received a bill today, curious that it has two charges for same day same code.... no insurance…read moresubmittal. This after I had walked out of the Prince Frederick office about 1.5 yrs previous. The "Dr. " there as soon as they realized my BCBS was from Illinois(my employer is nationwide, that is where they are based. 700+ employees in Lusby MD) IMMEDIATELY she went to the hard sell for cash for orthotics, when I had the insurance on the phone to send a fax, no one in the practice would even respond to a request for a fax #, reception was "blablabla" with someone in the lobby-not work related. When I went into the Solomons office and informed them of what the issue was in PF 1.5 yrs earlier, really got a kick out of the nonsense justification. The PF office had a position of " well if you don't do a cash option and insurance doesn't cover then it will cost much more..." (that makes no sense) when I went to solomons, no injury related, no trauma, just orthotics... "OH , were going to take xrays to look for injury" they got squeamish when my retort was "you mean since insurance will cover it we'll take em?" squirming"um, well, um , no , that's not why its to look for , um inury, um...".........................BS NOW in the Solomons office, the woman doing the cast went into this script of CASTER; "well that's an out of state provider and the office manager makes the decision on not EXCEPTING them, its way above our pay grade here" me"you have a contract for in network, that's not your call" CASTER; "well that's an out of state provider and the office manager makes the decision on not EXCEPTING them, its way above our pay grade here" me"(I repeat it back)" this went round and round for the entire time she cast the feet. So answer is, they want the in network BCBS business, KINDA, if there is any work involved, they bill you, and let you take it up with your insurance....which BTW is a violation of the contract with BCBS, the provider is REQUIRED to file "in a timely manner" all claims with BCBS.... when ready to leave the office"oh , that will be 30$ today" me" REALLY, show me that on the computer there please, my card says 10$ right here" reception , being very nervous, "OH , THAT WILL BE OK, WE"LL TAKE THAT". It is a from the top corporate policy , clearly...squeeze every dime, legitimate and not so legitimate.....I posted a pic of the bill. I then went to see a proper Podiatrist in the area, and very quickly was informed of a couple of minor things I could do that WORK for my plantar fasciitis, that capitol never mentioned, or other podiatrists for that matter. If you want a proper doc in the area, see Dr Soffer in Prince Frederick.... they don't take credit cards, but that does keep some costs down for them. Easy, walk in, sorted out the issue quickly. My daughters/wife will be going here, never Capitol.... BTW Capitol, when you stamp a fraudulent bill and put a stamp on it its postal fraud, 5 yrs for each offence....more to follow.

I've been trying to get an appointment here for about a month and that process was not as smooth as I would have hoped. They always answer the phone promptly and are pleasant to deal with. That said, they called me back after I made an appointment when they realized they had given me the wrong time. Okay just a minor issue. Then a week later they called me about my appointment which they had put on their calendar for the wrong week. Managed to get that straightened out, but in the interim they had also decided that the referral from my surgeon was not valid and I would have to get a referral from my primary care manager. The bureaucracy of our medical system has become appallingly inept and does not do anything to further the health care provided to the patients. So I had to make an appointment with my primary care manager just to ask him to write a special referral that was identical to that from the surgeon. Of course now that it was from a different insurance provider, they selected a different therapy provider. So when I went to make the appointment, they told me they could not provide service. This required more calls to the insurer to have the referral changed to the original provider. All of this meant about a three-week delay in getting a simple preoperative physical therapy evaluation. I arrived about 30 minutes early for my appointment and filled out all of the paperwork as well as paying the co-pay. I was eventually seen about 10 minutes late, but the therapist was great. Very pleasant and easy to deal with and very professional. Other than the documentation issues and the minor mishaps in getting an appointment I would recommend this office.

To their credit, they did get me an appointment on very short notice, although I had to drive an hour and a half each way to their other office. I was seen for about 30 minutes, during which Dr. Zabiegalski was relatively curt with me and then pushed so hard on my face where I had a painful lump that I teared up, and proceeded to ask "are you really crying?" I have never felt so demeaned by a doctor. He took at least two private phone calls during our meeting, sometimes in the middle of his sentence, not exactly making me feel like a priority. He couldn't diagnose anything and simply referred me to my doctor. After that, insurance became a nightmare. I had given them my dental insurance, for which they are in-network as stated on the insurance's website. They proceeded to accept what the insurance company paid them, and then bill me for the entire amount that they were supposed to write off, saying they were not in network. After many frustrating phone calls, they informed me that they had done things incorrectly on their side and that I actually needed to go through my medical insurance, but that they refuse to have anything to do with my medical insurance. I'm still dealing with the consequences of that. Overall, a very frustrating trip. I came out in more pain that I went in with, in more ways than one.
