was his name? I'm not great with names!) brought my car back into their shop, and came out and informed me that he had looked again and found a used windshield that was the right size! He had no obligation to check again, but he did and saved me $55 when easily could have just gone with the more expensive new windshield! The RainX coating was only $2, which was really nice as well! Extremely satisfied with their work AND Doug's honesty!

We were on vacation from north of Milwaukee when our Expedition was sputtering and getting reduced…read moremileage. The local auto-parts-chain store tested it and prescribed O2 sensors. They sold us all 4 for $250 because their testing device could not identify which sensor was bad. We went to Matt's for the install and they said they want to test the system themselves for a diagnosis. My first thought was, "ya, RIGHT"! But, they must have better equipment because they identified the PCV valve as the problem. So, $40 and one hour later we were on the road with the "Check Engine" light off, no sputtering and normal MPG. It was worth the $20 tip! I do not give endorsements for folks just doing their job. But, Matt's Auto Service Center has earned the positive recognition. Their work gets results.
