I have been a patient of Dr. Kuhlman for many years and have always considered him to be an excellent provider. Unfortunately, my recent experience following a procedure has been extremely disappointing and concerning. What was expected to be a routine recovery of approximately three weeks turned into a six-month wound after the procedure. The procedure attended by PA Andrea Margaret Williams allegedly did not include sufficient stitches, which resulted in an open wound in my foot requiring ongoing treatment. Initially, I was informed that the wound care resulting from the procedure would be covered and monitored appropriately. However, without warning, I was later informed that they would no longer be covering my care expenses, despite the wound being directly related to the procedure. I am now left with ongoing medical bills. While being told this situation is considered a "complication." It is frustrating and confusing to understand why coverage for my medical care began, only to be discontinued later, especially when the condition appears to stem directly from the procedure itself. read more

Dr. Rumbley is kind, direct and detailed, about his recommendations and offered to speak to me and my family, about any additional questions, we may have. He is different than my original doctor there. The office is okay, I've been there several times, some rooms have smells, like where they took my X-rays, it smells like cigarette smoke. Parking can be difficult, especially if you can't walk far, we use disability spots but there's not many to choose from and they're always filled, except during lunch hour. read more

Extremely rude and disorganized. They have had to reschedule every appointment I have had with them because of their inability to keep a schedule. When I voiced my dissatisfaction with their scheduling and conveyed that I was angry, apparently the scheduler said that I told them something that was completely untrue and put it in my file. Additionally, they will not prescribe any pain medication for joint pain unless you have one of their doctors perform surgery, what a scam. Medication is a necessaity when they keep pushing schedule. No patient should ever be treated so poorly, do yourself a favor and look for a practice that doesn't treat patients like crap. read more

They ordered my surgery on the wrong side. When I told them it was the wrong side they got mad at me. Then they offered to do the surgery on the wrong side. They tried to convince me that it was normal for surgeries to be done on the wrong side. I had to walk out. When I tried to reschedule I was told that I was banned from the property for walking out before a procedure was "finished". read more

I have seen Dr. Paul Leo several times for several things over the past year or two, most recently he diagnosed a small tear in my medial collateral ligament and explained clearly my options so I could make an informed decision with him. In the meantime, he gave me a cortisone shot to alleviate the pain from increased arthritis in the same knee. This will also allow me to walk with a more normal gait until my next visit. A member of the staff came in and fitted me for a knee brace that is stabilizing the knee and allowing me to move freely for the first time in a while. A few weeks prior to that, he gave my 88-year-old mother a freeze treatment for the nerves above and below each of her three cracked ribs. The procedure was painful, but he told her upfront that it would be so she was nervous but prepared. And he was patient with her apprehension, reminding her that she did not have to do it if she was unsure. Bronchitis is the worst thing to have with cracked ribs and I do not know how she would have managed without his expert and compassionate care. His team is also terrific! Patient, kind, and always on top of whatever needs doing. So is the front desk crew, always cheerful, helpful, and patient. The only downside of working with this practice is that it can take a long time to get an appointment - but it's worth the wait. Thank you for always putting your patients first. read more

can't say enough good things about Kate Weisenborne, Dr. Rumley and everyone at The Center for Spine and Orthopedics. I first met with Kate and she was so patient and knowledgeable. She took the time to go over my issues and truly listened to every detail. She thoroughly went over my MRI results and my options to made sure I completely understood and was comfortable with what was going on. She immediately earned my trust. I am in a great deal of pain and I was expecting to do a lot of the leg work to get approval for a spinal fusion but Kate is a woman of integrity and kept her word. She got my insurance authorization pushed through with no hassle, coordinated my surgery date and set up everything for pre-op and short term disability. This woman does not miss a beat. We ran into a hurdle and my surgery had to be pushed back but I appreciated the fact that Dr. Rumley called me himself to let me know. The bedside manner and care of this team is outstanding. What I like about Spine and Orthopedic is my Drs. I have 2 doctors I now see. Dr Paul Leo manages my pain. He's been my pain Dr for years and I really don't know what I would do without him.. He was a bit intimidating at first. I could understand Dr Leo wanting to find out if I really needed pain management. Everything he's ask me to do I have done. Even though I didn't always agree. I followed through only to find it was for my benefit and it really helped the pain. I've had Drs in pain management that has over medicated me and others that did procedures that caused more pain. Dr Leo has me on the right combination of medication that helps but the biggest part of it all is working on self to lower pain. I am so glad I found Dr Leo. He is very professional in what he does. I appreciate that. I'd recommend Dr Paul Leo because he's a professional, thorough, and knows what he talks about. read more

