Carpet is torn and worn down to the concrete. Bathroom floor tiles have been missing for months. Bottom of shower curtains are pink with mold. Many cable machines not maintained with notes attached to use carefully to avoid injury if they break during use. Trash laying around that never gets picked up. I could go on and on. Something needs to change before someone gets very sick.

Friday hours are 5:30 am - 8:00 pm, which is probably fine for most people as I am a weirdo who enjoys a Friday night workout which is out of the norm. On Sat the gym is only open from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, then Sun from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. These weekend hours make it very unlikely I would ever get a workout in on the weekend so it was not worth the membership fees for me.

I say normal because most industry gyms have gone to having smoothie bars, TVs, and group class exercises... the down stairs however - where I hung out during my stay - has a crossfit feel. They have functional fitness classes and most everything there to do a crossfit type workout (they don't yet have climbing ropes). But all that isn't what makes this hometown gym so great. What makes it great are the people everyone is friendly, kind, and professional at what they do. The staff also work with their customers to match them with the right plan for them.
