Awesome gym. I love coming here to get in a workout when I visit Petoskey. There's something here for everybody. Cardio equipment and weights galore on two floors of the building. Showers and locker rooms convenient and "kept up" well. All equipment is well-maintained and clean. The owners/operators are friendly and responsible. I highly recommend CCG for anybody into fitness. The check-in girl was rude. She didn't make eye contact, and acted like I was bothering her when I said hello. I know this isn't Equinox, but why the attitude? If you don't like your job, there's plenty of other options out there these days. They have lots of equipment, it's older stuff but it works. read more

This gym is pretty good for the area. The machines are a little dated and heavily used but in good working condition. They have a decent amount of cardio equipment. They have all of the standard types plus a few other kinds. The basement has a lot of free weights and equipment as well. It feels a little grimy down there, and could stand a good cleaning. I've been a guest at this gym on several visits over a period of 4 years. Each time the staff has been really friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy the plants and large windows up in the front of the gym. Although it might seem like a fishbowl, it is a nice distraction to stare out and see the beautiful downtown area. read more

On a wedding trip in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, a gem stood out. I searched and searched for a gym and I found 24hr fitness but if you don't get a key card in time you're sol. I didn't choose this gym first because it was no name and I figured it wouldn't be good but I couldn't have been more wrong. This gym was everything and I wish it was a branch here in Chicago. Best gym I ever get to use when visiting Petoskey. Have a nice first floor with cardio equipment and a basement with all the free weights you can imagine with an awesome feel to it (and great lighting to show the pump) the staff is very nice and I wish we had gyms like this in Florida where I live. My husband and I vacation in the Petoskey Harbor Springs area every summer. We have been going to this gym now for at least 5 or 6 years!!!! We are very, very happy with Center City Gym. The gym is always clean, machines are always working and this gym has everything to give you a total body work out. Yes, one reviewer mentioned no exercise classes, however it's not a concern for us so that isn't an issue for us. The owner, Mark, is very knowledgeable so if you need any guidance on nutrition or fitness he has it. Both he and his wife are very caring and devoted in making this gym a welcomed place to be. Nice gym with a good variety of machines and a huge free weights room in the basement. Friendly staff too. CCG also offers daily rates which is great if you are just visiting or only need a local gym occasionally (weekenders). read more

I love gyms like this. I was here on a day pass because I live 4 hours away. I was in the area for work and had time to kill. This gym is great! Love all of the equipment. The pictures around the gym are great also. Everything you want in a gym if you are a body builder and if your not they still have everything you need to get tone. Great cardio equipment also. This is a really fine gym - old school but with everything (in terms of equipment) you'd get at a chain or franchise, and much more. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Many, many machines as well as free weights on both floors. Lots of cardio. Hits the spectrum from powerlifters to serious cardio folks. Doesn't feel cluttered or cramped even though there are a LOT of options for working out. Not crowded, but not deserted either. Customers are serious and there to work out. Good locker room and water options. Good location. Friendly owners. Highly recommended! read more

In Petoskey for work this week and looking for an alternative to the hotel fitness center. Stopped in here and was pleased! Clean, well maintained and affordable. The owner was friendly and you could tell he has a lot of pride in his facility. I'll be back next time I'm in town, for sure. read more