I was in a multi-vehicle accident in December 2019 which caused Neck & lower back issues, spinal compression injuries and such. Not having any medical insurance of my own, I am having my medical care financed from my settlement. Dr. Rumley at Center for Spine and Orthopedics was the fourth doctor I had seen since the accident (including the initial ER doctor). My biggest issue was finding a doctor who actually would take the time to listen, and fully understand the depth of my injuries. I am happy to say that I finally found that when I was lucky enough to find Dr. Rumley and his team Kate & Joseph. Dr. Rumley took the time to examine my previous MRI(s) & X-rays thoroughly, and most importantly he took the time to not only listen to my concerns, he also takes the time to explain whats going on, candidly discuss options/risks, and answer any/all questions to satisfaction. He takes a genuine interest in the well being and best possible outcome for his patients, and he's an incredibly skilled & gifted surgeon. On 2.9.21, Dr. Rumley performed an Artificial Disc Replacement (ADR) at C5/C6 in the on-site surgery center which required a one-night stay over. I had the option of doing this at the hospital, but it was really nice to have the option of staying at the on-site center, especially with the on-going pandemic... I was the only overnight patient, and had a nurse and EMT exclusive to my care and they took great care of me! It was better than a hospital, beautiful room, awesome staff/care, and no other patients... it was the closest I've ever felt to being a king while recovering from surgery. The surgery went great, the only pain really came from being arched back during surgery... sore back, and shoulder muscles.. a pre & post-surgery therapeutic massage may reduce some of that. The incision site is even pain free! I immediately noticed a reduction of my compression injury symptoms' and a great range of motion in my neck (while not moving too much during the following 6-weeks) I am so grateful to everyone that had a hand in my care, from the check-in folks to the pre-op team, neuromonitoring, anesthesia... I would list your names but Dr. Chris did such a great job with the anesthesia I can't remember! If you are not happy with the care you are receiving from another Orthopedic provider, I can't make a stronger recommendation then go see Dr. Rumley @ The Center For Spine & Orthopedics! read more

Dr. Noel is absolutely amazing! I was suffering from excruciating pain in both wrists and was very concerned with what may be going on. I made an appointment easily; the office staff and nurses were all kind, courteous and efficient. I honestly do not know what the other Yelpers experienced but my experience was prompt and friendly. Dr. Noel did an in depth work-up for me to effectively narrow down the source and cause of my pain. He promptly diagnosed me and the steroid injections I received made the pain diminish THE VERY NEXT DAY. I was shocked at how quickly I felt relief from the treatment he gave me! They have always provided me with great care. I have to admit that the front desk staff aren't the most friendly. But I guess in the long run, the quality of care is most important in this situation. I mostly see Kate and she is amazing. Always answers any questions I have and she takes her time with me. As far as wait times, I have never had to wait longer than ten minutes after my appointment time. My former Orthopedist at this office retired. He was amazing and I had another recent knee injury so I tried another provider at this office. The Doctor's MA wasn't prepared or knew which knee I was coming in for. I was wearing a brace on it and secondly it was a red flag. I also was irritated since the surgeon told me it just normal knee pain and basically suck it up. Then I had a bad reaction to cortisone shot which was irritating and put me out 2.5 days. I got a PT referral and that was it after my MRI said a mild cartilage tear this was at the beginning of April. I recently hurt myself and fell on the same knee along with went to the ER. I refused to see this surgeon and got referred elsewhere by my doctor. The Orthopedist at another group took me seriously and is taking care of my cartilage tear along with other damage I have now. read more

