Great place to see a concert, not too big and not too small. I recently saw Sarah McLachlan in…read moreconcert here and I loved how easy it was to find your seat, access concessions, access the restrooms and how clean the place was. I had absolutely no complaints except I am tall so it would have been nice to have a little more knee room in the seats lol, but you know...tall people problems. This venue was about a block away from my hotel: Cambridge Suites Halifax, if you are looking for a place to stay for a concert or sporting event in the future.

The staff and security had ZERO interest in assisting and told my wife Holly Chrismas to "go figure it out ourselves" Who does this to a child???? This is beyond disgraceful!!! Halifax Mooseheads is this how you treat your fans??? Scotiabank Centre is this how you treat your customers???? Truly disgusting!!! Now a TEN YEAR OLD went from loving to absolutely hating the mooseheads, not to mention it is things like this that will make kids like her grow up with resentment and trust issues with the public! The staff actually rather than assist, gave my wife grief for not being seated!!!

Plus you see all blurry your eyes do not adapt to fast action scenes... it even gives headaches. After the movie ended I tried all seats, and only the last seats are good. So to me this IMAX 70mm theatre is poorly designed, it is like watching you 70inches TV at home having your noise at 1inch from the screen. My wife and my parents have been so disappointed too. I was thinking to complain to Cineplex for a refund as I really think we got screwed.... Only the popcorn and drinks were good lol... But I have not done it, I am gentleman. I think I got fooled by this Cineplex IMAX 70mm marketing... So get sure to get the Last seats if you want to go for IMAX 70mm!!! All the first raws front seats are not good at all!!! I will go again to see it but not in IMAX 70mm for sure. :)

Real talk? I think the Alderney Landing Theatre and Round Room are two of the most underrated…read morespaces we've got in this city. Every time I pop up to swoon over the view, the lighting, and the layout, I sink deeper and deeper into a venue crush. Wheelchair accessible with safe and reliable elevators (worth pointing out considering some of the others in the city), the theatre space is on the upper level of Alderney, just above the farmer's market space. As you climb up, you get a gorgeous view of Halifax and the harbour through the all glass walls that only gets better once you reach your destination. Upstairs, the round as they call it is sizable and beautifully lit by the reflection off the harbour waters. All the glass makes the place feel even bigger than it is - kind of like an outdoor amphitheater...but, you know, inside. So, uh, a theatre. Nevermind. Bad comparison. While inside the theatre is comfortable for audiences and guests attending any number of community-driven performances throughout the year, I do find the stage strikes me as a bit small. I suspect that may be the only thing holding this space back from a booker's point of view. All the other pieces are in place to welcome bigger touring productions otherwise.