I had called around due to a back issue that was significantly causing impact. The MRI showed compressed disc and 3 of the lower disks had ranging from mild, moderate and the worst was the last one. That was the one pressing against a nerve, it had fissured and multiple other notations from the mri. My left leg also goes numb. The reason I came to them is they were able to get me in for an 11:30 am appointment on a Friday (booked the apt on a Tuesday. This is important since I am due to play out of the country the next day after my apt. (Previously scheduled). All was set and well (so I thought). Get a call at 11:34 am on Thursday (roughly 24 hours prior to my appointmebt time (11:30) the following day (Friday). I confirm that I will be seeing them at 11:30. The lady on the phone said they could no longer see me at 11:30. I needed to come in at 9 am. I told her I could not do that, I had a appointment with the passport office. She said ok, then come in at 10 am. I informed her that would not be possible since my meeting is suooosed to get over around 10ish and then I have to drive to your office. The best case is 10:20 (pushing it). I told her I will be the best I can but cannot move the other scheduled session. Well, I arrive at 10:26 am. They tell me I was supposed to be there at 10 (I even. Have a recording of my conversation with the lady who called me. No notations made and they simply run a business that well, sorry we can reschedule you for a time that is convenient. Since when does a business succeed with a single sided conversation? I would not recommend this place based on the experience I have had. At this point I am seeing other (more capably managed) facilities. read more

My elderly Mom was suffering an injury following multiple falls, and Dr. Cain's treatment and care has been thorough and effective. When Dr Isaacs was with Center for spine and Orthopedics it was a great place to go. Since he has been gone it has went way downhill!! I was told I could have neck surgery before the end of the year. Since I met my deductible, I was very excited to finally be out of pain. I waited for over a week from 12/10/219 to hear back that my insurance approved it. I had to call them and was advise the Dr that was to perform the surgery was off the rest of the year but would come in and do my surgery if need be. I then was told NO he would not come in. At that point I could not have it done before the end of the year. They do not care about the patient or the pain they suffer. Between my husband and I, have had 3 surgeries at this facility...never again. I feel the patient no longer matters. read more

Regarding spine surgery performed by Dr. Michael Janssen and a preliminary procedure performed by Dr. Georgescu at the Thornton Hospital in Colorado. Perhaps the best way to explain my score for spine surgery performed by this duo assisted by others is to begin with a quote: To every living thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. In late fall of 2022, I met Dr. Janssen for the first time. He was quick to point out the poster on his wall that spine surgery is an "elective" procedure. The meeting lasted between 90 and 120 seconds when he announced he had a plane to catch to Europe, but he first needed a quick chat with another patient before departing for the airport! Now let me be crystal clear - at one point in his career he was perhaps the best spine surgeon in the country, if not the world. My reasonable expectation was a level of relief after surgery at the L5/S1 level where I was experiencing serious chronic pain. Very few surgeons will perform surgery at this level - I was a very good candidate for this surgery as his criteria relied heavily on bone density, and I was three to four standard deviations greater than normal at that level of my spine, greatly exceeding a criterion he used to evaluate patients for surgery at this spine level. I did NOT anticipate an increase in the day-to-day level of chronic pain over the next 15 months, with very few periods of only modest relief, which unfortunately was the outcome. Only serious pain medications permit a semblance of normal activity - clearly this serves only as an unwanted Band-Aid. I noticed several serious issues of concern besides the short initial meeting and the quick reference to the exculpatory poster, witnessed firsthand as previously mentioned. About two weeks prior to my surgery, I asked his competent PA a question she appeared uncomfortable to answer - she called Dr. Janssen into the room to address my question, which he did to my satisfaction. It is normal for the surgeon to meet with the patient in pre-op on the day of surgery. Unfortunately, he skipped that basic courtsey. The next thing I noticed is that when I awoke in post-op, I was in severe pain, perhaps a ten out of ten. I generally have a high tolerance for pain, but this was off the scale. It appeared, as best as I could determine under the circumstances, that the nurse managing post-op patients was apprehensive of contacting Dr. Janssen for approval of pain medication. To me it felt like hours of agony - it seemed the post-op nurse thought contacting him or his PA was out of the question. The locus of pain was not in my back, but my abdomen - the procedure uses an anterior approach, and the pain was in one corner of my lower abdomen. The general surgeon who opened my abdomen seemed annoyed that a mere patient wanted to see him - after two days of requests, he phoned my room and was clearly annoyed at taking a few minutes to address this patient's questions and concerns. The abdominal pain was persistent and on the second day, because I was still febrile, the hospitalist (sorry I do not recall their name) responsible for the floor ordered a consult with the hospital's interventional radiologist, Dr. Grzybowski. He took images and inserted a drain, which removed a significant amount of fluid and provided a level of relief - these physicians were two of the few senior clinicians I encountered during my stay at Thornton Hospital who clearly cared for the comfort of this patient. I had asked to speak with Dr. Georgescu about my severe abdominal pain and the fever. Although many staff members thought highly of him, I found him rude on the phone. "That sometimes happens," was basically the extent of our conversation. I also suspect he took a short cut (no pun intended) by cutting directly through some of the muscles of the abdomen rather than use muscle splitting. It is 15 months post-surgery and I still have difficulty doing one sit up. Clearly, something is wrong as this exercise was previously never a problem for me. If he did cut directly through some abdominal muscle, I would have no way of confirming that action. What I observed was that most of Dr Janssen's staff and a high percentage of the Thornton Hospital staff seemed unduly concerned about incurring Janssen's ire. As a former AF Command (very senior) pilot, I recalled the danger of crew or team-mates being afraid to raise an issue with the pilot in command. Here, I drew an analogy between his extended staff and my flight career - I needed to know of problems when pilot in command and thought the surgeon of record should always be far more personally engaged, regardless of his technical skill. The next and last time I saw the spine surgeon (my third encounter while I was awake) was about three months after the procedure. He had prescribed one "declining dose package" of Prednisone. I was still in considerable pain and the Prednisone seemed to help a bit. read more

I have never written a negative review of any business in my life, but this was seriously the worst check-in experience I have ever had to date. The reception person just seemed ticked off from the moment I stepped up to the desk. I felt so belittled and despite trying work out solutions, she clearly had no interest in assisting me. I have no idea if the doctors are quality or not because I never was able to see one. I am curious, however, if the doctors here know or even care about the many people who will never return to their practice, and the business they continue to lose based on how poorly patients are treated. read more

I am only 36 years old with 2 young kiddos when Kaiser told me I had to have a fusion at c5-6. I knew I wanted to see Dr.Janssen, but he wasn't under my insurance. After getting feedback from all the physicians and RN's I work with, it was unanimous. I have had the most incredible experience with him. He did a disk replacement instead of the fusion. And although he's a busy guy, he always had the time to answer my questions. I hope I never have to have anything like this again. But if I did, i would certainly have Janssen do it!! read more

Came here for a consult on my foot, which had been giving me some pain. Saw Dr. Kuhlman. The office was busy, however I was checked in quickly and taken back to the treatment room on time(maybe even a bit early) Dr. Kuhlman was approachable and informative, giving me the pros and cons on the treatment options. Had I given this office a review 2 months ago it would have been 3 stars. Lowered just because I think the front desk customer service is lacking and you have to wait far too long, but otherwise no complaints until today when I realized they have no issue prescribing someone narcotics for years and then one day changing their minds. My husband has gone here for years for chronic pain mgmt. He has had several back and neck surgeries and is in constant pain all day, every day. At his visit today they just decide no more since you had THC in your last UA. He's had THC in every 1000+ dollar UA he has taken here since day one! Now nope we won't refill anymore. Go cold turkey buddy. We all know how good it is for the body to just stop taking narcotics. No weaning him off. No willingness from the new PA to find alternate options she COULD prescribe! Just see ya later...shows how much they truly care about their patients. Looks like my hip surgery and at least 2 more back surgeries for him that would have come to this office in the future will go to another Dr. Hopefully at an office that does more than just SAY they care about their patients. I am truly disgusted and appalled by this offices decision to treat a patient they "care so much about" this way. Unprofessionalism at its finest. When you call you get to speak to scheduler. She is very rude and talks over you when you are talking. They have no customer etiquette whatsoever. I scheduled an appointment and even though their website says same day or next day appointments available I had to wait a week in tremendous pain. A real office would care about a potential patient in extreme pain and open up a little slot during the day so they can prescribe him physical therapy. Whether they had a time available or not they could have easily used good customer service to not talk over people when they are talking. There is no reason that a phone receptionist at a doctors office has to be rude over the phone and talk over people when they are talking. Especially when that person is in pain. They could've easily told me to go to the emergency room but instead they told me to wait it out until Friday. I canceled my appointment and got a same day appointment elsewhere. I have never dealt with office staff so rude in my life. They definitely need better training on how to deal with customers with pain. My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Isaacs a number of years ago due to hip issues I was having, in 2013 Dr. Issacs did a complete left hip replacement for me, he did a wonderful job. So when my right hip started giving me problems I didn't give a second thought and went right to Dr. Issacs, almost 5 years to the day Dr. Isaacs replaced my right hip and again he did a wonderful job. Dr. Morreale performed a neck disk replacement on me and 2 years later performed a decompression surgery on my low back. I have had the greatest experiences, with both surgeries, with Dr. Morreale being the greatest surgeon. I would recommend him to my own family. Dr. Morreale's whole staff have been wonderful to work with. My wife and I both think Kate is very good at what she does. She answered all of our questions right after the surgery. Horrendous front end administration. I have no idea if the doctors are any good or not. My primary stated that they have had a lot of issues with this group. I saw for my own eyes in the office how bossy and poorly the front desk staff treats patients in the waiting room. They talk to them like children. Too much ego and poor service with these people. I'm counting my lucky stars that they put up a couple walls for me not to see them. First they said my insurance was from out of state which was flat out WRONG, and then they said they do not do MRI's. Yeah well no kidding. But your doctors can direct you to the imaging lab who can.They lied and said they were trying to reach me. BS! No you didn't. Forget it. Way too much work and brain damage to work with this group. Highly unrecommended to everyone. They have all the patients they need apparently, and their Yelp rating speaks for it's self. Avoid. Horrible bedside manner and service. I have about an 8 year history with this practice. In the beginning I was sent for a work comp injury so I didn't have much choice. The surgeon I met with seemed to be very competent, and was anxious to do lower back surgery. Of course Work Comp fought that but the decompression was done. I was told that more disc tissue had to be removed than expected and sent home (after a 12 hour wait at the hospital due to missing order). 6 months later at a followup I learned the entire disc was removed, leaving bone on bone in my lower back! Fusion was approved after another 6 months and it was done. It was also diagnosed there was a problem in my neck but work comp weaseled out of that, and eventually had it done in Sept '19. A year later I'm dealing with damaged nerves that really had nothing to do with the surgery and a bunch of excuses but no help in the matter. I was sent to speech and physical therapy months after I should have been, and when it was decided I should see a neurologist, I was told by the surgeon THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY ASSOCIATION WITH ANY NEUROLOGISTS!!!! That, and being told to go away and come back after this nerve damage is dealt with made me think I didn't want to go back at all, the surgeon (Dr Morreale) leaving the practice suddenly made me realize there's a real problem here. I'm not at all pleased with this place. Theres a few good people, the front desk staff I wouldn't say is rude but definitely don't offer any warmth. PAs and NPs have been pretty good, but offer answers I can find on Google. Gee, I wonder if they will cover all the CoPays for extra therapy and Dr visits? I am now being bounced between neurologists and surgeons, and getting the idea that something was really screwed up in the surgery and nobody wants to point fingers. read more

Had Laminotomy with decompression of the nerve root, went here out of network because Kaiser's wait time was over 3 months. 2 days after surgery I had to go to emergency, I called them before going to ER and they returned my call 2 days later. when the bill arrived I sent half of the initial balance and placed several calls to make payment arrangements on the other half, two months later I am in collection because apparently no one received my calls or took my massages.
